I signed up for AMC Stubs A-List. Been wanting to have another place to go to when I need to get out of the apartment that wasn't Wal-Mart or Target, and I've been wanting to expand my horizons in terms of movies I watch, so I thought why not. Felt like now was a good time as any since there's movies I want to see coming soon. Also because it cost $18 to see Shazam in 2D while I could see that exact same screening, plus two other films this week, with 3 movies a week, for $20 a month.

At that point I might as well. The one fucking ticket almost made up for the cost of the subscription. But now I'm taking advantage of it and ordering tickets through Fandango to get $5 off tickets for movies at other theaters/limited anime screenings that the pass doesn't cover. Everyone's a winner I guess. AMC gets me to pay $6.48 for a soda because my ticket is essentially free, and I get to see more movies for less.

And that's why I went and saw the $18 showing of Shazam last night and tonight, because I could. I need 4 tickets by Tuesday so I can get $5 off Penguin Highway. Then I'll have to scramble and see more before the 22nd for $5 off Okko's Inn. Gonna be watching a lot of movies!

Anywho, Shazam was good. As someone who doesn't care for super hero movies in general, and haven't seen any MCU film since the original Iron Man (and only saw Suicide Squad as part of the now retconned DCCU), it was fun! Didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Felt like I was watching a comedy that had serious moments rather than a serious movie with comedic moments. Some of the special effects weren't that good, and one particular character who doesn't age between 1974 and 2018, but none of that really impacted the film all that much.

Also I got my friend to edit again, but also no concrete date on when episode 6 will be done.
