Had a hell of a storm earlier today in Dallas. There were some ridiculously strong winds that, for the first time since moving into my apartment, knocked out the power. Thankfully just for like 5 seconds.
Went around the neighborhood and there was a bunch of fallen trees, ripped off branches laying in the street, a traffic signal was turned over and laying on the ground (but still worked!), along with the siding of one of the apartment units at my complex entirely ripped off, revealing the insulation and plumbing. Thankfully nothing of mine was damage. Just some tree debris on the car.
After like an hour it was clear sunny skies and relatively cool, which made for a nice walk. The Target by my place was open, with the only issues they seemed to have was the front entrance having been flooded and using dryers to dry the carpet, along with the cart returns either having collapsed or shoved away from where they were suppose to be. I was glad since I had absolutely no toilet paper and would've been fucked. Nobody to blame but myself as I kept planning on buying some for the past week but never got around to it.
