I don't think I'll ever have an easy time with backgrounds.

I plan to have the 5th anniversary stream this next Saturday, the 15th. I'll try to finish the announcement drawing sometime tomorrow. By which I mean finish adding text to it, as the drawing itself has been finished for awhile now. I've been super lazy about it. Same with drawing, to be honest. There's been a sketch or two, or attempts at starting something, but I wind up not caring for how it turns out and toss it. Perhaps I should post them sometime.

Speaking of being lazy and not prioritizing my time well, I'm playing through Ys VIII again. Started earlier last week and currently on the start of chapter 5. It's easier this go around as I'm playing new game + and kept all my stats and items and what have yous. Of course the enemies themselves still can't be one hit KOed and take time to kill regardless of the fact my characters are leveled 90+. That and there's a neat option to increase enemy level while increasing the amount of items they drop. This makes farming for crafting materials a hell of a lot easier. Of course not that I need to that much since I had shit tons of material left from my play through a year ago.

It's been nice going through the world again. I really liked all the characters, and the whole cast away story. The writing itself isn't the greatest thing in the world, but it does a good job at making you like everyone and feel sad when the game comes to an end. I remember last year when I gave Hummel shit for being an edgelord character and made fun of him, only to turn around and consider him one of my bros by the end.

Probably would've played this earlier in the year if it wasn't for the fact that I was borrowing my friend's copy of Annihilation for over a year while I lent him Ys. Could never get into the mood to watch it, resorting to forcing myself to just so I could return it with actually seeing it and play Ys. Movie bored the fuck out of me for the first half, resulting in my playing it at 1.5 speed. The ending was pretty neat and had a great disturbing feel to it (especially playing at 1.5 speed), but overall I didn't care for it. At least I watched it.
