Drunk Angela is always fun to draw. Panel 3 took a few attempts in the storyboard to get something fun, and I wound up deviating from it anyway for the final page. At first it was something more cutesy, but I thought her being silly was more fun.

The past two days I finally got around to watching Carole and Tuesday on Netflix. Actually managed to watch all 12 episodes Netflix had released so far. It really is one of Shinichiro Watanabe's better series. There's a lot of great pop music that was made for it with some bitchin' animation to go with those segments. Plus it's loosely in the same universe/time frame as Cowboy Bebop, though it might as well not be connected at all. Best way to put it is while Cowboy Bebop showed the nasty underside of this sci-fi future, Carole and Tuesday show the topside. There's music industry shenanigans, but no shoot outs and explosions.

In my ranking of Shinichiro Watanabe directed series, I currently have it as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Carole and Tuesday, Space Dandy, then Kids on the Slope. I haven't watched Terror in Resonance and heard it wasn't that good, so I didn't bother. Kids on the Slope is kind of an outlier, being based on an existing manga, whereas the others were original stories. Then again, Space Dandy is also a weird exception, as it's a playhouse type show, where different writers, directors, animations, etc. worked on different episodes and outside of having to use a base set of characters, they could do pretty much whatever. This resulted in a wide ranging tone throughout the series. It also resulted in some episodes being super incredible short stories, while other episodes I felt floundered and didn't do much for me. Regardless, I thought it was a fun series that wound up not doing as well as Funimation had hoped for. Oh well.
