Went and saw Promare for the 4th time in theaters last night. Just like every other time, it was splendid. This time around being the redux showing, they added a short couple minute prequel of Galo joining Burning Rescue. It was cool seeing new footage, but it made the movie's exposition on who Mad Burnish is in the beginning feel off, because the short makes it known that the characters already know who they are and already confronted them, but then Ignis is all "What!?" in the movie. I was glad it was dubbed since the last two times I saw it subbed and really prefer watching the film in English just so I can focus on the animation.
In other news, went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time since before 9/11. Had a coupon from T-Mobile for a free large pizza with the purchase of $5 in game tokens. Now, as a kid, I never got pizza whenever I went because it was too expensive. Instead my parents would buy a thing of bread sticks and that's it. It was fine, of course, but I always wanted pizza. As an adult I understand their pizza is pretty low tier, and not caring about ticket based games there's no reason for me to ever set foot inside one. But for $5? Why the fuck not? I got a cheese stuffed crust upgrade and some bread sticks for the nostalgia.
Main complaint was I couldn't get it to go. The manager said it was dine in only, which I don't know if it was because of the coupon having the restriction or Chuck E Cheese having that as a standard policy. Again, no Chuck E Cheese since before 9/11. The fuck do I know? I knew for a fact they had a take out box, so I wound up eating dinner there and then saving the rest for lunch tomorrow.
Things I noticed:
With this visit, I can rest easy knowing there's really no reason for me to ever go to a Chuck E Cheese again. Except if my niece wants to go and my sister/brother in law are paying, because there's no such thing as awful free pizza.
