Sometimes it can be fun to watch from a distance, but more times than not when someone goes onto the mic and winds up going on a bit of a endless spiel, it's not fun.
I also wrote this page before the Interspecies Reviewers stuff happened, which makes the page semi topical? Of course people spread a lot of stupid misinformation on youtube and the like, so I tend to stay away from anime youtubers who have absolutely no connection to industry insights at all and just make up stuff. What makes it worse is that a lot of impressionable teens will consume it and then repeat that stuff as gospel, not bothering to do any real research on their own or listen to people with a history of reliable information. Then sometimes you see people get all up in arms over people who actually know their shit. I can't help but shake my head. Best you can do is try to educate others, but with the way anime fandom works, either they don't care or they fall out of the scene after a few years and another misinformed youngster takes their place and the whole process repeats again. I'm not gonna get deeper into the subject matter on here. You can read my lengthier rantings on the usual channels I hang out in.
In other news:
I actually got more progress done on MGD7! After several months of stabbing away at writer's block, I managed to get to a new scene and continue onward, ever closer to the finish line! In fact, I only have like maybe 1 or 2 scenes left before I'm done with the first draft! The episode will be shorter than 6, but I think my stopping place will make for a nice cliffhanger.
