Ran out of soda and due to the pandemic Walmart and most grocery stores are close at like 9 PM, so I opted to get a couple can of diet Dr Pepper from the vending machine in the laundry room at my apartment. It's 80 cents a can, but it beats getting into my car and driving over to McDonalds or something and getting one there.
Except this time I should've done that.
Every once in a blue moon with Dr Pepper, you can wind up with what I consider to be a defective can/bottle. Like they fucked up mixing the ingredients or something and it comes out tasting something awful. Whenever I hear people who don't like Dr Pepper tell me they hate it because it tastes like medicine, these defects are what I assume to be what they taste. It's shit. Worse, that's 80 cents down the drain. Now I'm stuck in a conundrum: do I finish this shitty as diet Dr Pepper and go get a soda from a nearby fast food joint? Do I risk opening my second can now and checking to see if it too is bad, or let it be for another time?
And before you say "drink water instead," I have a 40 oz cup of water next to me as well.
