I decided to treat myself and spent last month's Patreon income on a steam deck. Went with the base model as it didn't appear to have too much of a difference in speed between loading games from those larger SSD drives and a microSD card. Instead I opted for a 512 gig microSD for extra storage.
Holding it is much more comfortable than holding a switch. With the flatness of the joycons/switch lite, my large manly hands were too big to hold them without feeling discomfort after only like 10 minutes. It's way heavier, so I don't see myself holding it up to play it, but resting it on a propped up pillow won't be so bad. I haven't gotten to play it much as I got it while at work and mostly just set it up and begin the process of moving the ps2 iso's I made last night from my personal collection onto it. I will say this: it's neat that I can play Half Life on the go. Also I do not like playing Half Life on a controller and do not recommend doing so.
Overall it's quite a nice piece of tech!
