Intermission Lounge - Mouthwashing

The Jimmy I know is my older brother. I recently cut him out of my life. My only regret with this decision is that I didn’t think to do it sooner.

Loved this episode and also I jumped up at the Eyebrow Cinema shoutout by John! It’s a fantastic video if anyone hasn’t seen it: https://youtu.be/OBLsmZ1PNrA

I'm not trying to be a dick but you have GOT to learn the power of formatting, paragraphs, and periods. It makes all the difference in the world between unreadable and readable. It makes it impossible to mentally tell where a thought ends and then it's just this mass of slop that no one will ever get through because it's actively assaulting their brain.

Eric Sparrow… how could you mention his name in this sacred place.

9:47 - i'm so glad that i have not run into these types of people that often, these kinds of people are the scariest people in the world for me, but i think because im also so paranoid about this kind of person, i don't think i actually have to worry about these people coming into my life xD 11:00 - i cant imagine how going through life like that must be like, it feels insane to be like, im just doing dialogue options, im just choosing things in service of my own good, i wonder what they choose to say in moments of non scheming? if that even exists? i assume they just dont engage with people they cant get anything out of. 12:00 - it sounds insane, i wonder what people like this do if you have some sort of evidence to the contrary, does it at that point actually contradict with what they told themselves happened? would they actually be confused about it? or is it just like an act? 38:08 - there is a lot to say about fandom, personally im a huge enjoyer of fandoms and the community that they build. whenever they get to be the size of mouth washing's fandom, that is to say, that it happens to catch a large amounts of people's interest all at once, it does transform into a kind of untamable beast. usually when something swells to some thing this size its because it has attracted a lot of younger people, with volatile sentiments and strong opinions. i have a lot of fun spectating and seeing what the fans all present to each other, i love the weirdos and the outlandish fanworks as much as the feel good fluffy stuff, and as someone that likes to take it all in, i feel like the more icky content that's made, is sometimes just simply edgy people making edgy work, like how john mentions, but it can also be people with unresolved thoughts/trauma in their mind that are using the currently popular media they've related to in some way, to explore aspects of their trauma further, or to place it in a fictionalized setting that makes it easier to distance themselves from while still confronting something that they'd like to overcome. all of these kinds of people making things and putting their hard work out there all at once is what causes the tremendous amounts of friction that is negatively associated with fandom, leads to the kinds of infamous incidents like the undertale cookie needle thing. luckily over time these pieces of popular media start to settle down and the more volatile members of its fandom tend to move on to the next piece of media that has exploded in popularity, and what ends up being left is either a smoldering crater, but more likely, some people continuing their long term fan works, analysis, and projects, that more peacefully coexist with eachother, and in some cases the piece of media has such a lasting effect that its fandom truly never dies, like with the TF2 fandom 17 years and still going strong, with new interpretations, new comics, and new fanworks still being made to this day. some fan works are really just as impressive to me as the main work that they are deriving from. but i completely understand too if people are put off by the icky work and chaos that tends to flow out of it as well, i just love watching creative people spur others onto sharing their own creativity as well.

Man I love the content and the intermission lounge as a whole. But discussions about mouthwashing always hit too close to home for me. The Jimmy in my life won, in every conceivable way. And the fallout of that is still constantly disrupting my life. It's nice to hear other people have Jimmy's but man. Still too fresh for me.
