Personally, I like your Cinemasins stuff as much as the politics stuff. I like your systematic "takedowns" of nonsense; not to get too philosophical on you, but in my opinion, there's a connection between the tendency for people to think junk like Cinemasins is witty and accurate and their tendency to think soundbites and political spin are true and a solid basis for their worldviews. People aren't just uncritical consumers of the primary narratives, but of the secondary interpretations of those narratives via talking heads and inaccurate and unfair critiques. So really, tackling Cinemasins is perfectly in keeping with what I see as the valuable work you're doing with your channel. This weird cultural inability to analyse what we're seeing is a problem no matter what we're talking about. Popculture and politics are less and less differentiated these days anyway.

Hah! I do hate the Cinemasins ones because it's like finding fault with Pol Pot's sartorial choices, it's sort of besides the point even if the criticism is legitimate. In general though, I think people support you on Patreon because they really like some of your earlier videos, but not with any real expectation that everything you put out in future has to follow that same direction, that'd be pretty unreasonable. Plus, any update is a good update.

I will gladly pay you all my currency for CinemaSins takedowns. They are the bane of everything I and other professionals do and have led the culture to prioritize unemotional responses to film.

I've seen a lot of cinemasins hate recently, and there's something kinda bothering me about it. CinemaSins is trash. No arguments there, it has bad jokes, comes across as uninformed about its subjects, and is just a lazy format. But when the entire movie review community of youtube slowly became an advertising wing of major studios, why is this what bothers people? It's bad movie jokes in a shitty format.
