Ovens are a reference to the Holocaust’s gas chambers. It’s such a delightful reference mixed in Trump’s 10 feet taller border (the bigger the oven the more people to... I can’t finish this sentence). jesus christ shaun, how did you do this video, I could barely make it through the section of their own words but you watched hours of this abhorrent talk.

Hey man, really good and I think vital video. The one bit I was unsure of was at 41:20 I think. You mentioned the 'oven getting bigger' being influenced by Trump's rhetoric. I didn't understand the reference and it might be worth spelling this out a bit more?

I might add a note explaining the slur against Aboriginal Australians (weird hearing an American say that word, but I guess it's okay for *bigotry* to be globalist). And this isn't that important but if you're feeling nitpicky the 1966 stage musical of Cabaret also included Tomorrow Belongs to Me. The film certainly would have popularized it through. Didn't think I could be surprised about Sargon's useful idiocy anymore! Wow. Thanks for this, it clearly took a ton of work.

Well, I would argue that the police escorting the alt right speakers isn't done solely to protect them from counter protesters, but also to protect bystanders and counter protesters from their accompanying gangs.

I tried to fact-check as much as I could in the short time this video has been viewable, and the few things I made note of, on reexamination, were not problematic or erroneous. Most of the assertions in the video are validated by the words of the people you're commenting on already, and nothing I checked from the Hunton and Williams report were incorrect, either. Granted, I've only been at this for a couple hours, and there's a lot in here to confirm, but nothing stands out so far as needing correction. Well done.

Really interesting, if sometimes depressing stuff. It may be to big of a undertaking before the video goes live, but as someone who is a bit hard of hearing I had a pretty big problem hearing what the protestors were saying when it wasn't subbed. Especially the man at the jewish conspiracy flag and on some other places. But maybe I should consider myself lucky.

17:40 you mentioned you wanted feedback? ... when you say "one thing the police did right" in reference to them protecting the speakers and "VIPs", i think that's gonna be controversial. personally i'm undecided, on the one hand their job is to protect all members of the public from immediate violence, regardless of political views... also, averting violent clashes would protect bystanders as well as the speakers themselves... but on the other hand, the alt right speakers were arguably very likely to incite violence, it is at the very least "kind of a bad look" for the police to be protecting them..

Only little detail I noticed was that at 31:01 you mention there being one NSM flag in the footage James Ulsep showed, but at that time stamp I believe there's a SECOND NSM flag on a stick further afield behind the first NSM flag!! Fascism is a loser ideology.

I'd agree! I'll add that the only part I had real trouble hearing was the guy shouting about Hitler's Germany in front of the Daily Stormer banner, but it'd be useful for other bits too. (Feel free to use asterisks wherever necessary—I know there's more than a few things that I wouldn't feel comfortable typing out.)

Hey Shaun, Great video, I really enjoyed it. One detail I think you need to do is add subtitles to all the clips where we're trying to understand what the protesters are saying. This is pretty common in news footage of somewhat intelligible speaking, and I think it should probably be included here.

Also, at around 36 minutes, you talk about Tomorrow Belongs to Me and its adoption by neo-Nazis. I don't think it'd fit the video, but I always found it funny how this explicitly antifascist musical with music by two Jewish men got appropriated by the very people it antagonizes. Maybe that's more sad than funny, in retrospect, but it's a good piece of trivia.

One potential terminology issue I noticed: at 34:04, you say that Dylann Roof is currently serving a life sentence in prison. That's his state sentence, but he was federally sentenced to death—he's currently on death row. I'm honestly not familiar enough with the prison system to know the exact difference, but wanted to point it out just in case.

Great video! I may have found a small mistake however. I think the James Alsup “I disavow” line in reguards to David Duke was a reference to Donald trump saying “I disavow” when repeatedly confronted about David duke. So a joke, not a real disavowal
