How Privatisation Fails: Railways

Nightmare thumbnail!

Thanks folks. Relatively simple foray into straight-up talking politics here. Testing the waters a bit. I'll keep an eye on the response to this one, as I have several more videos like this in mind. Let me know what you think!

I'd like to make the "yellow peril" video next, but a book i need just will not be delivered for whatever reason. Curses. So it's probably going to be Lauren Southern. hurrah

How Privatisation Fails: Railways

Ha, thought it was clever to open with railways in a series on privatisation, as they're a central plot point in Atlas Shrugged. Lo and behold - you discuss it in the video. Well played, sir. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

A fine analysis! Very well done!

I'm a studying economist and eager to trash on markets, hmu if you'd like some semi-acedemic assistance; this video is a good, but if you ever want to get into something more esoteric and recondite a professional might be good. I'd also like to see your take on the concept of a land value tax as a remedy to some of the issues of capitalist economies.

Nice

You debunking the 'free market'? If so, I'd love a video debunking Agusto Pinochit.

The only people to whom privatization is good are those filling their pockets, pretending their advantages are good for us. In Portugal, privatizations ended in chaos or in the country losing control of our electrical grid. And this one was fraudulent but can no longer be reverted. So amazing!

It's difficult to argue with Libertarians because I've noticed many of them do not like to argue in good faith. Not all of course, but I've really struggled lately because much of their ideology is about benefiting a few at the expense of many. Which, honestly you really could argue and make decent points. Hey, most people think most people are shit. But for some reason, they have to pretend that the free market actually protects the average person when it clearly doesn't. Before there were unions, children and people worked without insurance, crap pay, and had horrible hours. There's nothing stopping company towns from building up and a million other examples from history that are now prevented by government regulations. However, the truth is that most Libertarians do really think that poor people deserve to be poor. And maybe they're right. But if they truly are right, why do they have to dance around it so much? Why do they have to pretend that universal healthcare is actually bad for poor people? Idk, maybe I'm just misunderstanding them. But seems to me that the whole privatization experiment really screwed a lot of people.
