Jiujitsu Video # 4

Non-history post. How to train Judo and/or Jujitsu without messing up your hands

Comments

Hi there! 45 year old brown belt here.Switched to training exclusively no gi back in October last year and my whole body seems to be really thankful of that decision (not just my fingers!) I I was under the impression that older guys MUST only train gi but turns out that the wear and tear is SO much great with the gi that it's ridiculous how many more rolls I can take now.BTW Love to talk dojo talk round here!

Eventually, these grips can give you the same degree of control as gi grips but without the damage :)

History on Fire

I'll have to work on this. I'm a mid 30s blue belt with a trades background. I have a rock solid Gi grip that I probably over-rely on as a tool to force movement / mistakes out of my opponents. My fingers are already reminding me why I got off the tools. Switching to these grips would be both more active and less damaging to my body. Great tip!
