Tracy herself was something of a product of a wandering mind. As I sat in one of my general education college classes one day in a room full of way more people than should reasonably be in any class, my mind began to meander away. I’m not a good artist by any measure, but I felt like doodling that day and so I drew up the original design for Tracy who would become my signature character and at times community stand in. A shy awkward young girl who found herself back in diapers. I was inspired very much by the work of another community writer at the time Mistress Twilight to make a down to earth sort of story of some characters and out of these things the story of Tracy and her new friend Claire, who took up more of the original shyness I had planned for Tracy. What was left of Tracy’s character became one much closer to my own young experience. The youngest child who is a bit of a nerd who found themselves in a new and strange place and tries to push the envelope as far as it might go where they can. Unlike in my own often overlooked experience however, Tracy’s mom is looking after her quite closely and isn’t afraid to do what is needed to help adjust a bad attitude. Even if I never get back to these two, I’m glad the community seems to like them.
