About the upcoming monthly charge
Added 2018-08-31 02:09:46 +0000 UTCPatreon reminds me that my patrons will get charged for August on Sept 1st. I have something to say about it.
Last month, my total pledge was $16 and I was very delighted to see it. But quite to my disappointment, someone who promised to give $5 and to whom I gave special thanks to via message, just declined to pay at the beginning of this month. That was really discouraging.
Though my aim here is not all about money, yet how much expectation there is, the same amount of disappointment will be there when nothing come true. This is really a bad experience, I have to say.
I went onto the Web, and saw a lot of artists complaining that Patreon lacks a mechanism to avoid some "smart guys" from becoming a patron, "stealing" their artwork, and then just disappearing without paying anything.
I don't have too much problem of this kind, because all my work is almost all public and making money is not my aim here. That said, I still don't want anything of this kind to happen here. It may make me feel that I just lost a friend somehow. Hope you can understand this kind of feeling.
And I will release another chara mod around Sept 3rd when all of the payment is done. I trust most of my patrons. You're my sincere friends. But I need to keep an eye on those "smart" guys. To those guys, don't play tricks on me, or you may get blocked.....
Last and most important, thank my patrons for your whole month's support and appreciation for my works. Your support is the only motivation for me to go ahead. Thank you indeed!

2018-09-10 02:27:41 +0000 UTCThere's actually a system to avoid this. It's the pay up front model. But it still seems to only be available for certain creators only. I have it enabled and when someone pledges, they have to pay up front. I enabled it because I was having the same issue you're having right now. Check to see if you have it. Good luck.

I just saw one this morning... This is cheat, have to say. It's not that $1 or so that bothers me, it's the feeling as if they're fooling me. Anyway, I'll never be discouraged by this kind of thing, just a little complaint. Never mind. Most people are good guys, I'm surely encouraged by all your support.

Sorry if a bit off topic, just want to message you. At the moment need to get a valid credit card, I don’t know why Patreon requires a valid credit card if you want to use paypal. So can’t I pledge at the moment.

2018-09-01 02:56:46 +0000 UTCI think at least for the first round, patrons should be charged immediately, right after they become patrons. That's a very easy thing to do, yet Patreon does nothing. And in fact, merely through patronage, few artists can make their livings on Patreon... Everything looks good in advertisement, but sad fact.

I hate that there are people like that out there but unfortunately there are so dont let that get you down. just keep moving along and soon your work will get noticed, youve only just begun dont let these kind of things discourage you. those that truly appreciate your work will make an honest pledge. In the end its how much energy you put into it, the more productive you are the more chances people will start making more pledges with more amounts... anyways good luck I hope you only the best.
