Agreed. It isn't quite the right message to portray people like Brent as a special, heightened kind of evil or irredeemable when there are so many other characters who are literal criminals or who once took pleasure harming others physically who are portrayed sympathetically.

2021-06-19 09:39:03 +0000 UTCIt's a bit weird that Eleanor and Michael get annoyed at Brent treating Janet like an assistant when showing up to answer questions and getting people what they want is her purpose. One can argue that Janet has grown beyond what Janet's regularly do but she was introduced to Brent as "Janet the robot servant" and he's using her accordingly. There are enough reasons to dislike him but his treatment of Janet isn't one, he's not treating her differently than Eleanor and the others did at the start.
