This song immediately grew tiresome the more I heard it played on the radio. I much prefer "When We Were Young" over this. At least in that song she is expressing a genuine emotion.

Is it just me or did Drake just decide to become an Apple ad circa 10 years ago?

Correction: Adele has publicly confirmed that Hello is not about the ex she was addressing in Someone Like You. Todd, I think you should have done a little more research before you recorded this video.

I think you need to consider the fact that the song may very well be written with awareness of the fact that she may be apologizing twice for the same thing. To me, the soft spoken verses represent what she's actually saying over the phone to her ex, while the belting she does in the chorus represents what she wants to say and what she desperately wants him to understand and take away from it, but she's only thinking it instead of saying it. She's being civil and calm in her speech but she's screaming on the inside. And to me, the message is exactly what you said: that Adele is trying to convey that desperation of regret over a bad breakup. And at that, I think the song succeeds amazingly well.

And I guess that'd be why...

I also expected a Rap Critic cameo on the mention of "Marvin's Room." Guess those are over.

I mean shit, even if it WAS about Adele popping in and then leaving again to drop a drama bomb, it's still written well and sounds amazing.

Yeah gonna have to drop a huge "no" on your opinion of "Hello".

I'm sorry Todd, you're awesome but this is one review you majorly dropped the ball on. A quick Google search would've told you that Hello is NOT about an ex, it's about growing apart from people you grew up with, so a lot of your complaints is totally unwarranted

Wasn't Hello written about her strained relationship with her father? and not her ex?

I like how you use old songs ironically at the end of your videos... Does it make you feel old that you're doing that now with songs you've already covered :P

Todd's not wrong about the lyrics of "Hello," but I'm much more forgiving of a song with Adele singing on it than he is. I would probably hate the song if almost any other singer had performed it.

Just as an FYI, the intro credits list the song as "Hotling Bling".

You're gonna get torn to shreds when this episode goes live.

I find this pairing particularly amusing because about a month ago there was that thing where Adele said on a talk show that she loves Drake and Hotline Bling and would love to do a remix of it and Drake responded by saying he'd do Adele's laundry if she asked.
In other words: Todd, I think you're 100% right about them dating and I don't know how we all didn't see it before. You're a genius.
