Funny thing: I originally tried to use the 2004 movie version for that joke, but then I listened to it and was like "Jesus Christ Lindsay was right, this is fucking awful." I don't know how I missed that during my initial viewing, or the many times you were watching it in the background, or the multiple videos you've done on it, but it really sank in once I had to use it for an episode

Funny that you made a Phantom of the Opera reference. There was actually a eurodance version of it. Look for “Harajuku Phantom of the Opera” on the Youtubes. It is as gloriously cheesy as it sounds.

This was a major hit Back In The Day, but because it was also one of the earliest eurodance chart toppers, it was quickly subsumed by tons more in the years after (that scene had a HUGE turnover rate of chart toppers). It had faded away by '95, until the SNL skit revived it for a post-eurodance ironic generation. Now it's remembered as everything noble and pure about eurodance, in all its unabashed, tasty, dance-pop glory. And yes, 'Rock My Heart' is the boss!
