2017-04-27 22:45:00 +0000 UTCI think you could argue that King's second novel, SALEM'S LOT, has just that sort of open ending. King has mentioned that he was planning on writing a sequel but then changed his mind. The short story ONE FOR THE ROAD however is set in the town of Salem's Lot several years later and that answers the 'or is it' question with a resounding yes.
