2021-10-16 16:05:52 +0000 UTCI was an undergraduate physics student back when the da Vinci code was published and Angels and Demons got its second stab at fame, and at one point during my studies I got the chance to visit CERN. It doesn't look anything like the fancy campus described in the book, instead most of the aboveground buildings are quite run down. Presumably because they spend all their funding on the accelerators, with just a little left over for the visitors center. Also, maybe we should start referring to the kind of power fantasy you describe in the video as "a Langdon".

She's pretty sensitive (not quite pearl-clutching) against anything that mocks churches/Christianity, but she loves Tom Hanks, so she developed a cognitive dissonance where the anti-religion themes didn't exist. I don't know what she thinks the movies are about, nor do I understand why she's seen Angels and Demons more than once.
