Updating the clothes of purple boy

I guess it also helps if I detail the origins of his outfit. The outfit, as well as the character, was actually based on this drawing from 2019.

It was a one-off character, which just happened to come my mind when I started thinking about doing something in 3D one summer.
Ever since I've thought about updating his attire. He kind of stuck out from any environment he was put in because, well, of his skin tight cat suit and hefty bulge. I wanted to give him a look that would retain parts of the original, while also making it feel a bit more practical. I also wanted to have his cloth wrinkle and behave more realistically, so I needed to plan it with simulation in mind.
Enter Marvelous Designer.
Marvelous Designer is a tool that you can license that is fantastic for creating and simulating clothing. It also cost me 50€ to license for a month. This is where your Patreon money goes.
Where it differs from polygon modeling or sculpting, is that you actually design the wardrobe as if you were using real tools and sowing the pieces together on top of your model. It's also fun as hell.

So at the time of writing, I'm still in the process of tweaking the visuals, but most of the details are present. The purple boy will be donning a tiny hoodie on top of the cat suit. The sleeves are trimmed shorter and the bracelets are gone, since those were sometimes very awkward to animate.

That's it for this week's 3D update!
