Shrek, Silver Draon, Xunji, Bibi Dong coming in clutch, Daoliu making an entrance and persuading Saixi, and Saixi eventually praying for him fills his mind, but he lays low. The harsh light of Spiritual Skills and sheer Law of Life radiating from Bi Ji and Yin starts to dwindle, their expressions paling as Bibi Dong finds herself supporting Yin, and Zi Ji is beside Bi Ji, staring at the purple blob.
His mind has been restored—Not fully. But his mental core—Life-Death Spirit Cauldron—starts working once the bits of Asura's intent dissolve under the effects of the Law of Life. Ah-Yin’s and Bi Ji’s healing only proves so helpful because of his body actively trying to repair itself, or else his soul would have utilized a significant chunk of it, barely leaving anything for his mind and body.
‘And those strange monsters. There is a reason why I didn’t want to use my second martial soul easily. Now my martial soul remembers the other point and will take a long time to shift the coordinates.’
His second martial soul has always been a mystery to Ja Sun until he used Blood, Evil, and Slaughter Egg to refine his domain—The Battlefield of Madness. He instinctively understood the use of his second martial soul then and there.
The most basic ability of his Evil Title body-type martial soul is to summon any evil-attributed Spirit Beast on the planet. He used this power when Xunji wished to kill him at the budding age of 6, summoning the Devilgod Tiger—which happened to be the nearest. Ja Sun never used this skill from then on. His host had been traumatized enough not to even step on the path of the Spirit Masters while Ja Sun himself focused on the offensive capabilities of his second Martial Soul.
The second aspect of the Evil Title—the skills from his spirit rings—are all the same: To summon creatures from another ‘Heaven’ into this one, marking every single of his summons under his temporary control as Evil. That’s all. And also Ja Sun’s reason for not paying any attention to Evil Title.
After all, his Beast martial soul: Three-Eyed Silver Sage, provides him with several abilities and an insane comprehension ability, but Evil Title? Not so much.
His body really did not have enough intelligence to use their other abilities.
Just like his mental core, his physical core—Yin-Yang War Physique—starts working overtime with all the stored energy as his spirit core—Immortal Buddha King—pumps spirit energy without stopping for his physical core to utilize and reform his body’s finest aspects.
Since regaining his mind, it takes Ja Sun four minutes to reach his peak state, but he lays low.
He observes his fourth core—Beyond Evil—and grows more satisfied. His body’s earlier recovery is all thanks to this core. The Darkdevil God Tiger brought Ja Sun too many gifts, and even his spirit skills bring no other advantage—his external tail-bone and torso bone have good abilities.
Clearly not enough for the greedy Ja Sun, but not many things satisfy Ja Sun once he returns to his mojo either way.
This core consumes energy and transforms it into any kind of spectrum of energy needed, including the comprehension of devoured elements themselves!
In Ja Sun’s eyes, the Devilgod Tiger had been too tame in using this ability!
He then focused on the build-up of the Law of Control within him.
This ability works too well with his other Laws because of refined control of the uses of the Law itself. But being this abstract, Ja Sun instinctively knows he can comprehend more of this Law to control other aspects of reality in their existing nature—living or non-living.
However, it is similar to how Daoliu uses his Law of Comfort momentarily.
‘Potty training should go easy with this if my kid is still an infant. I hope so.’
Now comes the question—Why is Ja Sun lying low?
Why not return to his wives and give them the biggest hug after they saved him?
The answer is far more immature than one might imagine.
‘This is a prime pranking moment,’ Ja Sun contemplates with his sage-like wisdom. ‘If I don’t make use of this, then I may as well spit on my growth in this world!’
He could do so many things, but one of Yin’s comments during the time of their confrontation with him stuck with him.
‘Indeed. Yin has been using her vines in the bedroom constantly. Why didn’t I make use of my External Bone like that?’
‘Let’s see. I need to separate them.’
Even now, Ja Sun believes there is a ‘right’ way to approach women. He never made use of ‘orthodox’ ways of this world, like making a bet, to win the affection of his women. And he damn well didn’t just become a God and eye another man’s woman despite having a history of assaulting said woman’s mother.
He admits the romance of this world is slightly skewed. There are women like Ja Yin, who may try many things to bed the man they like, or Xiao Wu and Xiao Bei, who don’t find the notion of sharing a bed with the same man ridiculous. Even his sweetest Violet is beginning to show some similar tendencies.
But Ja Sun’s not into all of it.
So, his gigantic body moves.
Silver glaze glitters thousands of slimy tendrils that drill through spatial threads to appear beside Zi Ji, Bi ji, Snow, and Lan Ruo to teleport them back into his spatial artifact as he simultaneously uses the Law of Fire to light a ring of flames around a startled and exhausted Yin and Bibi Dong.
His divine saber teleports to attack her divine scythe while his fire cannon uses the divine energy to pressure her weapon before Bibi Dong can use her Undead Spider Emperor fusion to deplete him of energy. The ring of fire rises and becomes a massive curtain to hide the duo from others’ gazes as slimy tendrils coil around his wive’s limbs, including six of Bibi Dong’s arms, before suspending midair with their limbs stretched out.
“They aren’t your enemies!” Saixi cries out in surprise, trying to render Ja Sun without aggression again, while Daoliu frowns, too.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the curtain, Ah-Yin narrows her eyes and speaks to the softly grunting Bibi Dong.
“I didn’t think he’d take my words seriously,” she eyes the calm sea of purple. “But you’re sorely mistaken to believe you’re getting anywhere near me without being present when I gave birth to our Ja Liang.”
The slimy tendrils stiffen before Ja Sun’s naked body slides out of the purple sea with his feet extending into said slime, shocking Bibi Dong before she lets out an exasperated groan.
“Please tell me you didn’t name our son Ja Liang.”
Ja Sun stares at the proudly smirking woman, “It’s good, no?”
The tendrils gently let down Yin and Bibi Dong, just like how Yin let him down, as he falls to his knees with defeat written all over his face.
“Woman, your naming sense is worse than Xunji’s existence!”
Bibi Dong, meanwhile, undoes her self-spirit fusion as her exhausted body hits a couch of slime.
“What’s wrong with Ja Liang?” Yin frowns.
“It’s the same Oliver-Caihong conversation!”
She crosses her arms and scoffs, “Caihong is an objectively better name.”
Ja Sun purses his lips before snorting, “Even my mindless body from before would disagree before attacking you with nothing holding back!”
Their stares lock against each other before Yin’s smile softens, whispering, “Welcome back. I didn’t have to stab your heart this time to get you to listen to reason.”
“Feels good to be back. And I’d love the treatment any time of the day,” Ja Sun smiles back before laughing, “Please tell me I didn’t miss my son’s—”
“Ja Liang.”
“Fine, Ja Liang’s golden years.”
“I could use some help,” Bibi Dong interjects with her clothes in tatters as she hugs the poisonous cushion with a comfortable expression.
“Say, sweety, is Ja Liang a better name?” Ja Sun looks at Bibi Dong.
“It’s just a name, better than Ja Sun even.”
“So, you two just decided to welcome me like this? With insults?” Ja Sun huffs before grinning. “Love it! Now, let me slowly recede my body and let seawater fill the abyss I’ve carved around the Sea God Island. Wait, correction. We’re gonna call it the Sage God Island. It’s ours, after all. Our home~!”
Ah-Yin shrugs, “Don’t die easily the next time.”
“Indeed,” adds a tired Bibi Dong.
“There won’t be a next time. I’ll be more prepared,” Ja Sun narrows his eyes and affirms with a calm smile. “The days of getting my hand blown, losing my hair, and having my cores punctured come to an end. After all, I am in control now.”
Feeling an odd sense of subtle content in Ja Sun, the two women grow confused for a second as he rubs the back of his head and adds, “And Yin.”
“Yes?”
Ja Sun looks at her straight, admitting his one lapse in judgment when it comes to controlling himself that he realized in his stasis—leading to all this madness in the first place.
“I’m sorry. I focused too much on getting back at Poseidon than realizing that beef with him isn’t worth placing over the idea of getting revenge for what he did to you while you protected me.”
Ah-Yin’s eyes widen briefly, but she knows Ja Sun too well to understand this isn’t the end.
“So? What will you do?”
“I’m going to end things not out of personal vendetta. That feels too boring for me. Even Xunji isn’t worth getting personal over, not after seeing what Bibi Dong did to him. I’m going to pick a fight with Poseidon again to take his treasures, that’s all~!” A wild wave of delight dances in his emerald-gold pupils as Yin and Dong stare at him with apt fondness. “And I will pick on Xunji because that motherfucker is a source of good blood-law-related divine materials! I need some of that for my growth.”
Bibi Dong’s lips curl into a devious smirk, “Got it. I’ll retake my empire. You can use him as you see fit.”
“Of course, after all, you’re the leader. I wouldn’t be here if not for you,” Ja Sun grins back before clapping his hand, “So, my pretty ladies! We’re back in business. No more tribulations. No more sudden departure to another space and time because of a core! And no more distractions aside from the stuff we do behind closed doors and taking care of our children! We end things right!”
“Our children? You mean yours and Yin’s, right?”
Bibi Dong frowns as Ja Sun’s smile deepens.
“Right?”
“I know you said no until you became a Goddess, but how about I try and persuade you otherwise in a more intimate manner to resolve the issue?” Ja Sun smirks, wagging his brows as the slime underneath begins shifting—receding—into Ja Sun’s feet as he looks at the sky.
“One more thing. Now that we know Shrek was a real entity, it’s time we use his departure to add a bit of charm to the legend of yours truly!”
Slime tears off Ja Sun’s body before flying high in the sky in gigantic patches, shocking the denizens of the newly dubbed Sage God Island and the rest of the nearby continents.
—I am Coming For You.
- Beast God, the Devourer of the Mythical Shrek—
“What’s that for?” Yin muses.
“Whoever thinks I will come for them,” Ja Sun cackles. “Let them quiver in their boots if need be. We’ll need to attack Xunji at once, without fail, but the other one should be aware she is the first I would target.”
“And this is wise?” Bibi Dong frowns, finding Ja Sun shrugging. “Remember how I said I may die? Well, I don’t plan to. At all. I realized I’m having too much fun to even have a shred of regret at the thought of passing on. So, I’m going to continue.”
With that, he looks around and stretches his arms, “So, how about you guys enjoy the show? I won’t take too long.”
“Now?” Yin frowns.
“Makes sense,” Bibi Dong hums and sits on the moving couch as it finally reaches Ja Sun. “You just devoured her heart. No reason to give her more time. She must still be reeling from my poison.”
“And I love you for that~!” Ja Sun helps her up before kissing her gently, making Bibi Dong’s haggard expression brighten as she disappears into his spatial artifact.
“So, you weren’t going to have regrets by dying and letting your son die with you?” Ah Yin narrows her eyes, the platform of slime under her feet moves toward him, too, until she stands before him.
“For all I knew, all of you died before me. I don’t regret anything I do, that’s what you fell for, remember?”
“I remember falling for your love for pain, you pervert,” she narrows her eyes.
“Makes sense, I don’t regret that either,” she pulls her close with ease, another tendril of slime meanwhile carrying Saixi to the land beside Daoliu as his lips touch Yin’s incredibly soft ones.
“I still remember that joke you made years ago,” he looks at her. “It’s no wonder you have such a shitty naming sense with that mouth of yours.”
“Careful,” Yin retorts, her hand gripping her ride, “I know how quickly you regenerate. Don’t make me cut it off. Even you won’t like it.”
“You underestimate me, mother of my child.”
“So do you, father of my child.”
Their smirks broaden as he pecks her again, whispering, “Go, do your thing. When I return, I’m definitely ignoring you and spending some time with Ja Liang. I get to choose the name next time.”
“We’ll see if you live that long,” she leans forward to peck his lips, too, before disappearing.
“Huff, this is taking too long,” he looks around, holding his divine saber out of nowhere before instantly absorbing his External Skin Bone and filling the thick chasm with ice without stopping. His master can wait. Only his wives need to get any preferential treatment despite every passing second being useful to tame his first target.
As he disappears, Daoliu looks at the thick ice around which the various beasts from another world continue to walk around in a startle while looking back at the icy dome blocking their paths off.
“Huh, this could end worse.” He smiles wryly, earning Saixi’s cold stare only for a suffocating pressure to knock all the beasts out around the duo.
“I’ll break off the ice later, get it?” Ja Sun’s impish snicker appears to their senses as Daoliu and Saixi look at each other.
“I did not understand the intent behind his words. I feel he was making a joke.”
Daoliu traces his jaws before shrugging.
“It wasn’t a terribly good one. But then again, he gets a pass given the circumstances.”
Saixi nods before calmly whispering.
“Tell me the last of Tang Chen. I need to hear it. Don’t leave any details.”
“Very well,” Daoliu smiles softly and sits cross-legged.
“Let me start by saying his timing at doing things remain terrible. To interrupt my disciple’s wedding, no less!” Daoliu chuckles with unveiled fondness as Saixi sits down similarly and lets her exhausted mind go down memory lane to have her closure of this event, too.
All of ‘it’ has passed, and things will get better.
