Title: 30 Years?

It was natural, of course. Saixi worried for nothing. The sight of Xiao Bai eventually getting chummy AND ‘Smutty’ with the Beast God and the younger generation surpassing her in every way imaginable, perhaps, pushed her to the end of her wits and patience. Unlike Daoliu, it took her a considerable time to step forward with every growing rank. She admits she isn’t a freak like Daoliu. It took her three years to return to her peak—three years in the real world, translating to thirty in the Hypertonic Lion Tamer. Daoliu instead took 13 years. The difference would feel galling if not for other annoying things in her life.

For instance, Daoliu is back in the ‘Market.’ If Xiao Bai is correct, it’s that seductress Lana’s tempting words wrapped by an innocuous display. But Bei and Wu were adamant that it took a ‘Boy’s’ Night out for Daoliu to celebrate his return to becoming Rank 99. ‘Boy’s Night,’ what a farce. What do men even talk about? The number of times they have intercourse with their wives? The positions? Pathetic. She frowns again. Maybe she is wrong. But that’s all the women around her usually find interest in. Even more annoying is Xiao Bai and Ja Sun becoming a thing. She should have seen it coming with how Bai would play with her hair, try and bite Ja Sun’s neck to show off her superior fangs, and spread her legs wide open at the beach till Ja Sun had to teleport the children away frantically.

Hmm. Maybe Ja Sun did Bai to stop all that. It would certainly be more convenient. He gets another woman to spread his seed in, and Bai quits her ridiculous mating dance. Again. Was that how it was supposed to work? Saixi doesn’t claim grand knowledge about romances. Ming Wei does claim such titles, but Saixi knows better. The Sea Woman Douluo likes to expose herself in the empty streets of her city and can’t settle for any man since she might enjoy her thrills a lot more. Ming Wei does remind Saixi of Feng Liu. One would imagine it a common topic for Saixi and Bibi Dong to bond over—forget it.

Back on topic, Saixi’s only romance of the century failed to understand her hint, searched for a way to Godhood, and passed the end moments of his life with Daoliu, of all people! Daoliu did get it all—talents AND men!

But her recovered cultivation and Ja Sun’s love life aren’t the only changes around her. There are more children outside the Temporal realm within their shared Beach Mansion.

Lana and Xie Xan seem content with two children. Oscar and Jun’er, despite their passion, refrain from having another child to actively focus on themselves and catch up to the rest. Jun’er was always talented but lacked focus. She was the kind to follow her lover’s steps, like a ‘dog.’ Heh. Saixi isn’t dim enough not to smile about foolish jokes in solitude.

Yuehua and Erlong bore Ja Sun two beautiful daughters, and Ja Yin—ugh!

Saixi still feels shaken up. How can a woman endure four boys inside her stomach? And Ja Yin still wants MORE! It didn’t help Zi Ji got pregnant alongside Ja Yin, bringing another pair of twin daughters to the world. Saixi imagined Bei hopping on that impregnation kink. Everyone recalls how much of a bitch Zi Ji and Erlong were during their pregnancy, but with how Bei talked about it, Saixi figured the rabbit’s mother found distinct pleasure in being pushed against the floor, walls, chair, and cupboards. But no. Xiao Bei, for one, TALKED with Ja Sun and explained her unwillingness to bear another child. Saixi recalled how afraid Bei was a few minutes before disclosing her wishes. It was laughable.

Saixi could imagine any tyrant losing his top after hearing Bei’s explanation. They would question if Bei found them incapable. They would find it insulting. But not Ja Sun. Saixi knew it, of course. Perhaps it’s his emotional tolerance, but Ja Sun can empathize and understand mature things. It’s the petty, immature insults that rile him up. Bei did not want to have another kid to keep her relationship with Wu as simple as possible. Ja Sun understood that. Saixi appreciated Bei’s confidence in her at the time. Bei requested Saixi to accompany her and wait outside. What Saixi did NOT appreciate was Bei only walking out of the door with her long brown hair in a state of dishevel alongside Feng Liu, and they both stunk like each other and HIM!

Where the fuck did Feng Liu even come from? His closet?

Speaking of beast children, Ja Sun’s children are like Violet. He predicted they wouldn’t awaken Martial Souls, but their descendants eventually would. Something is interesting about them that caught Saixi’s attention. Ja Sun said they wouldn’t be precisely like Violet and undergo a beast’s evolution. Meaning that Ja Yin’s array succeeded, and their children were more humans than beasts. They could be an entirely new thing—only time would tell.

First, there were beasttakens, then human mutations like Violet alongside humans with bestial mutations, and now Ja Sun’s offspring.

Yes. It’s as Saixi believed. Of all the changes, Daoliu entered the ‘market’ with grand success, finding a lover an hour later after revealing his intention of spending time on ‘himself’ galls Saixi… and Ja Sun the most.

“But why does it bother him?” Saixi frowns before shaking her head. No matter! It’s been 30 years! She’s had plenty of time to think things through. She’s ready to—

She sighs.

‘Am I robbing the cradle?’ She thins her lips at the thought. Despite his strength, Ja Sun is young. She then recalls the peculiarly stellar, nigh-divine beauty of a Dragon rocking him, who is eons old!

‘Maybe I’m not old enough?’ She frowns. ‘He is hooking up with 100,000-year-old beasts! Maybe he is the weird one. Maybe I should learn to be like Daoliu. He is carefree and does what he likes. Of course, it’s annoying that ‘what’ he likes currently is a 29-year-old widow of a regular in his stalls who loves his centipedes. Ugh.’

Why can’t men around her be standard?

And she means every man! Forget Daoliu and Tang Chen. Take Xie Xan, for example. He is a perfectly wise and talented guy. He had Ou Ya at his wit’s end. And Ou Ya is one of the most intelligent men in the Seven Children of the Sea. But he doesn’t—well, maybe taking Xie Xan as an example wasn’t the smartest thing to do.

Oscar! Yes. Why are the Incantations of his martial soul so lewd?

Why does Sea Dragon have to watch other aquatic beasts mate for his entertainment? He believes others don’t know, but Saixi does!

Why does Seahorse need to set the tea table peculiarly before he can slide anything down his gullet?

Why does Sea Spear have to moan in contentment when he polishes the tip of his spear collection?

Why does Sea Fantasy have to pet an illusionary snake and create an illusionary treat for him?

Why does Sea Star have to frequent Daoliu’s stall and commission several exotic cooked insects?

Why does Sea Ghost keep accepting more scandalous magazines from Ming Wei despite knowing how raunchy they are?

No, she cannot act like Daoliu at all. She shudders at the thoughts of munching insects. Sea ‘Insects’ are acceptable, but the land ones are disgusting! Besides, it doesn’t matter if he reached rank 99 earlier than her. They both stand on similar levels, with only their skills differentiating them. The duties of the Priesthood no longer bound them. Both have an equal chance to rush the Divine Tribulation and become Gods!

Perhaps she can control her urges to surpass Daoliu once and for all while he wastes time on someone else.

“But what if he surpasses you WHILE wasting his time? Wouldn’t you feel humiliated?” The devil’s voice whispers beside her. “Hmm. It would be humiliating AND regretful.”

“Why are you here?” Bo Saixi snarks. Xiao Bai may be a ‘Playful’ Elder Sister in their lonesome since the shark took care of Saixi during her younger years, but she isn’t the only one Saixi made friends with during these 30 years. Xiao Bei, Wu, and Gu Yuena took a peculiar interest in the priestess, with the latter finding more joy in teasing Saixi about all sorts of things. The silver-haired woman lazing on the couch hums, “I also wonder what I am doing here. Ah. I remember. Ja Yin’s children are terrifying for the first few hours. I wouldn’t want to be around Ja Sun while he handles his children.”

Bo Saixi thins her lips. “Shouldn’t you help him out? The effects are getting noticeable.”

“Ja Sun knew the risks,” Yuena closes her eyes. “He understood the more Martial Soul he ‘absorbs,’ the longer he needs to rest before accepting another one. It’s a fortune he created this time-dilated realm, or he wouldn’t get enough time. But rest alone will not be enough after absorbing Zi Ji.”

Gu Yuena, Bi Ji, and Zi Ji—Ja Sun’s three new ‘Martial Souls.’ And Saixi knows who the remaining four martial souls are.

Her expression turns grim when she recalls Ja Sun’s declining health. Others around him are sincere enough to act normal. No, that’s incorrect. They believe in Ja Sun to the point that it’s subconsciously a type of worship. His family has not a shred of doubt in their minds he will prevail no matter the circumstances. Even so, Saixi has her worries. Ja Sun’s image, in a certain sense, surpasses Tang Chen’s legend. But nobody can be sure until the end of the road. Path to Godhood is fraught with troubles for everyone!

“And if you’re worried about his declining health, maybe I shouldn’t tell you that only half of him is feeding the children. The other half is happy acting as the ‘bridge’ between Xiao Bai and Lan Ruo.”

Saixi snaps out of her thoughts with a deadpan, glaring at Yuena. “Why aren’t you anywhere else?!”

“I enjoy spending time with you,” Yuena smiles. Yet, Saixi also witnesses a sardonic sparkle in the dragon’s purple eyes. As with all things in life, it’s a circle of behavior. She feels ‘oppressed’ under Ja Sun’s prankish behavior, so Yuena vents by being the same jerk to others!

Perhaps it’s time Saixi took matters into her own hands and stuck it to the root cause!

---

Was she supposed to die the second Beast God rejected her desires to become his fourth Martial Soul after Yuena? Maybe it's the scars left by her former mate doing the talking. The Whale King brooked no rebellion and saw others fit until their use. That’s why Lan Ruo eliminated Whale King’s mates nearing the cultivation of 100,000 years behind his back. The threat to her position meant a danger to her life.

But around Beast God? She was never the strongest. And he never saw others for their use. Perhaps it’s due to his resourcefulness. Lan Ruo still has to think about what criteria Beast God desires to hold his family so dear. It cannot be their power. Lan Ruo understands other beasts like her, maybe except Violet. Strength is as arousing as it is curious to them. But she noted an eventual shift. Yet, she wondered why she was still around.

She didn’t dare voice her thoughts until she learned about Xiao Bei’s rather courageous claim of not wanting Ja Sun’s child. But she lived happily so.

“If I’m useless, why haven’t you killed me?” She voiced it.

“Useless? Ja Liang loves you. You did nanny him, right? And you’re easy to get along with. Violet and Ja Yin are always eager to practice more because they have you as a competition. Bibi Dong digs your rational outlook. So, you aren’t useless just because I said I want some time to think about making you my Martial Soul.”

She remembers frowning at that answer. It made little sense to her. She also looked after her own daughter until she left with Ja Sun. She believed the remembrance of her former mate near her potentially current one would risk her chances. But something annoyed her. Why can’t someone of his power act like one?

“I have a daughter back in my tribe. She isn’t anywhere near being a 100,000-year-old beast, but I hope to bring her.”

“Sure.”

Her annoyance grew at that casual response.

“Does it not bother you to see someone else’s daughter? You claim to be the God, yet you act the part of a cuckold!”

“Ugh,” he tilts his head. “I think you’ve got it backward? But I don’t care as long as what I do satisfies me. But are you alright? Heh. I think you’re unraveling. You could use a little ‘control.’

Her fists clenched. “I do not understand.” She dodged his gaze so she didn’t remember his expression. “I left my daughter to attain more power, yet you deny me the chance. I did everything you asked! But you still give others more importance. If I’m so useless, just end me already! Why did I make so many sacrifices until today? Why do you find little importance in me?!”

“If you miss your daughter, go meet her. I’ll tag along so that Xunji doesn’t get you by surprise. And if you feel useless, note the reasons and work on them. I believe what you’re doing is projecting and venting.”

She felt a firm and comforting hand on her shoulder. “Besides, you’re not useless. And to prove that, I promise I’ll keep this discussion a secret to prevent Bai from making a laughingstock out of you. Oh,” he added, “Gu Yuena and Bi Ji are still in there.”

“Why did you have to say that?” Gu Yuena’s voice emerged from Ja Sun, followed by Bi Ji’s comforting words. “Lan Ruo, he isn’t like your former mate. And I believe the definition of cuckolding will make your former mate a partial cuckold since Beast God killed him and took you—technically.”

It was comforting to Lan Ruo.

“And I’m just not into absorbing a pure-element-based Martial Soul,” he smirked. “But you’re on top of the list for a water-based martial soul.”

That was even more comforting.

“And you will forgive my words just like that?” Lan Ruo questioned as he shrugged. “Since when did asking questions and clearing your doubts become a transgression?”

Yet, she can’t have that. His words should have relieved all her doubts by now, but some issues don’t sway readily. She desired something concrete, something she could physically feel—something an aquatic skank like Xiao Bai already did, who didn’t have a hint of shame stretching in such lurid ways in the presence of her Master’s children!
