Title: A Jinchuriki Made; A Jinchuriki Lost

Mito sealed the recovering Yonbi in one of the three rooms of her cottage. In fact, she built her house around Yonbi since she couldn’t move it without disturbing its seal—one of the two reasons Iwa was aware of Yonbi’s supposed location, the other one being the very sea bubbling above them.

And there’s a good reason for the bubbling sea. Yonbi needs Nature's energy to recover AND reforge his body. It’s an instinctive process, almost like a Fuinjutsu is given life to perform specific actions and duties.

No, they are living and Fuinjutsu. Kyubi said something about their seal opening incorrectly when Mito divided them, letting loose some end-of-the-world creature. Frankly, Kai would consider ‘Miss. Shiro Akane’ as said creature if she wasn’t so small, cute, and cuddly.

The Genjutsu of Rinnegan she conjured? At this point, Kai wouldn’t be surprised if he found that Rikudo wasn’t the only one with Rinnegan, given how many instances he’s stumbled upon connected with the God of Shinobi—The Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, Tailed Beasts, and Elemental Temples. It’s no wonder Rikudo is called the God of Shinobi. That man is everywhere, his influence and legends noted across the continent.

Speaking of speechless things, Mito’s seal around Yonbi was, at best, rudimentary. She did so not to interfere with Yonbi’s recovery. Such a seal did not stop the flow of energy for Yonbi’s recovery, but it also did not block the influence of Yonbi’s chakra from escaping into the sea, causing it to boil. Kai humbly admits he isn’t versed in the physics of things as he academically exceeds in the ‘chakra’ of things. Though, it ‘feels’ legit.

And it IS hot. Kai is sweating bullets as he enters the sealed room, scrunching at the heavy stench of sulfur yet again. The tips of his hair would singe, and his skin would feel worse for wear had he not entered his Sage Transformation just to endure the expansive, spacious hall of bubbling lava around a curled being of red-hot chakra. Creating any structure in the sealed space would be foolish since it will all burn and turn into molten lava. Kai himself stands atop a platform of earth jutsu currently melting.

Others might wonder if it was a tad quicker. He met Yonbi yesterday, and the beast agreed to become his tailed beast without much resistance despite the duration. Kai had such doubts, too.

“What does time have to do with anything? We, the Biju, are timeless creatures. And our trust is earned with sincerity, not the passage of time. Don’t compare me to one of the poor lasses you duped into being your lover, brat! Besides, you’ll explicitly know when you have my full trust.”— The Progenitor of Red Chimps, The Possessor of Mighty Four Spiked Tails, Yonbi.

Kai smirks at the recollection of those words before getting to work. Yonbi needs another year to recover, his words. But Kai doesn’t possess the time. And he isn’t the kind to let a ‘treasure’ sit, especially when Kiri and Iwa know its possible location. Yonbi’s recovery within Kai would take a significant hit, or it would be the case had he been mentally weak and without Yonbi’s assistance. But with those two boxes checked, additionally, his ability to absorb Nature's Energy into his seal would instead boost Yonbi’s recovery.

Talk about being perfect.

Still, Kai hesitates briefly. It was going too good to be true. Most of his life, well, new life—has been that way, but something continues to gnaw at the back of his mind. His meeting with Yonbi feels a little too easy.

‘It’s that seal,’ Kai activates his Byakugan. Being a Sage allows his Byakugan to visualize the flow of Nature's Energy and allows him to see the seal at the core of Yonbi’s being. Kai would like to study it in depth, but circumstances aren’t on his side. He could either risk blowing up Iwa’s and Kiri’s retaliation the second they realize a ‘wannabe’ wants to steal their Biju, or he can keep things efficient and quiet.

Kai prefers the latter.

‘Oh, well. The new seal is airtight, so it’s not Yonbi I need to worry about. Besides, he doesn’t seem the kind to plot something for the sake of it.’

Kai gets to work. He will need to replace the seal on his forehead with a customized seal he tweaked with Mito’s help. He could do it alone, but Mito’s assistance quickened the process considerably.

[Strength of Drake Symbols (1/1)]

The seal not only kept the Biju’s unintentional/intentional interference into his chakra coils through negative emotions at bay but let Kai use the space as his usual storage of Senjutsu Chakra for later use. The initial phase of Nature’s Energy will go into Yonbi for his recovery, but when the beast recovers, Kai expects to have an automatic recharger of Nature’s Energy since Yonbi seems to believe all Tailed-Beasts are capable of wielding Senjutsu Chakra in their unique manners.

It’s intriguing, but with how other Biju seems to hate his guts during their initial meeting, Kai expects it to take a long time to understand all the Biju’s depths.

The marks around his face and eye twist as sealing scriptures burst from his hands, not needing any other medium except his Senjutsu chakra to travel and coil around Yonbi’s bubbling mass.

‘I wonder why others bitch about sealing a Biju. It’s fucking easy.’

He muses calmly—

---

“WHAT THE FUCK?!” Kai’s scream may have echoed through Mito’s seal and the sea as he looked at himself in the mirror.

“Pfft,” Mito snickers while sipping on relatively simple tea. Ah, it seems like payback hit Kai without her needing to do anything about his frivolous and teasing attitude.

“Why?” Kai mutters again, feeling a sense of loss despite everything he gained. “Why did I have to look like this? I was happy being a ‘Dragon!’

His shoulders slump while he feels something ‘twitch’ behind him.

“Oh! Your tails twitched!” Mito guffaws while sounding mature and elegant while the corner of Kai’s lips twitch.

Kai called Yonbi a Monkey-Gorilla Hybrid so much that he didn’t expect the same thing to happen to his Sage Transformation. He wants to be Konoha’s Dragon again! He still can, of course, but it would be a cosmetic change at best. Sage Transformations work based on the ‘baseline’ chakra used with the enzyme to attain said transformation. Kai’s version utilized Orochimaru’s Senjutsu Chakra.

Now?

There’s another addition—Yonbi.

His once spiky, shoulder-length grey-blue hair is now a coat of red mane, like Jiraiya’s knee-length hair. The two horns, hardened from the extension of his skin, possess a plate-like texture connecting the two horns’ base, like Yonbi’s horns. His sclera is still black, and his eyes are pale yellow. Fortunately, he didn’t grow tusks, either. Instead, his bark-like skin acquired a green tint, and four red tails swayed behind him.

He is a Monkey-Dragon.

Scales and Fur.

Mito yelps when she sees Kai suddenly tug the waistband of his trousers.

“And it looks thicker.”

She hears him mutter.

Thicker than what? His cock without Sage Transformation or his dimensions after he transformed.

The tail turns into motes of deep red chakra and breaks apart, his hair recedes and loses its red taint, and the green on his skeen recedes into his forehead before turning into a deep-red, circular mark—[Strength of Drake Symbols.]

Of course, there are significant changes to his body besides his Sage Transformation—besides his Hybrid existence.

He feels powerful. No, that’s an understatement.

He feels like ‘Kushina.’

He feels hungry and suppressed but also on top of the world! Others might believe that utilizing 40% of his base chakra reserve to host Yonbi was a waste, but they aren’t Kai and do not understand that he can save as much chakra as he likes in the seal hosting Yonbi.

Not only that—

[New Title Detected.]

[Yonbi’s Jinchuriki: Passively boosts Earth and Fire Affinity, reduces the cost of Earth and Fire Nature Skills, reduces the requirement to master Earth and Fire Nature skills by 25%. Increases the favorability of other Tailed-Beasts.]

That shit’s awesome! Kai believes he can grind his way to Lava Release without needing stem cells from a Lava User or Yonbi due to his enhanced affinity with Fire and Earth Nature Releases. His ‘affinity’ with Water and Earth Nature increased by 20% when he mastered Mokuton, but King Yonbi gifted him 25% from the beginning! How can one not love that oversized Chimp?!

As for his Chakra?

90% of Kushina’s chakra hosts Kyubi, but didn’t she get Kyubi’s chakra in return? Kai will get increased returns on his investments in the form of Yonbi’s chakra once he recovers! And boosted favorability by other Tailed Beasts will surely come in handy.

Why do you think Kai can get away by bullying Senju’s orphans? It’s because of his other title—[Senju Legacy Guardian]—which passively boosts his perception amongst the Senju. His pranks essentially come off as fond acts for other Senju members. The same can’t be said for other orphans.

Kai takes a deep breath. His body acclimated to the changes fairly effortlessly due to his great strength. But the boost in his physique feels the best since it stagnated considerably. The changes also affirmed his belief of shifting his approach based on ‘grind.’ The Grind does not end when he stops lifting weights. It was merely a phase.

To pursue grind, he must step into another phase and search for different forms of Chakra to enhance his physique!

He already has Yonbi, Kyubi, and Senjutsu goodness. Now, he has to find more ways. And he has a good idea of what to do next. If only he could find a way to deal with souls just as effortlessly.

‘Wait,’ he blinks, curiously glancing at Mito. “Mito-Sama, what would you do if you wanted to dissect your soul into five halves and create a body for them without losing power.”

“Hmm?” Mito sips her tea, not questioning Kai’s motive but answering the proposed query after a moment’s thought. “I’d give up. The body and soul create two halves of chakra. You can’t reduce one without the other and expect everything to be acceptable. Of course, you would know that by now. If I desperately want to achieve what you just said, I’d start from the result—the Chakra. I’d find a way to divide my soul and body at once by dividing the chakra itself. I did the same with Kyubi. Of course, now it’s come to my attention that it was the wrong move, and I ‘released’ something I shouldn’t.”

Kai stares at Mito before slapping his forehead.

‘Why didn’t I think of that? I could blame Orochimaru since she kept trying to find a solution in an orthodox manner. That’s right.’

“Just like Shadow Clones, huh?” Kai smiles wryly.

“But permanent,” Mito shrugs. “I take back what I said about your growth. Maybe rutting like a wild animal does have negative consequences.”

“How would you know?” Kai grins.

“I may talk bad about my first husband,” Mito narrows her eyes. “But I won’t have you insult his prowess. He just wasn’t too interested.”

“What?” Kai gapes. “I was talking about how would you know that I rut? It’s not like you experienced it firsthand.”

Mito freezes as an awkward silence hangs between the duo until Kai clears his throat, “So, Tsunade’s Grandfather went wild on others?”

“Forget what I said.”

“I can’t.”

Another bout of silence hangs between them. Mito nurses her cup of tea and downs it whole. “There is Sake in the other drawer. Bring it to me and leave.”

“Okay.”

The mood got too weird, and he couldn’t stop thinking about what Hashirama Senju did with his ‘Wood’ Release. Damn, Nono corrupted him to a great extent!

“Kai,” Mito glances at the youth before he leaves. “In my Scroll drawer, you’ll find the Jutsu I used to divide Kyubi. It should help you in your ventures.”

Kai’s gaze brightens, “Thank you!”

She smiles at his exuberant reaction, not knowing his true thoughts.

‘Fuck those elusive Sages,’ Kai cackles. ‘Orochimaru still couldn’t set a meeting with the Sage Snake. Meanwhile, not only did Mito give me a whole different approach but also a solid base to work from!’

“Why the fuck would you share that knowledge? What if he decided to divide Yonbi?”

Mito blinks, “You almost sound protective.”

“I’m not.”

“What I do with my knowledge is upto me. And Kai knows the drawbacks to the method from my mistake, so he will only use it after working a method around it.”

“So, you want me to believe you’re suddenly good of heart?”

“I always was,” Mito pours sake for herself before muttering. “Besides, I would rather share knowledge than let Kai fester on embarrassing bits about me.”

“You’re referring to that red-eyed Bastard whisking your husband’s attention with his threats to destroy the village.”

Mito and Kyubi reach a consensus for once as the former scoffs. “And don’t forget how that bastard loved to keep his hair long for Hashirama’s hands.”

---

Sand’s Devil, they called him. Or rather, not his Jinchuriki, but himself, Ichibi. It’s laughable. Ichibi isn’t his real name. It's an ‘honorable’ tribute to the number of his tails from that wooden bastard. Of course, Ichibi doesn’t hate Hashirama. He’s the only one out of the nine Tailed Beasts not caught by Hashirama.

‘Too many strange things are happening these days. No wonder seeing the husk doesn’t surprise me anymore,’ Ichibi muses. ‘I wonder if they would feel bad at my disappearance. I could stop by. Yonbi would be there, right? No, it’s fine this way. Everything was a lie in the first place.’

His form is that of a giant sand tanuki with marks similar to a ‘fluid’ Fuin running across his body. Ichibi is what one might call an Elemental Beast in some sense. He was perhaps the only Biju to remain confident when Hashirama sealed that stupid fox. How could Hashirama’s wood release touch him when he could phase through attacks and meld with the desert of the Land of Wind? The home-ground advantage was crazy for him.

No, what caught him wasn’t ‘father’s’ creation’s descendants but something more sinister—his hindsight.

“Ask someone else to pour that much chakra.”

A rough snort snaps Ichibi’s attention out of his musing as he looks ‘beyond’ his almost dead Jinchuriki’s meat bag. He quietly watches the Third Raikage arguing with Zetsu. Ichibi could warn them all, alerting them of what’s to come. But he resents them and himself.

It was all a lie.

Maybe it wasn’t. The Jar and Temple his father created for him were intended for his rest since melding with sand made him restless and insomniac—but those two creations were the reason for his capture. And is it any wonder that years of enslavement make him resent everything? Wasn’t the Rikudo the all-knowing? Didn’t he foresee their enslavement?

He created them equally. Be it the red-eyed devils, the punch-drunk freaks, the red-headed cunts, AND the tailed beasts. They were all ‘His.’ So, why did the Uchiha get the eyes to control them, the Senju gained the Husk’s ability to drain and seal them, and the Uzumaki got the skills to do everything in between?

Those three ‘families’ were created to suppress the nine siblings, were they not?

As the years progressed, it became painfully clear that the nine were blessed with powers befitting natural disasters, but others were given the mind for it.

“Don’t worry. It would take a few S-ranked Shinobi to get the deed done. Activating the Gedo Statue is highly taxing for you alone.”

Ichibi watches a white Zetsu, probably the most normal-looking one, speak.

“Remember the Byakugan is had up for auctions?” Another voice mutters with an eerie indifference as Ichibi focuses on the white-eyed devil’s eyes. The Hyuga are the curious case. Ichibi wants to believe his father had something to do with them, but they just appeared one day after their father’s departure.

“What about those Byakugan?” the Third Raikage narrows his eyes. “I still believe it was a waste, but it wasn’t a resource I procured, so talking about their use is pointless when it comes to me.”

“You’re still talking about it,” Mukai shrugs indifferently. “Ura wanted me to sell them for several high-quality slaves to use for this moment.”

“Slaves?” The Raikage arches his brow. “Don’t tell me you handed one of these to Onoki.”

“No,” The black zetsu on Ura’s right half supplants. “The many Samurai under the Noble Clans possess enough Chakra reserve but not the skills to use it. Besides, any Shinobi worth their salt would notice the Byakugan up for sale is no longer usable.”

Standing atop one of the ten fingers of the ‘begging’ statue, Raikage snorts in reply, “We could use a Byakugan or two to exchange for my son. I invested heavily in him.”

Much more lackadaisical, Mukai sits on one of the fingers with crossed legs. “Your son’s heart would soar at your worries.”

“As someone who slayed a legend—Hanzo, I genuinely hope it is sarcasm. Anything else will lower your value in my eyes,” A narrows his eyes.

“He was a legend,” Mukai hums. “All I got to assassinate was a husk.” The brown-eyed youth glances at the mummified statue. “Poetic, huh?”

A glances at the said giant statue. Its torso is like a scrunched robe around the mummified body, whose size surpasses one of the many massive beasts the Raikage had the pleasure of duking out with—Hachibi. Tall protrusions extend from its back, with nine eyes growing through the blindfold. They were like ants in comparison.

“So, this weapon will unify the continent.” The Raikage narrows his eyes. “I would expect no less from a weapon needing to consume giant batteries of chakra like the Tailed Beasts.”

‘Unify the continent?’ Ichibi blinks within his Jinchuriki. ‘That thing wouldn’t unify a colony of insects, much less the damn continent. And what about the rest of the world? The Shikkotsu Continent is larger. The Underground Desert is filled with unique aquatic creatures, too. All this statue did was— hmm, it doesn’t matter, does it?’

He watches as the trio moves and places the bodies of a dozen samurai in Genjutsu around his Jinchuriki before the one controlling them—Mukai—gives them the necessary order to begin the countdown to their collective end.

“Phantom Dragon’s Nine Seals.”

The men in genjutsu raise their hands in a seal before offering their chakra to the statue. Its scroll snaps down from its mouth before blue chakra coalesces from within, releasing nine chakra dragons twirling and coiling in the Jinchuriki’s direction.

“One day, someone will come along and teach you about your heart and the acceptance you can bestow to this unforgiving world.”

Ichibi blinks.

He remembers those distant words—memories of his first Jinchuriki. Why would he remember them now?

The image of a familiar figure enters his mind as the nine dragons cover and raise his Jinchuriki into the air. Ichibi can feel his chakra, reason, and memories slipping.

He’s ‘died’ a few times, but it feels peculiarly terrifying this time.

‘Is this death? Is that how you felt, Bunpuku?’ He recalls his first Jinchuriki—the poor soul trapped with him. Ichibi initially hated the man. But he began appreciating the elderly priest after his passing. Bunpuku was like his father.

‘Heart? Acceptance? Could you be so forgiving after feeling such a terrifying death, Bunpuku? You asked me to remember your name. I did. Now? I feel like I’m forgetting the name my father gave me.’

He closes his eyes.

He wants to meet his siblings one last time. Maliciously so, he also wants to curse his father. Yet, he doesn’t want to enter that space. What is he? A beggar? Is he so starved for their love that he would go into that space and call out to them?

Would they even show up?

He knows he wouldn’t. He is a hateful creature without any acceptance or love for the world.

‘Ah,’ Shukaku feels a pang of envy. ‘Hachibi and Yonbi got good hosts. I don’t think life would be rotten that way. Hmm? Hachibi, Yonbi—what were their actual names? I’m scared. I can’t remember my own name. It was Shu- something. Wait, did someone ask me to remember their name?’

He closes his eyes, feeling a bout of weakness and helplessness.

‘Father, I’m scared. Please, show yourself one last time. I remember being happy around you. Please-’

His senses are the first to drift away with the initial bouts of his chakra, his memories the second, and whatever remains come later.

Ichibi died, unable to recall anything about himself in his final moments, robbed of the last flashes of his life.
