Ja Sun smiles in satisfaction. It’s always pleasant to see mending relationships with the power of coc- ehm—Sagely Enlightenment. Xiao Bai is puckish, like Zi Ji and Erlong, eager to pick fights with anyone who looks at her the wrong way. Her ‘bad blood’ with Lan Ruo stems from the former Whale King’s need to conquer the sea until Poseidon puts a rest to his foolish ambitions. But it’s also due to Whale King’s memories that Ja Sun knew the cause of Lan Ruo’s outburst a few months ago. Even if he empathized with her, he would be foolish to reveal it in any manner. And like usual, to one-up each other, Ja Sun won big time. Who says one doesn’t wet his dic- ehm, intelligence in rivalries?
Reluctant to disturb Xiao Bai and Lan Ruo as they enjoy their well-deserved rest after hours of hard work and questionable fluids drooling down their thighs, Ja Sun steps out of the room, unimaginably happy to have the foresight of giving their home the much-needed privacy ‘mode’ since a pair of beautiful dark-haired and purple-eyed girls waited for him outside. The two girls looked identical as they held each other’s hands.
“Papa!” the one on the right chimes, sporting a cute purple robe, unlike the left girl’s frilled-frock. “Elder Mama is looking for you. She looked angry!” The duo nods at once as Ja Sun grins brightly, kneeling to meet their eyes as she questions. “Is that so? Nu, Su, and did someone ask you to wait for me here?”
His daughters—Ja Nu and Su—glance at each other, the one wearing the robe is merely seconds older than the younger twin since Ja Sun popped them out of Zi Ji with a snap of his fingers. They nod again, with Ja Su stating, “It was Mommy. She said she will be waiting for you tonight!”
“Hmm!” Nu nods, repeating, “And then Elder Mommy Bi dragged Mommy away!”
‘Well, Bi Ji isn’t a mommy,’ Ja Sun blinks. But why work that out of his kids? Bi Ji may just be a mommy later, right? He smiles fondly, pecking the two on their heads as they brighten up and extend their hands, “Papa! Fly!”
“Sure~!” Ja Sun chimes as the two girls float around Ja Sun. They may learn to fly later once their tiny wings and tails under their clothes grow big enough.
“Nu,” Ja Sun smiles. “And which Elder Mommy was looking for me?”
“The one with blue hair!”
“It was white!” Su pouts.
“No, it was blue. Papa, Su is lying!”
“I’m not lying! And I’m Nu!” Su crosses her arms, glaring at Nu.
“No, I’m Nu!”
“You’re always Nu. Let me be Nu today!”
“Nuh-uh!”
“Please!” Su stares at her Sister with wide eyes until tears spill out. “Papa, Nu won’t let me be Nu!”
It’s a wonder Ja Sun needed his level of intelligence before having children, or else he would have been lost in their conversation. He chuckles, letting the two sit on his shoulders. “Su, don’t you like being Su?”
“I do!” She wipes her tears. Unlike his quadruplets, the twin has the measure of calm despite being Half Zi Ji and Half him. Those four would never quiet down so quickly once they start crying.
“Then why don’t you be Su? Papa loves Su.”
“Wait! I want to be Su!” Nu hurriedly claims once she sees Ja Sun kissing Su’s cheek.
“And Papa loves Nu,” Ja Sun grins, pecking Nu’s cheek. “And what do you two say?”
“We love Papa!” They smile, forgetting their early argument as they kiss his cheeks before giggling. “Ah,” Ja Sun continues. “And what’s the other thing Papa taught you?”
The duo glances at each other before their expression turns stony, and they repeat with an uncanny sync, “All men except Papa are lying trash!”
‘Ah. Bliss.’
Ja Sun sniffs proudly.
“Very good. And the Mommy you were talking of, isn’t Little Mommy Yin?”
They shake their heads. “No. Mommy Yin is beautiful, but the Elder Mommy we’re talking about had long hair that touched the floor!”
‘Well. That’s a problem. I don’t remember having any child with her.’
He works his jaw as he walks out of the mansion with his daughters to meet with the individual looking for him.
---
Ja Sun is known for his consistency. He takes care of the children in the morning, trains Violet, Ja Yin, and Lan Ruo in the afternoon, and ‘plans’ his nights to keep others satisfied while keeping his Martial Soul’s influence active to receive feedback for boosted comprehension. With Bi Ji and Zi Ji now acting as his martial soul, Ja Sun’s understanding of the Law of Life, Devour, and Darkness took a turn for the better. But he didn’t visit the Hypertonic Lion Tamer all that much.
He had kids whom he refused to take into the Temporal Artifact and screw with their growth. And keeping true to his beliefs, he chose his children and family over the promise of power and enhanced mastery of Laws. Lan Ruo calls it a foolish decision, but Ja Sun digresses. It’s easy to lose oneself in power. Ja Sun lost himself without knowing, too, when he wanted to avenge Yin for something that didn’t come to a pass.
And Yin never asked for vengeance. She risked her life for his safety. The least he could do is not risk that saved life… unless there was a generous reward.
In the name of the same consistency, Ja Sun continued to screw around with Daoliu. He’s the only one pulling various stunts on his Limit Douluo master. Lana would join him if she wasn’t afraid of Master’s retaliation in the form of her children getting hooked on insect meat. And since Daoliu hooked up with a woman, Ja Sun’s been acting a little weird.
‘Revenge,’ he cackles. ‘I want revenge.’
“You’re sounding evil.” Bi Ji’s voice whispers from within as she adjusts her faux glasses within his mental world while lying on Golden Clouds.
“No,” Ja Sun scoffs. “Evil is sending Nu and Su with that kind of message! Zi Ji, I’m going to have your head!”
“Hmmm? You mean you want me to ‘give’ you a head?” Zi Ji snickers as she relaxes under a tree near his mental core(cauldron).
“I never remembered Dragons being so insatiable,” Yuena derisively scoffs as she lets the socially anxious butterfly spirit soul rest atop her head.
“There must be something wrong with you,” Zi Ji openly defies the Divine Dragon that once had the former shivering at her mere presence. Ah, what a Sage’s support can achieve.
Ja Sun rolls his eyes, attending to the reality around him as he glances at the curious Saixi, who decided to tag along with him after he met her.
“Why are we here?” The woman questions, her long silver-blue hair tied into an elaborate bun to keep it from brushing the ground as she finds a pair of comical black shades covering her eyes, similar to Ja Sun’s.
“Yin and Bibi don’t like it when I prank Master, and other guys don’t have the stones for it. Not to mention, the Spirit Beasts don’t understand the joy of it. But something is itching me since Master decided to ‘please’ the fairer gender.”
‘So, I’m not the only one,’ Saixi muses. She was right to believe Ja Sun felt weird.
“I see. In some ways, Daoliu was like your father. Him accepting another—”
“Did Yuena give you something to smoke?” Ja Sun scoffs. “I saw Lin, Min, Zin, and Jin almost split Ja Yin open! I’m all checked out on the weirdness around me. Those scamps will have tough training days ahead for what they did to my mental health!”
Leave it to the Beast God to hold petty grudges even against his blood.
Saixi grows speechless as Ja Sun solemnly looks at her. “Saixi, I know you want it too.”
Her breath catches in her throat. Yes, they are surrounded by bushes. Ja Sun’s divine intent will keep them safe from any eavesdropper. But the Priestess did not expect the Island’s Lord to breach such a sensitive subject in such a place. It’s been years, and she’s grown more fond of the idea only by seeing Ja Sun’s affection for family. It’s an odd sight. His peers, including Xunji, prioritize other things over their flesh and blood. He brings a hand to her shoulder, squeezing it firmly and smiling encouragingly.
“I saw the look,” he affirms.
‘He did?’ She blinks. What else should she think? He has many women wrapped around his fingers. It would be strange IF he didn’t know about it. But she’s still nervous. How should she respond? She acted like a troubled teen during their initial meeting—for the right reasons, too. But the thought is nonetheless embarrassing.
He nods confidently, deducing using all the Sagely Enlightened brain cells in that mind of his. “Saixi, I called you out here because I know.”
She thins her lips. She wouldn’t know how to react if Ja Sun said those words. She still doesn’t believe she is worthy of such emotions. If anything, she owes him a grand debt despite their initial confrontation. He says it’s water under the bridge because she prayed for him once, allowing him to regain his mental faculties. Saixi believes it’s Ja Sun’s gradually kinder nature talking—not his initial greedy and ambitious persona. She snaps out of her thoughts as she sees his lips move.
“You want to Prank master, too, right?”
Ja Sun grins brightly, his smile exactly like Liang, Baihe, Nu, Su, and other children.
“Huh?” Saixi blinks owlishly, accepting that the Ja Sun she knew—an ambitious, unapologetic, scum-like entity is no longer present. Or maybe the Ja Sun she knew was never the real one. It should have bummed her out. But she would not blow her chances due to a hint gone wrong! Honestly, why can’t the men in her life be ordinary?
She places her hand atop Ja Sun’s hand resting on her shoulder before leaning forward and placing her lips on his.
He rapidly blinks before returning the kiss and pulling back, tilting his head, “I thought you would never be my priestess.”
“Do you see me pray?” Saixi replies with a bland look. “What?”
Ja Sun cups his chin, pondering before sighing. “Man! I wanted to get back at Master for ruining my first kiss with Yin back in the day. I thought we could spook him and the lover by jumping out of their closet or something.”
“That’s childish!” Saixi snaps.
“Duh? Pranks are supposed to be childish. Do you see me commit genocide before giggling—Tehe! It’s just a prank.”
Saixi frowns. His response feels logical, but there’s something wrong with the situation. Her green orbs turn stern as she scowls. “I just kissed you. Why are we still talking about Daoliu?!”
Ja Sun frowns, too.
“I know. Why are we talking about Master?” He grins. “Let’s get back at them later.” He plants a hand on her shoulder again as he pushes her down. Saixi’s eyes widen since she never imagined her first time to be—
Eh?
Her back hits a familiar mattress instead of the ground as Ja Sun wags his brows with a proud smirk. “Sick transition, right? A control of Spatial Laws in a similar manner has many applications—”
She pulls him down by his collar, sealing his lips. Does he ever NOT brag about himself? If it isn’t his skills, then it’s the little things about his children. But she wants something similar. She wants a proud father for any child she may bear.
Ehm, eventually.
