—The Night of Revy’s Introduction—
She’s seen many things before. Her job once found the Black Lagoon crossing paths with literal remnants of a Nazi force trying to revive themselves using an authentic ‘Austrian-Made’ painting; nothing she and Dutch couldn’t handle. And that’s one of the less weird jobs the Lagoon performed!
But watching a dragon act the part of a dog-cat hybrid of mixed affection and disinterest might take the cake for the weirdest experience in Revy’s life and the amount Nik seems to faucet out from down there.
Her surprise doesn’t end there.
The lush grove was house to another strange creature, almost wolven-looking, if you ask Revy, with some resemblance to a boar given how broad its snout looks. It’s slightly smaller than the Dragon - Ignit, Nik called her. His hands stroke the creature’s fur as it, too, bends its body and flicks its thin tongue across Nik’s cheek.
“He’s Nyla.”
And to Nik’s introduction, Revy has only one thing to say, “Is that so? How about what the species is instead of some name?!” Sass is all she has now to keep her sanity. She didn’t know what to expect of Nik, but being a Dragon’s companion wasn’t IT!
“He’s a Shirshu,” he chuckles. “They’re exceedingly rare in their local world and have an almost broken sense of smell to balance their lack of vision.”
Nyla snorts against Nik’s cheek, softly growling.
“Yeah, you should rest after all the playing you did,” Nik smirks as Nyla butts his head against Nik’s before leaving. The strange creature, Nik, looks back at Revy, adding wryly, “There’s one more species of animal I was lucky to invite inside. They’re called Flying Bisons.”
“Let me guess,” Revy crosses her arms. “They fly?”
“They fly.”
The woman rolls her eyes and picks her pace to walk beside Nik instead of following her. “So? Are you ever going to tell me what the hell is happening?”
“Isn’t this the part where you threaten me with another gun to my head?” Nik chuckles as she shakes her head. “What’s the point, Nik?” She looks around. “I cannot force out the truth another way - I don’t know how. And you won’t ever get forced by it.”
She stops, grinning maliciously, “Unless the gun points elsewhere.” Her words attract Nik’s attention as she curls her fingers to mimic a gun before pointing it against her temples. “Like that fucker from the night when we trafficked Lovelace kid. I bet a pussy like you would crumble when someone points one at my head, right?”
Nik stares at her for a few short breaths before he smiles sincerely, “Me? Not yet. But give me a few months. I’d crumble in a heartbeat after a while.”
Revy’s grin freezes, and her shoulders tense in response before she exhales and walks past him, grunting under her breath, “Asshole.”
“Yeah, I have one,” Nik shrugs, following after Revy, “And my Village is that way.”
“You OWN a Village?”
“It’s a joint venture, I suppose. I’m the Land Owner, and my stepson is the Manager,” Nik grins. “My other Stepson has a farm and a Dragon close to hatching. Cool, right?”
Revy stops, glaring back at Nik, “You have kids?”
“Not my own,” he clears his throat. Revy’s gaze intensifies further until Nik leads again.
“Come on. Let me introduce you to the rest before I explain things to you,” Nik muses, “Or I can do the explanations right now as we walk?”
“Walk and talk,” Revy scoffs.
And then comes the third weirdest thing in Revy’s life - Nik’s origins. She isn’t dumb enough to believe he’s spilling every bean. His explanations are vague. Her inquiries into such matters don’t earn Revy a descriptive answer either. There are two reasons for that, which Nik has been honest about since there’s nothing he can do about it.
“I don’t know many things myself since I’m only an ‘Intern’ in one multiversal company, and the things I know but can’t tell is because it’ll get us killed, like erased.”
“And you were stupid enough to become their ‘employ?’”
Nik smiles at her as they watch the dimly-lit village not far from the open pasture they walked out to.
“I just wanted to live,” he chuckles. “You should empathize with how a lifetime of whoring would make me tired of getting money for sex, right, whore.”
Revy momentarily stills before breaking into full-blown laughter, “Yeah!” she grins, wiping a tear off her eye, “I should care about it. But I don’t!”
---
Revy would laugh at Nik’s fiancees just for the sake of it if not for their warm welcome, and if they weren’t so-
Stellar.
‘Damn!’ Revy almost shouts out loud. ‘Some of them could be models!’ She isn’t the one to judge beauty, but things are different when said women happen to be her ‘friend’s’ fiancees, right?
No wonder Nik went for them all. I would, too!
—‘Two Hands’ Revy.
She could go on about how the mothers were smashable despite having kids in their early twenties or even how she would like some time alone with the septuplets if she had a dick and didn’t swing for men. Meeting the Ty Siblings led Revy to realize another deeply resonating quote.
“If you don’t fuck those seven, give me a pass for them!” she exclaims when she enters Nik’s bedroom, taking a moment to appraise the ‘art’ hanging from his walls and a metal glider of sorts on the other side of the room.
“What?” Nik laughs. “You’ll have an easier time bedding June.”
“The dark-lipped merc?” Revy scoffs. “No, seriously! Also, I didn’t expect that when you talked about your stepsons.” She turns to Nik, eyeing him from head to toe before smirking, “I’m thinking of having my harem now.”
Nik slips out of his t-shirt, shrugging, “You’ll have an easier time getting a reaction from me by stealing my food, Revy. Making jokes about banging Sokka, Zuko, or Tom won’t work because I’m already with their mothers. So, I can tattle to them, and Tom’s a child.”
“The weirdest fucking flex I could expect from you,” Revy snorts as she slumps on the bed, groaning, “How do you even do it? Is there like a fuck schedule?”
“Well,” Nik lies on his side beside her, brushing her bangs aside, “I just time my sleep more during the afternoon than at night. I still need to rest after four days.”
Revy stares at him, enjoying his fingers across her hair. “You’re going to spend your entire night on a ‘newbie’ instead of your lovers?”
“Now you know why I haven’t gotten far with Ty Lee and her sisters,” Nik whispers. “I’m too busy fucking you.”
She almost leans into his kiss before stopping and tilting her head away. Nik stops, looking at her quizzically as she shakes her head. “Nah, it’s nothing.” She affirms.
“Well, there’s something,” Nik mutters before grinning. “But I get it. Tell me when you feel it’s okay. I can’t force the truth out of you with a gun to your head, either.”
A complicated look slips past Revy’s usual mask of disinterest before she sighs, flatly muttering, “Nik, this life—”
“A whore doesn’t deserve it,” Nik climbs atop Revy, his violet hues meeting her amber-brown orbs. “But that notion never stopped this whore.” He smirks smugly.
Tension and silence fill their surroundings as Nik hesitates, whispering, “Revy, there’s something else you should know.”
Her breath catches in her throat as he caresses her cheek with the backside of his hand. “I’m-”

“Nik~! We hope you two are decent, you bitches! But we want to see how a pro handles a gun!”
Nik closes his eyes before scoffing a chuckle. “Well, that’s Ty Woo wanting a shooting lesson. Still want to fuck her—”
Revy wraps her arms around his neck, inclining her torso to press her lips against his until their breathing seems to sync.
The woman slowly pulls back, grinning, “I ain’t into threesomes, Boner Nerd.”
“Yeah? Roberta and Eda say otherwise,” Nik rolls his eyes as her hand reaches for his face. She firmly pats him, chuckling, “And Nik,” she stares into his eyes. “Don’t force it, yeah? Just tell me when it feels right.”
He looks away as Revy slips out from under him, allowing him to slump on the bed as she opens the door, finding other girls grinning.
“Shooting lessons, huh?” Revy picks up her pistols from the table drawer next to the door before beckoning others, needing but one excuse to escape from that dangerous room where things almost changed for them completely.
“Nik?” Katara looks at Nik, who’s still staring at the ceiling. “Are you alright?”
“Just regretting the loss of a moment gone wrong,” he lies. “I’ll be out in a minute. Could you close the door, Katara?”
The master waterbender looks at Nik before quietly closing the doors.
“He’s lying,” Toph mutters as she walks beside Katara. “I don’t need my Seismic senses to note he’s been acting a little different since getting that news.” The earthbender grins, “Because I can SEE that! Hah! Get it?!”
Katara groans, “Yeah, Toph. I get it. An eye joke.”
The dark-skinned brunette looks at Nik’s door before leaving with Toph.
“Fuck.”
Meanwhile, Nik whispers as he closes his eyes. ‘Do I deserve that?’ He never questioned if he deserved the luxuries of life.
But he has to question one thing.
Did he deserve the gift of life after everything?
‘They’re back.’
The nightmares.
