Paradise of Infinity: 353

A/N: Kopi Kopi no Mi is a non-canon fruit from the One Piece Premiere 2012. I watched a bit of it on YouTube and found that the wiki failed to mention how the Kopi Kopi no Mi can ‘store’ the ability for the user’s use. So, the devil fruit user only needs to touch the target once. I feel that this storage is unnecessary. There can be a roundabout method to tackle it as an awakened user, but I’ve decided to keep the skill as a one-touch copy, like in laptops and smartphones. The Devil Fruit user can spam the Paste ability but can only copy one thing. Consider Kevin from Ben 10 as a template since he always needs to touch the material he’s absorbing if we ignore the freak accident that turned him into several materials. I’m not trying to nerf the fruit in any manner, but I feel the ability should be copy>temporary storage until dismissed>paste, and not copy>permanent storage>paste.

Title: Reward Time (2)

Nik experiments with the Devil Fruit ability for a while. Even if he knows the Devil Fruit, it’s limited to its unawakened fruit—temporarily copying other Devil Fruit abilities. But what Nik can achieve is beyond that. It’s like comparing Heaven to Earth or Nik to Denny.

First, Nik must touch the target to copy before thinking where he wants to ‘paste.’ He can copy-paste someone’s appearance on himself from what he knows, but he’ll need to try that out. But Ray’s knowledge about the awakened Devil Fruits is limited, or she would have awakened the Bomu Bomu no Mi. Nik instantly noticed that the copy-pasted items were as genuine as they get. So, Nik can resolve his issues with AP collection from this moment. The Devil Fruit’s ability is switched on with a thought so Nik doesn’t randomly copy anything he touches.

The one limitation—to Nik—is he can only Copy-Paste one thing at a time. Once Nik takes another target to copy, he cannot paste the previous target. But what makes Nik wonder is if the copied abilities from other Devil Fruits are also permanent.

The weakness of copying one item at a time doesn’t bother him that much. Heck! He also tried copying the two women inside the sealed pods. Unfortunately, he cannot directly touch them. And Nik is surprisingly unable to paste the sealed pods. He almost fainted from a withdrawal of energy.

This leads Nik to his final conclusion.

Kopi Kopi no Mi should not require so much from the user, and its drawback, according to Ray’s information, is maintaining concentration to use other Devil Fruit user’s skills. However, it seems different for Nik.

The skill takes a lot from Nik when he copy-pastes an item. Nik theorizes it's due to him ‘creating/pasting’ said items in the real world.

Nik sits down, begrudgingly eyeing the pods. They must be made of outstanding materials.

‘I’ll copy it before opening them before finding a way to paste them. Won’t my need for A.P. resolve if I can spam such an item?’ Nik nods and moves to the second Diamond Reward.

[Diamond Mystery Box opened. Please choose one of the following rewards.]

[The Great Rune of Resistance: A Great Rune freed from the Elden Ring, a fraction of the world’s might. It boosts the host’s resistance to harmful effects of Physical and Metaphysical Natures. (Additional Info: Born from Queen Marika’s anguish, all Great Runes are cursed. The holders shall meet Destined Death under the Blade of Bold.) (Special Info: Paradox Skill identified that negates the metaphysical side-effects.)]

[Osmosian Gene Reconstruction: A Gene Reconstruction Kit altering one’s body to adopt an Osmosian’s Physiology. (Additional Info: Absorption of matter and energy unstabilizes the host’s hormonal cycles, leading to deficient reasoning.)]

[Perfect Poke Egg: A precisely bred Shiny Dratini Egg with heightened talent and Mega Evolution. (Additional Info: No keystone is required with sufficient bond and training.)]

Nik exhales after reading the list, confused.

The previous diamond reward displayed Devil Fruits, so Nik imagined the next two Diamond Mystery Boxes would give him options from the same categories. Yet it’s different this time. Fortunately, Nik knows about Pokemon Franchise and its well-known sibling—Digimon. Unfortunately, his knowledge primarily consists of questionable images he’s watched June shovel through as the former Bounty Huntress spends living the grind—Eat, Gym, Fuck, Laptop, Sleep, and Repeat.

Meanwhile, Nik found out about the Osmosians from Ray’s information. Though she knows more about Anime, she’s also aware of the ‘popular’ cartoons. Ben 10 is one of these animated shows.

Finally, the Great Rune of Resistance is a mystery to Nik. But he’s got no love for it the second he read its Additional Info. Nik refuses to keep anything close to him that shall remotely affect his luck—oh, who is he bullshitting? Bad Luck only has so much effect. The prepared ones only find unfortunate circumstances an annoyance, nothing more.

The truth is that Nik is more interested in the Osmosian Gene Reconstruction than the Poke Egg and the Great Rune.

Why?

Although Dratini’s Poke Egg can mega-evolve, transcending Dragonite to form a glorious spectacle that makes its previous weakness—the Fairy Attribute—its strength, Nik is simply taken by the Osmosian Gene Reconstruction Kit at the thought of how it suits his Devil Fruit!

Osmosians can absorb matter, energy, DNA, and other things. As one might expect, such a power has its costs. Yet, Nik intuitively feels that Prana Bindu can deal with the hormonal imbalance or any other instability. Instead, allowing him to absorb energy only assists him in further training Prana Bindu.

‘But…’

Nik hesitates.

‘What if it’s redundant?’ He questions. ‘What if he can already copy the things using the Devil Fruit? Why would he need the Reconstruction Kit…’ His gaze wanders off to the two pods before he smirks in realization. ‘No, I might need it. But let’s not be hasty. I need a Gene Resonance Kit to test it before accepting the reconstruction.’

Nik temporarily avoids accepting the reward. Hopefully, Ray has a Gene Resonance Kit stowed elsewhere.

With that, Nik follows with the final Mystery Box, letting out a grunt of Frustration.

[Diamond Mystery Box opened. Please choose one of the following rewards.]

[Perfect Digi-Egg: A product of ‘Archive’ that can transition between data and physical forms. This precisely bred Poyomon doesn’t follow the standard digivolutions path. (Additional Info: Digivice excluded. The host must purchase additional data expansion sticks to digivolve the Digimon.) (Special Info from the Creator: We proudly announce another venture under Lord Archive’s businesses! These special Digimons can protect all your technologically inclined devices and digivolve into several other forms based on the data sticks purchased. Feel free to browse our stores for more information.)]

[Perfect Digi-Egg: A product of ‘Archive’ that can transition between data and physical forms. This precisely bred Pabumon doesn’t follow the standard digivolutions path. It’s unsatisfying!

Nik feels blue-balled!

Fuck!

Why did his last Diamond Mystery Box have to turn into Archive’s sponsorship drive?!

Curses to Archive. Nik hopes Archive doesn’t eat anything for a day!

Although dissatisfied, Nik calmly observes the reward.

Digimons… are fine. At least Ignit won’t try biting his head off over another companion. Unlike others, Ignit is significantly territorial. She would throw the hissy fit of the Century had he accepted the Dratini Egg. But she won’t mind if Nik can contain the Digital Beasts inside his smartphone.

‘I may even copy-paste them,’ Nik perks up. ‘Everyone can have a Digimon that way.

‘Which one should I take?’ Nik looks through the lists of Digimons and their Digivolutions before feeling… odd.

‘Why do Digimons turn to badass weapon-wielding monsters at later evolutions? Scratch that… why do several of them look… good?

Still, Nik isn’t ashamed to select the Pabumon Egg. Whether he likes it or not, this reward must be on the same pedestal as Perfect Devil Fruits and Osmosian Physiology. Nik only needs to work his way and understand why that is the case.

Visiting the stores under Archive’s Authority would be the first step in achieving that.

Achieving his goals, Nik appears inside the hotel room before taking out the rewards and the two pods.

Nik then transfers the pod into his room, letting Samus look through it later. The same goes for the Translation Bread Maker and the Digi-Egg.

Nik sends Ray a message before entering Duck-Tape’s Scar of Infinity to relocate the loot, calling it a day—

[Smexy-succu-succu: A Gene Resonance Kit? Sorry, but I don’t have any. However, I know a store that possesses several Gene Reconstruction Kits, allowing others to test their resonance with it for a charge without using said Reconstruction Kits. I’ll introduce you to him, so don’t be hasty about using such a thing.]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: Thanks. So? What did you get for the Golden Reward?]

[Smexy-succu-succu: I’ll only spill if you do it first~!]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: That’s fine. I got a Translation Bread Maker. Eating it can allow anyone to converse with another for a day. So?]

[Smexy-succu-succu: Dang! That’s so helpful. Share some loaf with me, will you? I’ll be happy to pay for it. As for my reward… hehe… well, I got something really impressive~! Can you guess what it does?]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: Chemical Castration?]

[Smexy-succu-succu: What? No, fuck you! Hmph! I got a… *Cues Drum Rolls* A Superior Eevee!]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: Why the drum rolls? It’s just a Pokemon.]

[Smexy-succu-succu: Oh, you simpleton! Although it doesn’t state it, these Pokemon CAN accompany us on our adventures! They are half the hosts and don’t need to worry about Pokeballs because they are bred loyal!]

Nik blinks.

So…

That Digimon…

Nik’s gaze brightens.

That IS outstanding!

[Smexy-succu-succu: While I have you here… please get to School on time. Thanks again for looking after Hansel and Gretel.]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: Stop kissing my ass already. Also… do you know about a Kaguya Shinomiya and Ai Hoshino?]

[Smexy-succu-succu: Don’t tell me… y-you lucky bastard! *Coughs blood!*]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: What about Samus Aran?]

[Smexy-succu-succu: Kiss my ass! Tch!]

[Nut-Cracking-Messiah: Well, you’re the one offering it.]

A somber silence stifles the guest hall of Nik’s manor as his family and friends, including Revy’s group, stay in their corners. A few, like Michi and Ursa, try helping the new ‘group’ calm down. The lack of a translator barely makes things hard since Revy can understand Samus, who explains the events.

Everyone is pale and frightened. Nik may not have been affected by ‘Terror,’ but the same cannot be said for the women once the adrenaline wore off. Even the perpetually cocky Hayase shudders while tightening a blanket around herself. Casca’s forehead drips with cold sweat. Samus is no better.

“Well, he isn’t dead,” Revy drawls. “Or we would be, too.”

“That ain’t comforting,” Eda snarls. “Why the hell am I here? Nik should have let me out!”

“I second that,” Benny nervously smokes his cigarette.

Sokka and Zuko converse with each other at another corner.

“What do you think?” Zuko frowns. “Do we stand a chance if we fight?”

“It would be easy for the enemy to let us out and let the world do the rest,” Sokka shrugs. “But I don’t think Nik’s been had.”

“Why? Just because you taught him once?” Zuko rolls his eyes. That’s what Sokka often brags about.

“No?” Sokka tosses Zuko a strange glance. “Think about it. This side of the world is more crucial to Nik. So, the enemy would have tried attacking here. Nik doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy to risk his life for nothing. He’s probably left that area and thinking about how to deal with the enemy.”

“Then why isn’t he here, genius?” Katara interjects with a dissatisfied voice. “It must be someone dangerous, right? How else can you enter this world without Nik’s consent?”

“There are several ways,” informs a calming voice. “You can control my mind, for one.”

Katara looks at Nik, annoyed, “See? Not a simple enemy.” She then turns to the surprised Sokka. “So? What do you have to say for yourself—” Katara stops, whipping her head in the previous direction before jabbing her fingers into Nik’s chest. “You! Do you know how worried we got? Where have you been all this time? How do you explain them?!”

She points at the group of girls as Nik smirks, hugging Katara before she can say another word. Nik pecks her lips, “Hey, I’m glad to be back. The enemy wasn’t all that much, and I dealt with him.”

Katara opens her mouth to say something before feeling several gazes converge. Puckering her lips, she rolls her eyes. “You can’t keep getting away by doing this!”

Katara knows what she means, and Nik, Sokka, and Zuko understand what she means… Everyone, despite the language barrier, knows what she means. Yet, Nik smirks shamelessly. He pecks her lips again. “Maybe I can.” He lets his hands rest on her waist a moment longer before pulling back. Nik waves his hand at Dutch, beaming, “So? What do you guys think?”

Adjusting his glasses, Dutch exhales, “I think I need a cold bath.”

“Easy to arrange,” Nik smirks, addressing everyone. “Sorry for making you guys worry. The opponent was slightly bizarre, that is all. Michi, Ursa, and Jin can you guys help me arrange rooms for them? Their building was destroyed during the fight. I’ll bring the dinner from the outside for everyone. There’s a lot I need to unpack.”

“What are they going to wear?” Azula frowns. “I won’t tolerate letting your random friends take my stuff. This isn’t a charity.”

“I thought Nik was a charity case once he took a shine on you…” Mai’s dry voice stiffens Azula’s expression as Zuko almost chuckles. “Come on,” Ty Lee (7) holds Azula’s hand, smiling. “You can share my clothes, Azula. I have many~!”

“Let’s behave,” Poppy clears her throat before smiling at the ‘immigrants.’

As others leave, Nik asks Dutch, Benny, and Eda to stay behind alongside Revy.

“So?” Nik begins. “What do you think about this world?” He offers them chairs as everyone sits.

“It’s nice, Nik,” Dutch begins before glancing between him and Revy. “But it’s annoying that you’ve poached one of my best.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Revy snorts. She sets her legs on the table, crossing them. “He didn’t poach shit. I hate it here, so I’ll organize stuff my way.” Indeed, Revy hates it here. Everyone is pleasant and kind. Especially those mothers… Revy ‘HATES’ them to the bone.

Dutch offers a smirk before questioning, “Is it a recruitment scheme? Cause I’m going to have to reject it. No offense, Nik. I suppose I owe you my life. But I’m not cut out for this. And if you’re willing to understand my side—I don’t want to work here.”

“Roanapura is almost done,” Revy frowns.

“Not for long,” Dutch shrugs. “If your information is correct, someone or something will replace the High Table. That’s life, Revy. There’s always a son of a bitch to fill a power vacuum. I’ll be busier than ever.”

“I’m going to stick with Dutch,” Benny speaks after Dutch. “Sorry, Nik. I think you’re good and all. But…”

“I understand,” Nik nods. Truthfully, he valued Benny the most because of his technical skills. Who knows when Nik might need Benny’s expertise? However, that was until Nik accepted a Digi-Egg. A Digimon is a Pokemon with additional technological hax. As for Dutch? It didn’t make sense not to try and recruit the man. He’s as able as the rest of them.

“That all?” Revy blinks. She expected Nik to fight for them. However, he shrugs. “Well, no point in forcing them. Do you guys want to get out now?”

“Where would we be appearing in?” Dutch questions.

“My room inside Hotel Moscow, Tokyo Branch,” Nik replies as Dutch and Benny nod. Meanwhile, Eda whistles. “I’d rather not be alone in fry-face’s territory. Does she know I’m a CIA agent?”

Nik blinks.

“You’re a CIA agent?”

Eda’s lips part, “You didn’t know?”

“Why would I know that? I didn’t read your mind.”

Revy snickers. “Great. You’re 2-2 now.”

Eda grunts as Nik sends Dutch and Benny out.

“Listen, Nik. I’m flattered and all, but I’m not into—”

“Honestly,” Nik interjects. “I just wanted you around to have an excuse of dressing others as Nun.” His blunt words make Revy gapes as Nik continues. “Your words about having me in the confession booth remained in my head. So, I figured, why not?”

“What?” Nik questions. “It’s not that strange, right? Eda looks good in her nun habit. I can totally see Revy in it… or… heh, Sofia.”

He smirks, feeling on top of the world.

“Oh!” Nik adds. “I almost forgot another thing. There’s a chance that your superiors knew about your situation but still helped Accu-mulet do what he did. I know the terms ‘Good’ and ‘Bad’ are naive to be held on… but betrayal should still mean something. I’ll let you out tomorrow on our way to the job.”

Eda grows silent as Nik looks at Revy. “So? What do you wanna eat tonight?”

“Steak!”

“Copy that,” Nik remarks with a meaningful smirk. He’s about to ‘create’ a feast with minimal expenses! Oh, how he loves this life!

hehe... this one is a special digimon as the sponsorship describes... why limit to Lilymon... oh, and I'll be following the cybersleuth evolution system since I played hacker's memory for some time

FanHarem

So just thought of this, but can he copy the eevee? If so Ray might be able to get all the Eevee - evolution ? Also Pabumon? is he going for Lillymon? That may end up being quite the prickly endeavor....

It's Ign ... wait where's Ignit?

so you plan on kidnapping Koro-sensei and his class?
