I can understand the critique you guys had about how Batista deserved a better death and how his character deserved more, but him getting killed by Dexter while having him strapped down for one of Dexter rituals was never going to happen because Angel didn't fit the code and Dexter hasn't violated the code this entire season. He was never going to kill Batista or at least not via his ritualistic kills. I think it would've been worse and out-of-character for Dexter to kill him that way. He definitely deserved better than being shot in the back though. On a side not, Peter Dinklage is an amazing actor.
