Quest Maker: 372

Fun, parties, rest, orgies, and even teasing Bing Bing and others, Ja Sun has done it all after his return. But he doesn't intend to shy away from more 'responsible' stuff that others hope from him. After all, he did say he wouldn't shy from banging out a family should others find a way and that's what Ja Yin did.
She found a way. She stepped on the very path Ja Sun hoped for her and Violet— to innovate stuff that even he would hard time coming up with.
After all, thinking that one can achieve everything... is sound in this world. But achieving it, nonetheless, is extremely hard. And Ja Sun, whose drive stems from quests and physical pain needs both of these things to make use of his trait well.
His trait, in a word, works well with the user's initiative. When Ja Sun just arrived in this world, his drive led him to create quest after quest. His strength shot through the roof. But this is also why his quest for strength itself has reached a temporary limit. What lies beyond is Godhood.
The quest already exists and Ja Sun has a nagging suspicion that this quest would be like nothing before.
This sensation comes from his... very soul.
Back then, Ja Sun could not understand concepts such as a soul but after studying soul origins for so long and even developing arrays to devour this energy that directly increases one's cultivation, Ja Sun understands the existence of a soul somewhat.
It's the origin and the storage.
Not in a conceptual manner. Far from it. Soul has a form. Soul has weight. Soul has energy. Soul stores memories and experiences. A Soul is distinct from spirit, mental, and internal energy. Soul, despite being 'lightweight,' is the storage for the essence of laws.
A Law of concept is an understanding of the divine. Mind, at a certain strength, can interpret it. But a mortal existence cannot store divine. Then what can?
If not the fleshy bag of a body, if not the brain matter that shoots electrical signals to control said body and host mental energy then what?
A Soul.
Then is the Soul a divine concept?
The answer is simple.
Yes.
One's soul is as divine as a mortal can hold. One's origin within the said soul is the only hope to wrestle the rights of a Law from heaven.
All this became clear to Ja Sun in his fever trip to the past.
'So, A Soul hosts law, martial soul, and even the mandate of godhood— the God Tablet, if someone becomes a god...'
Ja Sun scoffs a chuckle, 'As I suspected. I could not identify my trait in a particular part of my origin... because it is entirely my trait.'
Different from others, Ja Sun is from another world.
A world of traits.
How does his trait get its fuel to function?
His spirit, internal, and mental energy never got depleted whenever his trait manipulated matter to form his rewards. After all, his rewards are not stolen products but identical copies.
'So that is why it is said that everyone has a trait but they simply fail to harness it,' Ja Sun holds his chin between his thumb and index. He has yet to become a giant three-meter-tall beast yet again so the gesture doesn't come off nearly as intimidating to Ja Yin and Violet who are waiting on the sidelines.
'A trait is activated through a trigger. This trigger can be anything. This wide array of actions leaves many without finding their trait their entire lives. So, how did the theory of everyone having a trait come to be? Many may believe it to be a conspiracy theory... but why is it so hard to assume that a trait capable of understanding every doubt may exist?
If stuff like Reincarnation Technique exists then surely, just my Quest Maker trait barely scratches the surface. Man... this makes me want to go back... Did Teach ever come to this realization?' Ja Sun furrows his brows.
'Anyway, not to get sidelined. The only reason why the theory of everyone having a trait exists is that we may have something in common. A soul. By that logic. Animals must have a trait, too, but I never heard of that news... maybe none of them ever fulfilled their triggers.'
'So, if my soul entirely is my trait, then my trait itself is my origin. My soul origin, to be exact, is fused with this world's soul. But it is not the slightest bit 'stronger' as one may assume. Soul by itself is one pure concept. It balances out things.'
'For instance, there has never been the least bit of incongruity while using my martial souls or my trait. But this also means... my understanding of the soul falls short considerably. How does my soul fuels my trait? How does a soul connect and forms a bloodline to create a family with similar Martial Souls? Or fuse these martial souls to make a stronger one? Or worse... Twin Martial Souls?'
A chilling smile develops over Ja Sun, 'Just devouring martial souls will not cut it. There are already two variants... Violet and Yuehua. Just how is their origin different from mine and the denizens of this world? The ability to consume and refine soul origins to directly increase cultivation comes from The Rakshasa Soul Devouring Technique. I merely refined it.'
'So, beyond Laws... I may as well assume that understanding one's soul will become a goal. Or at the very least, a divine distraction.'
Ja Sun wished he could dive into it right away but that would be a fruitless endeavor. His current priority is Godhood... after finalizing this array and getting Ja Yin off his back.
"What are you thinking about?" Ja Yin frowns and stares at him as he glanced at her oddly.
"Just thinking if I need to pump one or two kids into you to get you to stop pestering me," Ja Sun grins and snaps his fingers, transporting him and the two beasts to his new Spatial Artifact.
Yes, he is still a bit peeved that Qian Xunji took one of his spatial artifacts.
Oh, he doesn't give a fuck about what Xunji may learn from his arrays. It's just that these things are expensive to create! Ja Sun can only afford this because he exploited King's Lair and Bibi Dong plundered almost all the valuables from Heaven Dou Empire and Spirit Hall.
"2?" Ja Yin sneers, "Try a dozen!"
"Can you handle all that shit? Literally?" Ja Sun replies while looking around the grassland. This is his new spatial artifact. This is also where he intends to create a... well, heaven-defying spot of an array.
"Huh?" Ja Yin thinks for a moment and then shrugs, "I'll have you or Violet create a no-shitting zone of sorts. Like an array that cleans shit, stains, and clothes all at once."
Ja Sun stops and looks at Ja Yin once more, making her question again, "What?"
"Nothing... I never thought of creating an all-cleaning station so... that's a good idea, actually. We'll work on it after this array."
"Master," Violet begins softly, "What are we expected to do here... you warned us that defying gods by shifting rules set upon mortals brings disastrous consequences. Wouldn't... a successful pregnancy between a man and a spirit beast be considered such?"
Ja Sun smiles thinly at that.
"Disastrous for the weak, yes. But in essence, rules are dead. They can be twisted and played with. Or avoided entirely. You just need to understand your own strength and lay low until you have such strength in the first place."
"So, you'll strongarm the tribulations that this array may cause?" Ja Yin concludes skeptically. Before Ja Sun, she learned under Di Tian, and that Dragon held very strong emotions and cautions against gods. He is one of the few survivors from the time of War between Gods, Dragons, Beasts, and Outsiders, after all.
"Nah, given my situation, I'll trigger another one of Poseidon's tribulations, or worse, the Gods may use something even I cannot expect. If I was alone, it would be interesting but there is no way I am risking my kid for kicks of it."
"Oh? So you'll sacrifice any one of us just for your kicks?" Ja Yin pouts and Ja Sun glares at her, "You've got some nerve comparing yourself to my kid!"
"I AM You and Yin," Ja Yin claims, "With a massive dump of destiny on top!"
"And I will sacrifice myself gladly. I'm into losing an arm or two for fun!" Ja Sun claims even louder!
Violet smiles seeing the two of them banter. She simply missed these sessions of teaching ever since Ja Sun entered his closed-room cultivation.
Ending their banter on short notice, Ja Sun exhales reluctantly, "Well... I hate to say it but... I'd rather see my wealth dwindle than you guys..."
"Eh?"
Ja Yin's tempered scowl and Violet's sincere smile freeze as they stare off into the void.
Is this it?
Has the sun started to rise from the opposite side?
Are they going to die?
Because Ja Sun is not the kind of man to... ever discount his treasures.
Groaning at their reaction, Ja Sun grumbles, "Fuck you guys..., especially Yin and Lana," and then he squats over the ground before pointing out, "We won't be triggering a tribulation because as I said, this stuff only appears when the natural order is threatened. And Gods set the natural order. So, I will make use of one to shit on others."
"No, wait a moment, before that... what did you say? Say it again!" Ja Yin bounces and appears by Ja Sun's side to tackle him to the ground. Those words triggered something in her and she wants to do more than just grind him down after getting on top!
The fool!
She teleported past Ja Sun in an instant— his doing, as she crashes into the ground with blades of grass filling her mouth.
"Come on!" Ja Yin spits the grass out and grins massively, "Just say it~ One more time~"
"Do you want to have my stupid kid or not?" Ja Sun scowls.
"Yes~!"
"Then drop it!"
Ja Yin smirks mischievously. She had mostly only heard of his... 'cuter' side but seeing it is a different matter entirely.
"M- Master..." Violet gasps as both 'Ja' look back to find the lamia cupping her steaming red cheeks as smoke escapes through her ears, "I- I need a time out! Please send me back to my room... I... I promise I'll be quick!"
Her beet-red face and gradually increasing obvious scent make Ja Yin grin but Ja Sun stares at Violet blandly.
"No."
"Please," Violet whispers softly with her watery eyes now widening ever so slightly. Man, he could practically see her gaze heat up ever so slightly.
"I am not fucking around," Ja Sun points out, "And I'll make sure you get punished for making fun of your master. So, no. You'll stay, bear with whatever perverted thoughts you're oozing, and remain professional."
"Ummm," If Violet had legs, she'd be clamping her thighs right about now as she bites her bottom lip and nods seriously. But Ja Yin rolls her eyes, "Are you qualified for even giving out punishment for this stuff? You make fun of your master, don't you? Playing around with his body and stuff like that?"
"That is a bonding experience," Ja Sun retorts calmly.
"You heard him, Violet," Ja Yin licks her tongue across her lips, "You need to bond with your master, too."
Violet averts her gaze and flushes harder.
'Violet, I, your master, cannot see you hurt!'
'Violet, my dear, your eyes... they outshine any jewelry in my treasures!'
'Baby, wrap your long tongue around mine like you wrap your tail around my legs!'
Violet's imagination gets the best of her. Sweet nothings, hot whispers, determined confessions... for a few seconds, she is in a daze. Her heat and scent spread off the chart while Ja Sun drops the hardass act and watched her in amusement alongside Ja Yin.
"Do you think she's imagining the two of you doing it?" Ja Yin smirks.
"Scratch that. I'm imagining it myself," Ja Sun shrugs, making his wilder counterpart snicker.
"About what you said?" Ja Yin shifts the conversation finally. This array is useful to her and other beasts so she wouldn't want to waste more time, too.
"What did you mean by using a god?"
"How would one use a God? There are three major paths— mental, emotional, and physical. We dive into the last portion. I may use up all my stock of Qian Xunji steak, blood wine, and sissy bones but using a God's body to form an array would greatly relieve the burden on our shoulders."
Ja Yin grows silent for a moment. Jokes aside... she really feels touched at the moment.
Nobody loves his treasure as much as Ja Sun does himself. So, for him to use his highest quality of stock...
"I'm sorry you have to use... so many resources for my plan..." Ja Yin whispers and lowers her head, "I'll pay you back—"
"That's fine," Ja Sun cuts her off and nudges her shoulder, "If I wanted a payment, I would have made it clear long ago... make fun of me all you want but... treasures can be more than just materials."
Ja Yin grows silent and nods. She still isn't fast enough to surprise Ja Sun by charging at him but this time he lets himself get tackled down as she hugs him tightly. The notion of stripping him down and riding him for days... again, is no longer in Ja Yin's mind.
She thinks of lewder stuff instead.
She silently holds his hand with her velvety-furred one.
The silence would be romantic... if not for Violet stifling her moans as her intrusive imagination continues to get the better of her and makes her tail coil around.
