When I reached out to Patreon to help me fix the problem we recently had (being suspended) I asked them if they could grant me this option because of the fake pledges in recent months. People were stealing what you were supporting.
To give a quick rundown, this is how it's going to work. Anytime someone makes a pledge, it's charged upfront. Without question. However, let's say you are currently supporting R.A.T with a $5 pledge, but wish to change it to $10. In doing so, you will be charged the difference, $5, when you make the change. Then at the beginning of the next month, you'll be charged the updated Tier $10 monthly.
Word of advice, if you wish to ever change your tier's pledge, I would recommend doing so anywhere between the days of the 10th to the 20th. This way you won't be charged twice too soon. (the differences and full amount)
