Here are some screenshots of how the model is created. Most of them are outdated. Worst image for a preview, I know.
#1: This is how the first texture looks. Awful I know, but this one was created to test UV mapping and fur system. Totally not the Hoodwink.
#2: Here I added fur to the tail. I've used a little amount of "control hairs" and because of this it cannot be fully "customizable". Like you cannot stroke a hand on it without moving half of the hairs on the tail. Later I'll add more "control hairs".
#3: The first test poster. The lighting is way too dark and Hoodwink doesn't have fur enabled. Any changes I made in a model automatically transfer to this scene and I can quickly check how it looks in the actual scene.
#4: Fluffy Hoodwink! Just added the hair and didn't edit it.
#5: The second test poster. Now it's daytime but the lighting is broken. Here I checked how her holes work. For now, the main hole works perfectly. but the hole under the tail needs adjustments. Fur was added to her, and it looks not bad, not good. Also, I found that model has near-perfect proportions.
#6: The second texture attempt. Way better, I finally got the right colors and most importantly, I found the way Valve made the fur on her texture. It's unfinished because when I was adding texture to her mouth, I found that I made a critical mistake in the UV map. Fur was enabled.
#7: The second poster but with a new texture. Sadly, the fur was broken and now needs full rework.
#8: Her rig with all bones except DEF, ORG, MCH bones. Looks really complicated, but in reality... yes, it's complicated. For now, it's a lot harder to use this rig than other rigs on other models. Funnily and sadly, it will require a guide to use it.
As you can see, I work on new model quite often and make more or less good results. At least it's getting better with each iteration I make. UV map, texture, rig, everything is created from scratch multiple times to make sure it looks better than before. Right now, I'm working on her texture. then I'll add more bones to her face. Right now it's difficult to pose her face. New bones will make the job easier.
I was thinking about making her public, but the model is too complicated to use for a usual animator. Obviously, when it will be almost finished, I will public a beta test model which will be available on my Patreon for 1 month. After this, I think I will have enough feedback to fix most issues and I will upload it on SmutBase.
