A wild MA1 WIP post appears!
On a serious note, MA1 is getting close to the release.
The ending is ~60% done. The first half of this part is done and polished, while the second half (with egg) is animated on a basic level. I discarded the idea with gel seeds as I fear it won't look great in the end. Also, I got rid of the camera tilt that was present on the whole part with loops. After I finish animating the ending, I'll do a final polish pass on the whole animation to fix the most eye-catching issues.
After the animating phase comes the VFX phase. This one may take a ton of time and space on my disk. I'll try adding body physics to this animation. I want to see if it's worth it. At the same time, we'll see in action how Houdini handles fluid sims.
For the improvements, it seems like postponing this project has a positive effect.
MA1 is now compatible with Unreal, and most likely, I'll render this project in it. It will improve its quality by a lot compared to the current quality in Blender. What you see in the third GIF is a quick import to test if it works at all. That's why it doesn't have textures and other details. Now I need to find a way to make it look as close as possible to Dota 2 cinematics. I'm still missing something to make a true Dota-feel style.
The environment will get reworked. By the time this animation was waiting to be opened once again, I had made major improvements in the environment quality, and it would be a mistake to not use new models in this project, especially when it can be rendered in Unreal.
That's all. The next MA1 WIP will appear just as randomly as this one. Or not?
