It seems that the Environment-Lighting-Rendering part has become significantly larger to fit into one WIP post, especially for such a "big" project. Therefore, making just one WIP for the final steps, as I always do, leads to large gaps of silence between each post.
So, this means that this and a few new posts won't be the last ones. :(
I don't know when this project will be finished, as I slightly misjudged how long it would take to create the environment, lighting setup, and port everything to Unreal. The good news is that MA1 is the only project I currently work on, so nothing slows down progress.
The first two shots (camera view-angles) are done, and most likely will go to the final render unchanged. However, for the next two shots... The 3rd shot most likely won't change much, as I can't find a way to "fix" it. The 4th shot is just unfinished.
There is a significant issue with volumetric fog in Unreal. In 2nd shot, you can clearly see what I'm talking about. Currently, I’m unsure how to resolve it, but letting it stay this way isn’t a good option. Also, there are plenty of shadow artifacts, but at least I know how to fix them.
*EDIT: I found a solution for volumetric fog.
Next WIP will be about the main loop and VFX for it.
Here is the render of 1-4 shots combined - https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/f1qg8aeohqs9a51sodmnn/MA1_WIP_Shot1-4_Lossy.mp4?rlkey=rtshsdmi37yjzudpb3zuusjtl&st=s9rxxh60&dl=0
