"The Creative Process" Blog #2

I'm constantly trading in mics for new ones, buying different pieces for my studio, and I've even dabbled in the art of Foley. (If you don't know what that is, go youtube it. It's super cool.)
I've been infatuated with "sound" from an early, early age. My ears have become fine-tuned over the years to the uniqueness of tone that every mic brings... even the distance one speaks/sings from the mic. ASMR really is for those who enjoy sound, and ASMRtists are great at harnessing the human fascination/satisfaction with it.
That's honestly why a lot of my voice recordings vary in sound... I'm constantly switching mics, mic settings, mic distance. A close proximity to the mic brings a deeper, more buttery sound, while back off brings a brighter, more crisp sound. I tend to favor the closer proximity, as subscribers comment more on those audios about my voice having a satisfying ASMR effect.
I didn't even know "ASMR" was a thing, let alone a Youtube category until early last year. My girl showed it to me while we were laying in bed one night. She was like, "look at these weirdos!!" I watched and thought to myself, "I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE!!!" I created a channel a month later. And well, the rest is history!!
