[3rd POV]
After driving for a little while, Val had made it to Bonnie’s home.
Walking to the front door, she began to knock on it, as she heard soft shuffling coming from inside, as Bonnie was no doubt cleaning the house up a bit. After a few moments of waiting, Val watched with amusement as the door opened to reveal an embarrassed looking Bonnie, knowing that Val had heard what she was doing inside.
“Sorry, I was uh, finishing up some homework” Bonnie said, lying to Valkyrie’s face as the taller woman snorted.
“Whatever you say, love. Now, may I come in so we can begin our tutoring? We’ve got a lot to work on, afterall” Valkyrie said with an amused smirk on her face, as the little Bennett nodded.
“Come in, I brought out the grimoires that I’m struggling with at the moment, the spells inside have been causing some…problems for me” Bonnie said as Valkyrie walked into the comfy little house.
Walking over to the couch, she sat down, and lifted one of the books with a hum. “Elemental magic huh. Let’s see…looks like you’re trying to learn how to make localized weather phenomena, that’s some pretty advanced stuff there, little witch” Valkyrie said, reading through the book at a rapid speed thanks to her super speed, flipping through pages in seconds.
“Yeah but actually manipulating the weather has been…impossible so far. I was hoping to learn how to make it nice and sunny or rainy, but so far the best I’ve done is lessen the strength of the rain” Bonnie replied with a disappointed sigh, as she wasn’t able to get far.
“Hmm, and what exactly have you been doing when trying to cast the spell?”
“Well, I just focus and chant it? Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do?” Bonnie asked, as Valkyrie looked at her, blinking several times.
“Love…no, that is not how you do it. I-is that what you’ve been doing this entire time?” Valkyrie asked as she looked at the now embarrassed Bennett.
“I-yeah? I just sorta go with it and it works out usually” Bonnie replied with a nod.
“Okay, well, that is a part of how you do it, yes. Focus and chanting is a big part, but it’s more than that, love. You have to feel the magic you are using, and more than that, you cannot force the spell to happen, you have to “Coax” it or “Guide” it to happen. Forcing the magic to bend to your will, is a good way of backlash, or something even worse” Valkyrie replied, knowing that forcing magic to do something was a bad way of using a spell.
“Now, why don’t you try to guide it, while I read through these grimoires here? And when you do guide it, make sure to clearly imagine the effect you want, be it rain or sun” Valkyrie added, as Bonnie nodded, and moved to sit across from Val, as she began to softly chant underneath her breath, while Val grabbed another book and began to read.
Reading through the grimoires on the table, Valkyrie sipped on her coffee that she had made (with Bonnie’s permission) as Bonnie quietly muttered the spell, essentially meditating as she tried to complete. But thanks to the power of the spell, it would take her a while before she could do it, giving Valkyrie more than enough time to read a few of the books.
‘Hmm, it seems that she got quite the collection from that one guy that Elijah had hired a while ago. I never paid attention to his name in my past life, so I don’t even know it. But the grimoires here are almost all beyond Bonnie’s skill level. And if what I’m thinking is right, it looks like Bonnie had never learned the spells within most of these, being forced to focus on specific spells in order to keep her friends safe, without being able to grow to her true potential’ Val thought with a sigh, understanding that Bonnie had far more potential than what was shown in the show, but thanks to various situations (like using Expression) she came out weaker than what she could have become.
‘Looks like I’ll need to guide her to become her best self then’ Valkyrie thought with a small smile, as she felt the slight change in the weather above, changing from a somewhat sunny atmosphere, to a now softly raining one.
“Good job, little Witch, it seems you’ve surpassed my expectations” Valkyrie spoke out loud, only to blur as the girl began to stumble slightly.
“Whoa, whoa, steady Bonnie, you’ve just used a lot of magic to accomplish that spell, and it’s drained you” Valkyrie said as she held the much shorter 5’2 girl.
“How about we go down to the grill and get some food in you? And you’re welcome to ask all those questions I’m sure you’ve had in that little head of yours” Valkyrie offered with a small smile.
Hearing this, Bonnie nodded with a small blush, realizing that this was sorta like a date “Y-Yeah, I’d love to. Is it okay if I go and get into something more comfortable?”
“Sure, I’ll be waiting” Valkyrie said as Bonnie smiled and ran off, as Valkyrie watched with a small grin.
“Utterly adorable” Valkyrie softly muttered, before leaning back in the couch and continuing to read, while waiting for the witch to return.

Sitting across from Bonnie, Valkyrie sipped on her drink as Bonnie drank her milkshake, before she began to speak.
“So um, you said I can ask you questions that I’ve been having, right?” Bonnie asked, as Valkyrie nodded.
“As long as it’s a reasonable question that isn’t too personal, I’m okay with answering them” Valkyrie replied, as Bonnie beamed before beginning.
“First, how old are you exactly?”
“Hmm, in terms of when I was put unconscious by my mother Ayana? I was 20. In terms of actual age? Around 1009 to 1010 years old or so. Age gets hard to keep track of after 500 years” Val replied, as Bonnie nodded slowly, before continuing.
“How come you don’t use the sword anymore?”
“I haven’t stopped using the sword, nor will I ever, but I’ve just not had the opportunity to wield my true weapon yet. I only ever bring it out when a foe that is worthy of my blade appears, and I have yet to see one. Had Mikael been alive, he would have been the one I’d pull the blade on, but without him, I doubt I’ll find another for a long time” Valkyrie responded.
“Is any of your siblings as good as you?”
“Nik was the closest of my siblings, and is probably even better than he used to be. He was the only other person in the family that was able to beat Mikael in sword combat” Valkyrie replied with a small smile, remembering the first time she beat her little brother in the art of the blade.
“That…I didn’t realize Klaus was able to use the sword too” Bonnie said in surprise.
“Love, we’re over 1000 years old, I doubt any of my siblings don’t know how to use at least a few weapons. They’ve likely learned dozens of martial arts and weapons, just so they can defend themselves easier against fellow vampires, werewolves, and witches” Valkyrie replied with an amused smile. In canon they likely didn’t, but in this world, she knew for a fact that they did. She made sure they understood that training and learning was incredibly important if they wanted to be able to defend themselves, and those they cared for.
Even Rebekah seemed to be trained from what Valkyrie could tell, and she was an expert at reading the expressions and movements of others, thanks to Deathstroke.
“Wow I didn’t even think about that. So…Damon and Stefan are really lucky they didn’t get into any genuine fights with your family, aren’t they?” Bonnie replied, realizing just how lucky they had all gotten.
“Oh certainly. Had my little brother not needed the blood of Elena, he would have slaughtered all of you with ease. Your friends won’t need to worry about us though, as long as they don’t do anything stupid, we won’t do anything to them. Especially now with the deal that Nik will be making with Elena” Valkyrie responded.
“Deal? What deal?”
“In return for supplying my brother with a certain amount of blood every month, the Mikaelson family will protect Elena and those she wishes protected. She’ll also likely be financially compensated with quite a lot of money, so she can live comfortably for the rest of her life. This way, everyone gets what they want without any of the arguing and fights that were happening before” Valkyrie explained.
“That…actually sounds reasonable, if anything, it’s really generous” Bonnie replied with a small look of shock, as it was incredibly generous, especially by someone like Klaus’s standards.
“Well, Klaus wants his hybrids, and I think it’d be best if we do it in a proper and non-forceful manner. Now, any more questions?” Valkyrie asked, as an arrogant voice spoke up, causing Bonnie to groan and Valkyrie to sigh.
“Yeah, like when are you going to get out of dodge?”
Turning slightly, Valkyrie sighed again as she gazed upon who stood there.
Standing there was Damon Salvatore, a small smug grin on his face as Valkyrie inwardly groaned, one thought on her mind as he walked closer.
‘...This is going to be annoying’
