Chapter 173 [Vault]

[3rd POV]

“Doctor, are you sure this is a good idea?” Yaz whispered as they snuck through the palace of the Emperor. The guards were massive and hulking creatures, a lot of them being Cabal on the outside, the biggest and strongest of them. There were also Viltrumites, Inquisitors, and more guarding the palace of the “Emperor”. 

“Mmhm, no one will notice us until we’re already in there! I need to see who this leader of theirs is” The Doctor replied, as they snuck through the halls, only to duck behind a corner as two massive beings began to stomp through the halls. 

“How has the subjugation of the worms gone?” A deep booming voice asked, as the other laughed. 

“The worms were crushed beneath our boots. Little things stood no chance against the Empire’s might” The voice of Calus replied, as he replied to Ghaul. The two of them walked through the halls, towards the throne room for the first meeting since the invasions began. 

“Looks like we know where to go now” The Doctor whispered to the others, as they all looked at one another, wondering if this was really a good idea, only to groan as The Doctor began to discreetly follow after the two massive beings, towards the throne room. 

Following after them, they soon found themselves watching as the two walked through a massive door, as it slowly shut behind them. Before it could though, the group of four slipped in through, as the two beings walked to the sides of the Throne room, around the large circle that surrounded the massive middle area in which the glowing throne sat. 

Whoooolper Whooooolper 

The Doctors eyes widened as she glanced to the side, paling slightly at the sight of…Darth Vader himself. 

Before any of the “Fam” could speak, she reached her hand up and put a single finger to her lips, as she noticed another figure standing besides him…Palpatine. 

“Are they here yet?” Palpatine’s voice echoed, as Ghaul grunted. 

“They’re speaking with Thragg on the repopulation efforts of the Viltrumites” Ghaul replied, having received news from one of the “Emperors” personal guards. 

“Last I heard, the Viltrumite’s have more than doubled their size thanks to recent efforts” A voice echoed, this belonging to Nick Fury, leader of SHIELD. 

“They have. My fellow Daxamites have been most…helpful in that regards” The ruler of the Daxamites, and their leader, Rhea said. 

“Good, the Viltrumites are one of the best forces our leader has, after all” Palpatine said with his grin, as more and more members of the “Inner Circle” began to appear. 

From the leader of HYDRA, Alexander Pierce, to the leader of the Forerunners Ur-Didact. All of them waiting for their ruler to appear, and finally, after 20 minutes of waiting in hiding, the Doctor heard the door begin to open, as a voice boomed throughout the room. 

“All kneel!” At these words, they all dropped to a knee, lowering their heads in reverence as the voice continued. 

The voices of all the leaders echoed through the room, one singular word escaping their lips “Hail, Hail, Hail, Hail” They chanted, as the voice continued, The Doctor breathing in as she realized this may have been a mistake. 

“Hail the Lightborn!” 

“Hail the Protector of the Empire!”

”Hail the Judge, the Jury, the Executioner!”

”Hail our beloved leader!”

As the chanting began to increase, The Doctor watched a tall figure walk through the doors, walking towards the throne. The figure had a simple suit on, and had a muscular figure, but the closer the Doctor looked, the more she realized that she had assumed wrong, for they were not an Emperor but…

“HAIL EMPRESS VICTORIA!” 

Staring at her as she sat upon the crimson throne, The Doctor felt the looks of the “fam” as they too realized that they had all assumed wrongly. 

Before they could think of speaking, Victoria began to speak. 

“How have the defensive efforts been going? I do hope we’ve prepared enough for this…invasion” Victoria spoke, her voice causing the Doctor to shiver slightly, as it was…powerful, deep, and yet feminine. 

“Good, your grace. More than good in fact. As of right now, we have not had a single casualty on our end, besides the occasional droid flown ship” The voice of Leia Organa said, as she was in charge of keeping track of the casualties in the battles. 

“Excellent. And what of the invaders? Have we taken their technology as I had ordered?” Victoria asked as Leia nodded where she stood. 

“Yes, your grace. We have gathered all salvageable technology from them that we have come across so far. Some of which are entire ships, thanks to the aid of the Viltrumites” Leia said, giving a nod to a tall man, this man being Thragg, leader of the Viltrumites. 

“Their defenses were…under par” Thragg said simply, as Victoria chuckled at what the man said, before looking over her people. 

“Good, I’m proud of the growth you’ve all achieved so far” Victoria said, as they all glanced to the side…embarrassed? At the compliment they were receiving from their Empress. 

“Now…how about the four intruders come out” Victoria said, looking to where the Doctor and her “Fam” were hiding, their eyes shooting wide as three Viltrumite guards appeared near them as they looked around. 

“You heard the Empress” The tallest of the group said, looking at the four of them as they all looked to the Doctor, as she sighed and walked out from the hiding spot. 

“Ah right, well, would you believe me if I said we found our way here on accident?” The Doctor asked Victoria, who raised an eyebrow upon seeing her, the other subjects of Victoria glaring at the woman. 

“You imputen-“ “Silence Ghaul, let her speak. After all, it’d be rude to speak to the Doctor themself in such a way” Victoria said with amusement as the Doctor blinked, as did her companions. 

“You know the Doctor?” Yaz asked, as the subjects were about to glare at her for speaking, but one look from Victoria made them silent. 

“I know all of you. Yasmin Khan, Ryan Sinclair, Graham O’Brien, and of course, the greatest hero this universe has ever known, The Doctor” Victoria said with a small smile, amusement in her eyes at the looks they were giving her. 

“How do you-“ Before Ryan could continue, a screen formed in the air above them, showing the Tardis appearing in the alleyway, their talks with the woman, them sneaking through the palace, every movement they had made since they had come to the planet. 

“My entire city is under my watchful eye, Doctor. Did you really think I wouldn’t notice you and your companions?” Victoria asked with a raised eyebrow, as the woman glanced around. 

“And what of them? Darth Vader? Palpatine? How can they be here?” The Doctor asked, as Victoria’s eyes widened ever so slightly, before looking at the Doctor. 

“…Should have known you would remember. Alright, all of you, out” Victoria said to her subjects, and gave them a single look that promised pain if they tried to argue. Huffing, they slowly filed out of the room one by one, soon leaving Victoria with the Doctor with the fam. 

“Come, let’s go somewhere less dark and dreary” Victoria said as she walked away from her throne, and passed the group as they all looked at one another, slowly following after her. 

“Can we get an explanation, Doctor?” 

“Those were Star Wars characters Yaz, characters from a fictional work!” The Doctor said, as they all looked at one another in confusion. 

“What the hell is “Star Wars” and why should we know what that is?” Ryan asked as The Doctor blinked, looking to Victoria who just continued to walk, understanding what was happening now. 

Soon they found themselves in an outside area of the palace, sitting around a table, as tea was now in front of them, delicious tea at that. 

“So, you remember Star Wars, huh?” Victoria said, looking the Doctor in the eye. 

“Yes? Should I not?”

”Hmm, no, considering the movie no longer exists in this reality” 

“But-what? How can it no longer exist? Better yet, how do they exist here?!” The Doctor exclaimed, a rare look of complete and utter confusion on her face. 

“One word doctor, one word” Victoria said, before smirking and saying the one word. 

“Multiverse” 

Upon hearing this word, the Doctor's eyes shot wide as she began to understand. 

“You-you’re telling me you brought them from another universe? Or perhaps even another Multiverse?! To even do such a thing-it’s completely impossible!” The Doctor exclaimed, shock clear on her face. 

“Maybe for others, but not for me. Now, why is the Doctor and her companions on my planet?” Victoria asked, deciding to change the subject, something the Doctor had noticed, meaning that Victoria wasn’t going to explain more than what she already had, causing The Doctor to huff before replying. 

“The barrier around this Galaxy was impossible, as is this galaxy as a whole. So, I thought it’d be interesting for the fam to go on a little adventure through it, after all, it’s not everyday you see something like this” The Doctor said. 

“Hmm, suppose that makes sense” Victoria replied, not too surprised. 

“Why is this place called Earth? I mean, it’s a lot different than the Earth that we know” Yaz asked. 

“Because this place is Earth, Yasmin. At least, a form of it” Victoria replied with a smile, as she continued. 

“You’re currently in Norway, this place being the center location of the planet, and the capital of the Empire. Just as we have other countries like the United States, Canada, China, and all the others, albeit warped, changed, better” Victoria said, as they all went silent. 

“And um, what is the goal of your Empire? Cause in most movies I watch, the Empires are the bad guys” Graham asked.

”To protect its people and its territories. Perhaps in the future it will expand more, but that is my sole goal for now. This universe is massive, Graham, and it is incredibly dangerous. Beings like the Cybermen, the Sontaran’s, and all the others are just a drop in the well, and it is my duty to be ready for them, all of them” Victoria replied, the man nodding slowly in understanding. 

“And what about the invaders? About their territories? What will you do to them?” The Doctor asked. 

“Well…if they continue their invasions? Then their armies will be destroyed and their territories subsumed into the Empire. The innocents will be protected and untouched, but those that fight against us…well, they will not be spared” Victoria replied simply, as it was the best way of going about it, as otherwise, it would cause more issues in the end. 

The Doctor let out a sigh at this. 

“But-but what if the people fighting back are just innocent people that don’t want to be conquered? What if they’re just trying to protect their family from people like you?” Yaz asked, as the Doctor was about to cut her off, only for Victoria to raise an eyebrow. 

“Do you know how many people live in my Empire, Yasmin?” Yaz shook her head at this. 

“Over 100 quadrillion. Should you include the droids and robots, it is over 2.6 quintillion” Victoria answered, as their eyes shot wide at the number, even the Doctor looking at her in shock, as that was…far more than most Empires in the universe. 

“I have over 100 quadrillion innocent civilians of my Empire to look after. These other Empires and Kingdoms are invading my territory to take it over, what do you think they’d do to my people? What I am doing is kind in comparison to what they’d to us, and myself” Victoria replied, as Yaz went silent, fighting back a reply knowing that it wouldn’t do anything. 

Sighing at the atmosphere that has been created, Victoria glanced off into the distance, before smiling as an idea came to mind. Looking back to the group, she got to her feet and spoke. 

“How about I give you a tour of my Empire, and then you decide your opinion on me?” Hearing this, the group looked at one another before getting to their feet, as Victoria smiled, inwardly one thought on her mind as they began to walk off. 

‘…Let’s hope this goes well’
