[3rd POV]
’This was a great mistake’ Leandra had thought, as she stood in a small floral area, the Godswood, as lords and ladies of the court were talking with one another, mostly about her and what her arrival could mean. As well as the implications of a woman being the Lord Paramount of the West. While the Eyrie was indeed ruled over by a woman, Lady Jeyne Arryn. But it was still a shock, especially with the Westerlands being the third most powerful Great House, behind only that of the Hightowers and Valeryon’s.
And now Leandra was having to deal with the side effects of that, aka a whole lot of gossiping regarding her, especially with her having a member and all.
But it was the King himself that was bringing her the annoyance of the day.
”I must admit, I’ve been curious as to where you went after leaving Westeros” Viserys said as she sipped on her wine, it was a brand that her people had made, and was one that she hadn’t drank in a while, with her own personal wine being much better.
“Ah, I started out in Braavos. It was a…interesting land. They were far more open than I was expecting. Learning about the cultures of Essos was certainly an eye opening experience, with the Dothraki Khalasars, the Warlocks of Qohor, and so many other interesting places I just had to visit” Leandra responded with a small smile, as the man chuckled.
“Yes yes, Essos is much more interesting than Westeros as of late, I am afraid. Beyond our dragons, we’re quite…dreary” Viserys said with a small laugh. He found the stories of Essos a lot more interesting than Westeros, especially in regards to Old Valyria.
“Did you go anywhere else, my lord?” Alicent Hightower asked at the side, as Leandra turned to her and smiled.
”Yes, your grace. I actually went to a very important place that I barely escaped from with my life. But it had also allowed me to find something that has been long since lost from my family” Leandra said.
“If you’d allow me” Leandra asked, as Viserys looked a little surprised before nodding, as Leandra reached down and slowly pulled her blade from it’s sheathe, gasps rippling through the area as she gripped the Valyrian steel sword in her hand.
“Brightroar has returned to House Lannister centuries of being lost” Leandra stated, proud of her success in finding it. The blade glimmered under the sunlight, and Viserys looked over it in slight awe.
However, it was Rhaenyra who was mingling only to hear the gasps, that had asked the important question.
“But I thought it had been lost when King Tommen the Second of the Rock sailed for Valyria?” Rhaenyra asked, as Leandra turned to her and nodded.
“It had been” Leandra said simply, as realization dawned on Viserys.
”You-You have been there? To Valyria” Viserys asked, looking intently at Leandra, who reached into her pocket and pulled out a beautiful necklace, a Targaryen symbol upon it.
“I wasn’t able to explore much, for there were some…less than kind creatures there, creatures that would have eaten me alive, or worse. But I had been able to come across this during the little time I had. I suspect it was worn by the old Ladies of your House, but had been abandoned when your family fled” Leandra said, as she looked to Rhaenyra.
“Would you like it, Princess?” Leandra asked, as Rhaenyra looked down at the necklace made of pure Valyrian steel, and seemed to…almost call to her, before looking to Viserys, as he nodded with a small smile on his face.
“Put it on for me, please” Rhaenyra said, as Leandra didn’t show it outwardly, but she was a little surprised by the request, before walking over and placing it on Rhaenyra, inwardly wondering if it had any sort of magical properties.
‘I suspect it does, if the way the Targaryens were looking at it are any indicator. Perhaps some sort of minor traits? Little is known of the magic that they had utilized, so who knows what it could be’ Leandra thought, as she wrapped the necklace onto Rhaenyra, who shivered slightly at the fingers that touched alongst her neck.
She could feel the callouses on them, rough from years upon years of training with a blade. She could feel the hot breath of the tall woman behind her as she fought down the urge to blush, only to thank the Gods as Leandra pulled back after putting it on her.
“How does it look?” Rhaenyra asked, as Viserys smiled.
“Perfect” Viserys replied simply, before looking back to Leandra.
“And what of the architecture? The lands? What else did you see there? You must tell me!” Viserys asked in excitement, feeling like a child again as he wanted to know more about the home of his ancestors.
“It was…incredible, your grace. I won’t speak of what I saw, for there are things there that…are better off not known, but I will say that the city was massive, your grace. Far larger than I was anticipating, larger than any city I have seen before. Made of Blackstone and practically humming with….something. I didn't believe I was welcome there, so I opted to leave as quickly as I could, so I could not truly see its beauty, apologies, your grace” Leandra said as Viserys shook his head.
“No no, that is more than anyone else has seen. You are the first to ever survive entering the city! That is incredible itself! What of the adventure there?” Viserys asked, as Leandra faulted slightly, only to stop when she noticed the look of interest Rhaenyra was giving, and sighing.
“Well it all began when I met a pirate captain…”

Later, after a long story, that was mostly true, Leandra had finally been left alone, as she stood alone, simply gazing up into the skies, contemplating what to do once she got back to Casterly Rock.
“You don’t like the party?” A voice asked, as Leandra turned to Rhaenyra.
“No, Princess. I find myself…uncomfortable at these sorts of things. I far prefer spending my time more productively” Leandra replied genuinely, as she had never been a party person, even in her past life. It just wasn’t her thing.
“And what would that be?” Rhaenyra asked.
“Training, working on improving the Westerlands, reading, many other things. Parties are just an excuse for Lords and Ladies to spread gossip and manipulate one another, it’s all so…dull to me” Leandra replied, being quite blunt with Rhaenyra.
“Dull?”
“Mmhmm, the Lords and Ladies all think they are so smart, trying to manipulate me. Like the lady Tyrell over there, wishing to curry favor for her family in order to get goods from my lands for cheaper. All of them have intentions that are clear to see. It’d be far easier if they were just blunt about what they want. But I suppose this is Kings Landing, and if the Hand of the King is attempting to manipulate me, then I suppose any of them would” Leandra replied, as Rhaenyra looked surprised.
“Lord Otto?”
“Mmhmm, likely for his brother. The man thinks of himself smarter than he actually is. Most of the people are that way”
“And what of me, Lord Leandra?” Rhaenyra asked, as Leandra blinked.
“Do you wish for me to be truthful, or lie to you?” Leandra asked.
“Truthful of course” Rhaenyra replied, interested in the response.
“As you wish. I think you are wholly unaware of what it is you are getting yourself into by being Heir to the Iron Throne, and what being the Heir actually means. I think that you have no idea how to even rule, what laws to put into place, and have no preparation for what your rule will be like. You haven’t even spoken to your father about getting a position on the Council, so you can begin to see what your duties will be like” Leandra said truthfully, that was just the start of it, but it was all the truth.
Rhaenyra had absolutely zero clue what the hell she was doing, and it was very blatant for someone like Leandra.
“You-what do you know about me? You just arrived in Westeros!” Rhaenyra replied, insulted.
“I know that you scrunch your nose slightly when you lie, that your face goes red when you're angry, even if you don’t show it. I know that you and the Queen are at odds due to your father, and I know that you are dreadfully lonely” Leandra responded, looking at Rhaenyra.
“I also know that you need someone to help you understand what it means to be a ruler” Leandra said, wondering if what she was doing was a mistake or not. She hated to admit it, but Rhaenyra was very much appealing to her, and either way, she didn’t want the dance of the dragons to happen, so helping Rhaenyra understand how to rule would hopefully stop that from happening.
“And I don’t say any of this to insult you, Princess. But because you have heard a lot of lies from others, and I think that it would be a grave mistake to let you continue as you are. Especially if I am to call you my Queen in the future” Leandra said, softening her voice somewhat when she said this, as Rhaenyra scowled.
“You are a cunt, Lord Leandra” Rhaenyra said, before running off, leaving Leandra alone, genuine and rare shock on her face as she held her face, red from a slap that landed squarely upon her from Rhaenyra.
Watching the Princess run off, with none of the Lords of Ladies seeing, thankfully, Leandra slowly felt her shock turn to a small smirk as her interest in the Princess began to bloom more and more.
For none had hit her like that before, and none had dared speak to her that way.
’Interesting…perhaps Rhaenyra will be a more appealing little thing than I had thought’ Leandra thought, as Rhaenyra on the other hand, was red faced in anger, but also growling as she knew that Leandra was right, that she had no clue what the hell’s she was doing, and that she needed someone’s help.
What neither of them knew was that this was the start of something incredible. The start of a relationship that would change everything.
And it all started with a slap

That’s the end of the chapter!
So her and Rhaenyra are off to a rough start!
I’ve decided that their relationship will be…you know, an actually realistic one. There won’t be cheating (as I fucking hate that shit) but they will have arguments and their ups and downs. But, they will also be absolutely adorable, as in Lucifer and Alice levels of adorable.
Rhaenyra is a hard headed person even in the show, so it’ll naturally take a bit for her to listen to someone like Leandra. And Leandra…well Leandra just found herself more and more interested in the idea of Rhaenyra Targaryen.
I’ve got more GOT and HOTD vault fic ideas that will come in the future. I also plan on making some Harry Potter ones as well, and maybe even some crossover stuff with Overlord after reading a few fics with Overlord crossed over into HP and GOT.
Anyways, have a good day!
Comments
Definitely got to bring this out of the vault into a main. All hail Leandra the Blessed
