Chapter 200 [Vault]

Title - HOTD: The Last Dragonlord | Chapter 5 | Female MC

___________________________________________________

[3rd POV | 116 AC | Sea’s Near Kings Landing]

It had been a long 16 years since Bale had begun her conquest, since she had left Old Valyria upon her dragons, since she had become more than just the last Dragonlord, since she had been the Queen of a growing Kingdom, a Kingdom that was rapidly proving to be a huge powerhouse throughout the world, one that even Westeros had to be cautious of.

After receiving the letter from King's Landing, an invitation from Viserys to visit the Red Keep, in order to meet the other individual that had dragons, the only other person in the world besides the Targaryens, Balegelle had decided to take the invitation.

The invitation itself was under the assumption that she was a man, which was rather amusing. So she had kept up the secret, and sent a letter back informing him of her arrival moons later, but only after she had made sure her cities could run on their own without her, primarily through those that had been bound to her crystal blood orb, and by making sure her faceless men kept an eye on them all.

At the moment she was sat in the office of her ship, the ship being called “Elaena’s Wings” one of the many ships in her fleet, and one of the largest of them. She had brought a small fleet of 50 ships with her, some of them going to trade in Kings Landing, some of them transporting soldiers to keep her protected within the city, and some were just for intimidation factor. She had a total fleet of well over 2000 ships in her navy, but she wouldn’t let Westeros know that…yet.

“Your grace, it would seem that we are near the docks, do you wish to announce your presence?” The captain of the ship asked, as she looked at him, before shaking her head.

“No, I suspect they already know of my presence. Best to go in silently so they’ll be shocked by who I am” Bale said with a grin, excited to see the reactions that the little Targaryens would show to her.

She knew that it would likely be shocking, and in the minds of a lot of the arrogant Lords, disgusted. After all, she was a woman who was in charge of the most powerful force in Essos with only Yi-Ti surpassing or rivaling her growing Kingdom. So to hear that a woman was in charge, would likely make them believe that one of them had a chance, that a man was more fit to rule.

They were wrong, obviously.

“As you wish, your grace. Should I mobilize the shadows in the meantime? I do know that you wished to wipe out the child fighting rings and the whorehouses that utilized children” The Captain asked, he was also in contact with her “Shadows” a group that her faceless men had made that specialized in assassination and wiping out groups that she was not fond of, including things like slavery groups, whorehouses that utilized children, and similar places.

“Hmm, go ahead. I’d hate to visit a city that has such horrid things happening, and I might as well give the naive Targaryen King my aid” Bale replied with a nod, agreeing that such groups needed to be taken care of, and she didn’t mind being the one to do it.

“And are we to do the same thing as before? Destroy them and then buy them out and replace them with our own whorehouses and stores?”

”Aye, no need to leave those places when we can replace them with something better” Bale replied, as the man walked off in order to send word to the shadows so that they could get to work.

Being left alone, Bale sighed ‘Seems I’ll be meeting the Targaryens soon. I’m sure that arrogant cunt Daemon will try his best to get into my pants, not that it will work. And Otto will likely try something, perhaps wedding his grandson Aegon to me, or trying to. Too bad for them there are only two people in the capital that I am interested in, should I even marry at all’ Bale thought, remembering two beautiful women from the show, one born of the Sea and the other of the Sky.

‘We’ll have to see about them though’ Balegelle thought, deciding she would interact with them first before deciding anything regarding a potential marriage. She didn’t need a marriage or anything, but the idea of marrying either of them was…a bit appealing, so if she HAD to choose someone to marry, it’d be one of the two, or perhaps even both of them should she be lucky.

‘For now we just wait to dock’

A little while later, four of her ships had docked. The small folk all gazed at the massive ships in awe, as they noticed the banners flying high upon them. The ships themselves were the best of the best, and were far better than the ships that Westeros utilized, thanks to her hiring countless ship builders to work on improving the older designs.

Coming off of the ship were her personal guard, the “DragonGuard”, 7 men and 7 women that were all strengthened through special rituals involving the sacrifice of others, granting them increased strength, speed, durability, and regenerative healing. They were the best fighters in her Kingdom, and were her personal “Hounds” of sorts, who would go out and kill on a single order from her.

Each of them wore Valyrian Steel armor and Valyrian steel swords. Something that was currently hidden by cloaks, as was her own form, as they snuck off the ships while her men all left out in the open.

[This, but the chest has her banner, same with the shoulders. And the white colors are Red while the rest is black]

She noticed that there wasn’t anyone important waiting for her, which was almost certainly an insult, likely from Otto and not Viserys. As from her knowledge, Otto was still the Hand of the King at the time, but will likely lose it soon.

Her and her Dragon Guard continued to move through the city, the cloaks hiding their forms as they made their way closer and closer to the Red Keep. Eventually, they had made it to the entrance of the place, as two gold cloaks stopped them.

“Halt! Who are you?” The man asked at the entrance to the Palace.

”We are the Dragonguard under the personal rule of the Ruler of the Dragon Lands. Their grace wishes to enter in a more…quiet manner” The leader of the Dragon Guard, Vanin Leorn said, a man who was a slave that fought in the fighting pits, but was now free, and served her willingly.

“You-do you have any evidence of these…claims?”

“A letter from the King himself” Vanin said, handing the gold cloak the letter that she had been written. Reading it through the gold cloak slowly nodded.

“You must leave you-“ “We will not leave our weapons, good sir. It is for our safety and our rulers. But we will not pull our blades unless attacked first, on that we swear to the Gods” Vanin said, as the man went silent, before glancing at his fellow gate guard, who nodded.

“Alright, go on in. The King and the Royal Court has been waiting” The man said, as Vanin gave him a nod, the group walked through the gates, towards the actual entrance to the Red Keep, and not just the gate to its outer yard.

“Are you ready for this, your grace?” Vanin asked, as Bale nodded, more than prepared for this reveal, as they walked into the Red Keep, navigating through it’s halls, towards the Great Hall, in which the King and the Royal Court was waiting.

[The Great Hall]

”Where in the hells is he? We have been waiting for nearly an hour now!” Viserys asked Otto, who was standing besides the throne.

The Great Hall was filled with nobles from around the realm, and most notably, all the Targaryens. Daemon, Rhaenyra, Viserys and his other children, Rhaenys and her children. All dragon riders were present to meet the other that had a dragon, for this was too important for them to remain split, and with the Stepstones conflict finished and Daemon being welcomed back, this was all possible. Daemon had returned that very same day, hence why he has yet to be exiled once again.

“I do not know, your grace. Perhaps they are simply being held up?” Lyonel said.

“This is undoubtedly a slight against your House, your grace. To undermine your rule, since they too possess dragons” Otto offered, whether this was actually true, nobody knew.

“Father, they are probably just lost. After all, you didn’t send anyone to guide them here, did you?” Rhaenyra said at the side, as Lyonel nodded in agreement, as that was the most likely situation. This unknown man had never been to Westeros afterall.

“…Yes…yes, that is likely it. We shall wait for a little while lon-“ Viserys was cut off as at the side of the Great Hall's entrance, a man began to speak, reading a paper with wide eyes, and face pale.

“The Breaker of Chains, The Unburnt, The Khal of Khals, The Stallion that shall mount the world, The Great Conqueror of the Dragon Lands of Essos, The Greatest Warrior of Essos, The Undefeated!” The man began, as the doors opened, everyone going silent as they turned, 14 tall individuals standing there in lines. All of them standing at least 6’4, some taller.

Each of them wore glistening armor that seemed untouched, and yet, those who who have seen the steel of Valyria, knew upon gazing at them, that they wore Valyrian steel armor, causing gasps to ripple through the crowds, and the Targaryens to go wide eyed, before the man continued, as a figure began to slowly walk around the corner, a cloak no longer covering their figure.

“The Queen of the Dragon Lands of Essos!” Upon hearing the word Queen, more eyes were widened as they all realized that they had assumed wrong, while Viserys leaned forward more upon the words, as they finally gazed upon her, as the one announcing her presence finished.

“Queen Balegelle Balerion, The Last Dragonlord!” The man's voice boomed, as the entire court gazed upon Balegelle, seeing her long, vibrant hair. Her piercing eyes that were akin to that of a dragons, her tall, and yet impossibly beautiful figure. A woman more beautiful than anyone any of the people in the Hall had ever gazed upon, the most beautiful woman in the entire world.

She was dressed in Valyrian steel armor, fitted to be comfortable and elegant, the one she had found in Valyria when she had awoken. Her Valyrian steel blade and dagger at her side as she walked through the hall, her 14 dragonguards marching beside her in an organized manner, as they had been trained to do.

She walked closer, before stopping before the steps that led up to the Iron Throne, a small smile on her face as she glanced over the Targaryens in the room, her eyes lingering on Rhaenyra and Laena more than the others, before turning back to Viserys.

“It’s a pleasure to finally meet the only other family to survive the doom” She spoke in Valyrian, as all the Targaryens blinked in surprise.

“You belong to Old Valyria?” Rhaenyra asked, as the others in the Hall looked confused, as most of them didn’t understand a word that was being spoke.

At the question, Bale smirked.

“I belong to the Balerion family, Princess. The First Dragonlord family that all other Dragonlords were descendants of, it is my family that started the Valyrian Freehold” Balegelle responded, the Targaryens silently listening, Viserys looking almost excited the more she spoke, as he loved everything regarding Old Valyria, and wished to known more about it.

“How is it you are alive? Valyria was destroyed in the Doom centuries ago”  Rhaenyra asked, as Bale turned to her.

“The magic of us Valyrians is very broad in nature. Some allow for us to bend fire and blood to our will, some allow us to heal, and in the case of my family, they had used a rather…long ritual to put me into a deep sleep. This sleep allowed me to live for hundreds of years without aging, until the time was right for me to awaken” Bale responded.

“You expect us to believe that? To believe that you were in some sort of…deep sleep? That you have been alive since the Doom?”

“I could care less about what you all believe, little Targaryen. Your family is of little consequence to me. I simply came to this backwards little continent because you are the only others in the world that are capable of riding dragons, and I wished to meet my only other kin, even if we are barely related” Bale replied bluntly, she had no fear of the Targaryens, and she wasn’t one to be looked down upon, and she wanted to make sure they understood that.

“You speak arrogantly for one that is surrounded and can be killed at any moment” Daemon said with a small smirk.

“I think you’ll find that I am not the one that is surrounded, Daemon Targaryen” Bale said with a small smile, as a moment later, the Red Keep began to shake, as several Earth shattering roares echoed through the area.

“My dragons are larger than any of yours, my armies are larger than any of yours, and I am richer than any of you. I haven’t forgotten my roots unlike you, and I haven’t forgotten that your family was a tiny little minor family, while mine was the most powerful in the Freehold. It would do well to remember that, Targaryens” Bale said in common tongue, glancing over them with a cold glint in her eyes.

“Now, why don’t we stop with the little cock measuring contest, because we both know that I will win. Instead, how about we speak to one another as the last true Valyrians, and not whatever it is that this was” Bale offered, not really wanting to deal with the hidden threats and the politics.

“You-“ “I believe that would be for the best, Queen Balegelle. I too find myself…tired of the constant politicking. Instead, I would love to hear of your time in Valyria, and what our home was like in its prime” Viserys said, cutting off Otto before he could start more problems for them. As he would rather not start a fight with this woman.

“Great! Now, how about dinner? And we can hear all about Valyria, just us with dragon blood running through our veins” Viserys said, as Bale nodded, her eyes locking with Laena, noticing the way the girl was looking her over with interest, causing her to smirk slightly, before turning back to Viserys and responding.

“That sounds…fantastic, Viserys. I would just love to get to know you and your family more” Bale said, as she locked eyes with Rhaenyra, her smirk widening at the way Rhaenyra shivered underneath her look. Bale had one thought on her mind upon seeing the reaction.

‘…This’ll be fun~’

That’s the end of the chapter!

Valyrian will be in italics so that I don’t lose my mind having to look up and then copy and paste every single sentence I wanted to write with it.

This’ll be the last chapter for this fic as I focus on other vault fics more.

Anyways, have a good day!

I love this story!!! it should become a MAIN FIC and switched out for "Travels of the Daughter of God" as that story I think should be ending soon as its getting boring and is a good stopping point with her becoming the ruler of DC. writing an epilogue should finish it nicely.
