Chapter 206 [Vault]

Title - Bella Swan: The Gift Creator | Chapter 3 | Female MC

____________________________________________________

[3rd POV]

By the time Bella had woken up, the plane was only a few minutes from landing. The person next to her was kind enough to wake her up, telling her about this little fact.

She didn’t particularly like planes, but she was glad that the ride went by quite well. And now she was walking through the airport, towards where her father, Charlie, was picking her up. The man had driven three and a half hours to Seattle to pick her up, taking his day off from his job, which was working as the chief of police for the Forks police department.

Walking through the airport, she glanced around, noticing the bustling crowd of people trying to get through the security, and the guards that watched everyone’s moves. Glancing at the map of the airport, she saw that she was about to be where her dad was waiting for her, all she had to do was turn a corner and go through the front door, and he’d be there.

And low and behold, he was.

Her father was an aged man, in his late thirties, maybe early forties. With that mustache of his that was well taken care of. He stood at around six feet tall, only a few inches taller than her. He looked like her, before she began to change her appearance. And he was similar to her, being a loner, being rather clumsy. Well, like the old her. She was still a loner, who didn’t care for the opinions of others, or what she wore, but now she had a bit more…charm to her. That, and she wasn’t nearly as clumsy as she used to be, thank God.

”Bella, is that you?” Charlie asked, as she walked over to him, her bag slung over her shoulder as she smiled.

“Yeah, dad, it’s me. I-I uh made some changes recently, do I…do I look good?” Bella asked, wanting to see how he’d react. Her mother hated the changes, openly criticizing them, looking down on her for the things she did to herself. But her dad…it seemed her dad was the opposite.

“Yeah kid, you look good. Why, you think I’d be against the hair?” He asked with a raised eyebrow, as Bella let out a small smirk.

“Well Mom wasn’t too happy” Bella replied, as he let out a laugh, before moving over and helping her put her stuff in the back of his car.

“Seems you got some muscle on you too. You've been working out?” Charlie asked, noticing her arms which were quite toned, enough that it was something you could see just by glancing at them.

“Yeah, I went to some self defense classes too. You know, Kung fu, Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, that stuff. Guess I’m pretty good at it too, I got a ton of offers to compete in tournaments” Bella replied, as she climbed into his car, which was his police cruiser funnily enough.

“Really? Damn kid, did you accept any of them?” Charlie asked, looking impressed. He hadn’t heard much about Bella from Renee, besides the fact that she was moving to Forks with him. But to hear that she had changed so much in only a few months was impressive.

“Nah. Seemed like a waste of time. I might compete in some local tournaments down here, but I didn’t really see the point in doing it in Arizona. I more so did it for the work out and just in case. Can never be too safe, afterall” Bella replied with a shake of her head.

She was only really interested in competing in Washington so that she could use it should she wish to go to College. That, and it might bring in some extra cash, something that she actually would need in the future.

“Huh, too bad. But I do think there’s a few competitions down in the area. I’m sure we can get you signed up for a few of them” Charlie said, as she nodded.

“I’ll look into it. Wanna get situated before hand though” Bella responded, as her father nodded, agreeing with the idea. She planned on competing once she was in school for a few months, and saw the Cullen’s in person.

“Good, now get some rest kid. It’s gonna be a long drive” Charlie said, as Bella smiled, and leaned back, deciding to get some more shuteye, as the sounds of the radio lulled her to sleep, her father watching over her with a warm smile on his face, and words whispered.

“…I’ve missed you kid”

[Hours later]

After a little over three hours, Bella finally saw the welcome to Forks sign, a small smile on her face as she noticed the quaint and rather comfortable town. It was dark and dreary, but she had to admit that the place had it’s charm.

“Different than what you were expecting?” Charlie asked, as she shrugged.

“A little. But…I like it more than Arizona. Way too hot down there, as in, melting the bottom of my shoes hot. But here? Here it’s…comforting, I much prefer the rain and clouds to heat that makes me sweat like a pig” Bella replied, as he laughed.

“Yeah, you’ll be saying that now, but once the real bad weather comes, you’ll be taking it back” Charlie replied, as Bella shook her head.

“No I won’t” Bella said simply, as he looked to his daughter, before humming.

“What’re you planning on taking for Highschool? I know it’s halfway through the year and all” Charlie asked.

“The basics. Math, Science, History, ELA, PE, maybe some more advanced stuff. Nothing too crazy. Just the stuff needed to graduate, I’m not the type to go above and beyond or anything” Bella replied, as she really didn’t want to do anything over the top. Her mind was well beyond most peoples, and because of her perfect memory, she’d just have to read through a book once and she would know everything within.

She did contemplate the idea of sports, but decided against it. It would be too easy, just watching a few videos of professionals and instantly becoming the best of the best in that particular sport. It’d become boring.

“Hah, just like me. Never went all that crazy, not worth it. Just do what you need to graduate and then worry about the rest in College when all of that truly matters” Charlie responded, agreeing with her about the over the top part.

Going all out on classes and trying too much is a recipe for disaster, especially when it comes to stress and time management.

“So this is home huh? It’s been a while since I last saw this place” Bella said, as they climbed out of the car,

“Smaller than you remember?”

“Nope, it’s perfect. Just the size I’d want in a house. Nice and comfortable, not any over the top mansions or a house with more windows than walls” Bella said, grabbing her bags as they walked in. The house truly was rather small, but it was the perfect size in her eyes, similar to what she had lived in before.

The old house she lived in with Renee was…well, ugly. It was hot, overflown with Renee’s crap, and had little in terms of personal comfort for Bella. It was more about style and looking good, than actually being a nice place to live. Whereas Charlie’s house was the exact opposite, made purely for comfort and nothing else. Nothing over the top, no designer couches or any bullshit, just comfort.

“Huh, just like your old man” Charlie said with a small chuckle, agreeing with his daughter. There was a reason why he had the house the way it was.

“I left your room just as you left it. Didn’t know if you wanted it changed around or anything, so I’ll leave that to you. But if you need any help with anything I’ve got time” Charlie offered, as Bella looked around her room.

“Thanks dad. But it’s fine. Might just put up some posters and change around some things. But nothing too big” Bella said, as she put her bag onto the bed, finding that she would be getting rid of a lot of the posters, changing them for other things. She was big into music right now, so maybe that’d be what she would go with.

“Alright kid, I’ll be downstairs. Once you’re ready we can go get some dinner at the local place, they’ve got a great burger” Charlie said, as Bella gave her dad a nod, as he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.

Looking back to her room, Bella had a small smile on her face, and one thought on her mind.

‘…And so begins the rest of my life’

That’s the end of the chapter!

Love interest for this fic is Alice and Freya, as everyone seemed to agree that Freya would be the best for the TVD side of things. Her or Bonnie at least, and I decided to go with Freya, as I think she’d be a bit more interesting for Bella.

The last three vault chapters that are promised will be coming in the next few days.
