Chapter 44: Everything has shadows, Magicules

[3rd POV]

With the new books in hand, Kakashi had left a little while later, his perverse grin not leaving his face as he left to go and tell the Hokage of Naruto selling a major amount of scrolls to the unknown bookstore owner. A bookstore owner that was causing more and more controversy and interest within Konoha.

Seeing that his sensei had left, Naruto looked to Wanda.

“Hey, Wanda-San, how come I’ve never seen you in Konoha?” Naruto asked, it was a question that had been on his mind for a little while now, and he really wanted to know the answer to it. He had tried to use some of his clones to see if he could find her out in Konoha, but he never did, meaning that she wasn’t in Konoha, or was good at hiding.

“That is because I’ve never been into Konoha, Naruto. I just have my shop on it’s outskirts, but I have never ventured into the city itself” Wanda replied with a calm smile on her face, as the kid looked up at her in surprise.

“How come? Konoha is awesome! It’s got some of the best food in the whole world, is safe, and probably has all sorts of bookstores you can find new stuff from!” Naruto exclaimed, rising to his feet at the travesty of it all. Of the fact that his new friend had yet to actually enter the town that she literally had her shop outside of.

“Because I prefer to stay in my shop, Naruto. It might look safe, but even the brightest of places have shadows, and the brighter the light, the darker the shadows tend to be. And while I don’t mind Konoha, I have no interest in interacting with some of the people there” Wanda replied with a patient smile, knowing the reaction that was about to come from the 12 year old.

“Hey! Don’t talk about Konoha like that! Even if there are shadows, I’ll just have to bathe them in light once I become the Hokage, Dattabayo!” Naruto yelled with conviction, as Wanda looked at him before giggling softly.

“I know you will, Naruto. But perhaps before that, you should try not to spill the rest of your ramen? It’ll be a little hard to clean up” Wanda said, as the kid blinked several times, before glancing back his eyes widening in horror as he noticed that half of his bowl of ramen was on the ground.

“Nooooo! My ramen!” Naruto yelled in heartbreak, as Wanda giggled louder, before snapping her finger, the ramen disappearing, as a new bowl appeared on the table, causing Naruto to look back at Wanda with a bright grin.

“Thanks Auntie Wanda!” Naruto said with a grin, as he began to dig back into his meal, completely forgetting about what could have been an argument, something that Wanda found adorable.

‘Honestly, if it wouldn’t cause Naruto all sorts of trouble, I’d adopt the little munchkin and take him in myself’ Wanda thought, as she had to admit that adopting a kid sounded…appealing to her. She still remembered her sons, with her “Wanda” memories being the most prevalent, and the Billy memories being far less…pronounced, with most of them having been long since eliminated for her own sanity.

She wasn’t sure if it was this way with all “Wanda’s” but she definitely wanted to be a mother at some point, either through adoption, or good ole fashion magic. She’d never actually get with a guy though, not her thing.

‘I suppose we’ll just have to see how his world goes, if it goes like in canon, then I’ll leave him be. Otherwise, I might have to step in and take the little sunshine under my wing’ Wanda thought, knowing that not all the worlds she was going to connect to were canonically accurate, with some of them being different.

Like how in the Game of Thrones universe that her clone was currently working in, the world had several book characters and book influences. She suspected that Naruto’s world may be darker than what it was in canon, and she hoped it didn’t go how she was suspecting it might.

‘For now, let’s just feed the little thing and see who the next customer is’

A little later, after Naruto had left back to Konoha, Wanda was sitting, reading one of the new scrolls she had been given by Naruto. It was a book on sealing chakra, and was quite interesting, not to mention incredibly complex, and very impressive. She could already see the uses of it, once she figured out how to warp it into something else.

She planned on starting to create more and more of her own custom books that she herself would make, books that were full of spells and such that she would make. She had already created a number of spells over the past few months since her rebirth, and she would only continue to make more.

On her lap was Teekl, who was sleeping soundly, which was a norm for the lazy kitty.

Wanda was cut off from her reading as the door opened, and in stepped Rimuru, who was looking at her with a more serious glint in his eyes than last time. It had been quite some time since he had last been there, and it looked like he was now far stronger than before. Probably in hopes of having a chance against her, should she try anything.

He would never possibly reach that level, but he didn’t need to know that.

‘Sage, what’s the possibility of me beating her now?’

[Your death is 100% certain, and your possibility of defeating her is zero]

’Yeah…I expected that much. Alright, guess I’ll just be upfront with her’ Rimuru thought, before speaking to the amused woman, who he knew could hear him.

“I’m here for an exchange. You said last time that you were interested in gaining access to skills and magicules, right? Well, I’m here to offer you that, and in return, I just ask for a single favor, and maybe a few books” Rimuru said, as Wanda raised an eyebrow at the offer.

“Hmm, deal. As long as the favor does not go against my morals or beliefs, I will help you with just about anything” Wanda replied with a smile, as she reached her hand out, causing him to look at her in confusion.

“I just need your hand, and I’ll do the rest. Giving myself the ability to utilize Magicules should be easy enough” Wanda said with a smile, as the man looked at her hand, before breathing in and gripping it, and the second he did, she began the process.

Rimuru could only silently wait as Wanda began to manipulate her very soul and body, warping it into something capable of holding and adapting to magicules, a new source of energy that would boost her power by a decent amount, and should she go to Rimuru’s world in person (a clone wouldn’t work) she’d even be able to get skills, likely a lot of them at that.

The entire process lasted only a few moments, before an aura exploded out of her. Rimuru couldn’t sense it, but it was so large that it filled the entire dimension that her bookstore was inside of, a dimension larger than most universes, as it shook. At the same time, Great Sage spoke inside of Rimuru.

[Individual known as “Wanda” has achieved Magicules. Magicules levels beyond levels that can be estimated. Individual Wanda has a 100% chance of being the most powerful user of magicules in reality]

’…Well…lets hope this was actually worth it’ Rimuru thought with sweat trickling down his face, trying not to feel fear over the fact that he had just made Wanda a decent bit stronger, and now gave her the ability to gain skills, even if he didn’t really know anything about the latter.

Letting out a sigh, Wanda pulled her hand back as she smiled “Thanks for that, Rimuru. It seems magicules are quite a bit more impressive than I had thought, not to mention easy to utilize” Wanda said, effortlessly manipulating magicules with a singular motion of her hand.

Magicules were very similar to magical energy from other worlds, but was more…science based? It was interesting, really. The spiritrons within it should be able to be utilized by her, allowing her to also gain Aura and even Holy Power from Tensura, but she would do that later on, and not with Rimuru watching her.

With that over with, Wanda looked at Rimuru, with one important question on her mind, and that very same question flew from her mouth moments later.

“So…what books do you want?”

That’s the end of the chapter!

Wanda is officially a user of magicules, and will be gaining some skills soon. Not sure where in the timeline Rimuru is, but I’ll say he’s before Milim, but only by a short while.

Wanda might be getting another helper in the form of Milim, as I can kinda imagine all the chaos that the little bundle of anarchy would cause.

Give me ideas for skills! She’ll be gaining at least 5.

Fanon Maker SHOULD be getting updated today, but I’m not sure, as I haven’t really been sleeping good in the past few days, and I’d like to fix my schedule. If not today, then it will 100% be tomorrow, alongside Daughter of God and maybe a vault chapter or two.
