Chapter 240 [Vault]

Title - Jean Grey: The Ultimate Mutant | Chapter 3 | Female

____________________________________________________

[3rd POV]

School ended up being a less than enjoyable experience. As unlike what she had been expecting, she was not in the same year as Peter Parker. The boy wasn’t even in Highschool yet, which made some sense, as it was only 2008, 3-4 years before the New York Invasion.

She imagined that he was in Middle School at the moment, maybe the latter half of his years there.

This meant that the school was…pretty boring all things considered. So she decided that instead of wasting her time, she began to rapidly improve her grades, using her new abilities within limits, beginning to learn how to control them in order to use mind reading.

One application of her abilities that she liked was the fact that she remembered EVERYTHING she has ever gone through. And using this, she was able to read through books and learn the necessary material from Highschool within like a week.

And thanks to this, she managed to graduate early around a month after going to school. She had been offered scholarships and such from some pretty big colleges, like MIT, Stanford, and Harvard, but she passed on all of it.

She instead used her powers and began to make some money. This was done through online sports betting, scratch tickets, and the lottery. Anything that involved gambling that she legally could do at her age, she did. And because of that, she began to make a LOT of money.

Millions of dollars were flying into her bank account, only to immediately be lost as she began to invest it in companies that she knew would be making money. Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and a few dozen others.

She was likely catching the attention of a lot of people with the money she was making through her betting, but she didn’t care as there was no proof that she was doing anything illegal. So instead, she continued to make money.

She even used her transmutation power, warping reality on small rocks, turning them into diamonds and selling them through various…less than legal means, which made her a lot of cash. She did it within limits of course, as she knew better than to do it too much.

She wanted to save up enough to buy out the stock of Stark Industries when it eventually crashed, as while she could just make money, she knew that doing so would catch a lot more attention, and would be hard to explain.

That and it was kind of fun, and just making it was boring to her.

Around three months after her initial transmigration, and after Jean had made all the money she wanted, she moved from New York, leaving it behind. She opted to instead move to a decent sized plot of land in Washington State, living on her own ranch with horses and cattle that she took care of.

It was a fun place to live, and it was huge too. Meaning she had a lot of land to practice her powers without having to worry about people seeing her, as the land was miles away from the nearest city or town.

She continued to make money of course, but that was usually done by creating expensive jewels and then selling them.

While she was in her little slice of the world, she began to practice her abilities the best she could.

Telepathy turned out to be one of the most difficult ones to learn. As thanks to her having the telepathic power of what was basically a God, she was struggling to gain proper control over it. Not only that, but her range was literally interstellar, so she had to basically constrict it to what was akin to a bubble.

A bubble that required constant control to keep limited to a certain range.

Telekinesis turned out to be the easiest power to control for her, as it was basically just her using her own willpower and intent to lift things and control them. The limit to what she could lift was…immense to say the least.

She could literally lift a small mountain with a bit of power, and that wasn’t even remotely close to her limit.

And she still had the seal on, she didn’t even want to think about how powerful her telekinesis was going to be after the seal began to lift. Hell, she hadn’t even gotten the Phoenix Force yet!

Vulcan’s power was…a bit more complicated to learn than telekinesis. As it involved the manipulation of energies. She could sense energies without difficulty, including things like electromagnetic energies, and even magic.

But manipulating it took a bit to learn, as each energy was different, and were on different wavelengths.

The easiest to learn was by far electrical energy. And she learned how to control and even absorb it within a couple of days of practice. She wasn’t sure what her upper limits were for this particular power, but she was confident that it would be enough to fight against the lightning users like Storm and even Thor.

She didn’t even touch magic yet, as she wasn’t sure exactly how it worked in this universe. And she’d rather not catch the attention of the Ancient One just yet.

One of the better abilities she had learned through her psionic power was the power that Taskmaster had. Which basically just meant that she could use her psionic energy to perfectly mimic and memorize the movements of others.

Using this, she was able to watch and mimic the martial arts of the best of the best on tv. MMA, UFC, Jiu-Jitsu, Kung Fu, Karate, pretty much any she could see she began to mimic and learn. As her power was overwhelming and immense, she couldn’t rely on it entirely.

It was best to have the skill in martial arts just in case. And so she took advantage of her ability to the best degree she possibly could.

The other powers that she had learned was how to create force fields, which was pretty easy to learn, as it was basically just another application of telekinesis in a more protective manner. The force fields themselves were pretty strong, but she wasn’t sure just how strong as she hadn’t really been able to test it just yet.

The fact that she was capable of all of this without the Phoenix Force, and with the seal limiting her to only 1% of her power, was insane to Jean. As she understood that she was simply so powerful that even 1% of her total power was beyond any normal person.

And finally after around 7 months of living in this new world, news of the disappearance of Tony Stark was spread. And the events of Iron Man 1 began to go down. She didn’t really follow it until he shut down the weapons division, which she used to her advantage, buying out all of the stock that was put up for sale at a cheaper price.

By the end of the entire situation, she owned around 42% of the company, with Tony owning the other 57%, and 1% being owned by various other investors.

She didn’t interact with the man, and instead just enjoyed her increasing wealth as she continued to practice her powers in peace.

By the time an entire year had passed, and she turned 18, she had unlocked another percent of her power, boosting it up to 2% of the seal being released.

And it was that release of power that led to her having to retrain herself to control this new power.

And by the time she had lived on her farm for two years, and it had become 2010, Jean had unlocked a total of 4% of her power, and was enjoying her life in peace.

But it would seem that that peace simply couldn’t last, as she was currently in the fields, lifting her various farm equipment, using them to plant her crops. This time the crops were strawberries and watermelon.

Lifting a basket of strawberries, Jean wiped her brow. She had a small shine of sweat on her toned arms that were developed with a noticeable bit of muscle thanks to her working on her farm, and frequently training and working out.

Carrying the basket with her, Jean began to walk towards her home, as she planned on using the strawberries to make some fresh jam.

But as she walked towards her home, Jean paused and frowned.

Looking up, she looked off into the distance, feeling something incoming as she let out an annoyed sigh. Slowly she began to hear the sounds of a large plane incoming, knowing exactly who and what it was.

“Seems my frequent use of psionic power has finally led them to me” Jean grumbled, annoyed as she walked up to her front door, and walked inside, placing her basket of strawberries onto the counter.

She looked out of the window as the black jet lowered to the ground in her recently planted field of watermelons. Her eyebrow twitched in anger as her melons were being destroyed. She had been planning on using them for a delicious ice cream, but they were gone now, with the ones stepping out of the high tech jet not giving a damn.

And as they got closer to the door, a knock soon sounded out against her front door, causing Jean to let out an irritated grunt, one thought on her mind as she got to her feet to answer it.

‘…I have a feeling this is going to be a very annoying interaction’

And boy…did she have no idea.

That’s the end of the chapter!

The love interest for this is Emma Frost. Not sure how well this was written, as the timeskip is over with and 2 years have passed. She’ll start to interact with the more important characters soon, especially Tony as he’ll be a good friend to her.

He has, she’s just ignored him. But that won’t be working for much longer.
