She remembered dying.

One moment she had been watching one of her favorite cartoons of all time, Pokemon. Binging the first season of the show for the second time (as she preferred the modern seasons, particularly Diamond and Pearl as well as XY), while her father was out.

She had been a very healthy young lady, working out with her father every other day and making sure not to eat too unhealthily. She had hated the idea of getting sick and being unhealthy.

So she hadn’t died from a sickness, and she wasn’t eating anything. Which just led her to be even more confused with her current situation.

She knew she died, as she could feel it. But…it was the actual reason why she died that she drew a blank on.

Sitting in…wherever she was, the young lady hoped her father was at least okay. He was a steel worker who worked hard to provide for her, with her being his only child, and her mother passing away quite a few years ago.

She had gotten used to taking care of herself while her father was working, and it was during this that she had watched her first episode of Pokemon, and…completely fell in love.

The cartoon, games, and even the cards. She loved them all, and was very invested in them. Playing through every game she could afford to, buying packs and cards from her own money she made from odd jobs and other stuff. And the cartoons which her father had actually bought her one for her birthday. All the seasons up to XYZ at that.

A huge gift that was.

And after watching the show and playing through the game, she had fallen in love with one type of pokemon in particular, and that was…

Steel Types.

She loved steel types. ESPECIALLY Metagross. She thought he was the most badass cool pokemon of all time, and was super strong too.

Besides him she really liked Aggron, Aegislash, Archaludon, Empoleon, and Tinkaton.

She even did challenges where she played through the games only using Steel types or those that had steel types. As long as the pokemon had steel typing, she liked them. Be it primary or secondary typing.

Which is why she liked Empoleon so much, even if it started out as a simple piplup. Corviknight was another pokemon she adored.

Her father was actually quite fond of the series too, and had regularly watched the show with her, and even played the game too. And whenever he could afford it, he’d buy the cards.

Which as of the last few months before her death, was a lot more often. As he had gotten a huge raise after becoming the boss of the steel factory he worked in.

But none of that mattered now that she was dead, in some sort of…void.

A void that wasn’t so dark and dreary for much longer, as a bright golden glow formed in front of her. Her eyes widening as the figure began to warp and change into something she knew very well, a creature from her favorite series…a pokemon, and that pokemon was…

Arceus

Staring up at the God of Pokemon, the young lady looked at it in awe. It was real! And not only was it real, but it looked amazing!

“Thank you for the compliment, child” The voice of Arceus echoed through the Void, as the teen blinked before blushing in embarrassment as she realized that Arceus heard that.

“No need to be embarrassed young one”

“U-Um, Arceus sir, wh-why am I here?” She asked after a few moments of calming herself. Controlling her voice as she truly understood that Pokemon were truly real.

That her favorite world was real.

“…Because you have been chosen, child. In your worlds standards, I believe this is one of those “Reincarnation” situations that you people like so much”

The teen looked up at him in shock, realizing that…she might be reincarnating into the world of Pokemon!

“Why me?”

“There is no particular reason, child. I simply chose one of the many in your world that loves my children so much. And I thought you’d be a curious addition to my world, with such a powerful love of my Steel type children” Arceus responded, as the teen looked at him.

“…So uh…how does this work? Reincarnating me I mean”

“The reincarnation process is already under way, child. It will be up to you to adapt to your new life, but I will tell you that your father will survive your loss, and eventually shall find new love”

The teen’s face warped into a happy smile, knowing that her father would be okay even after her death.

“And do not worry about the world, child. This is not one of those “Hyper Realistic” worlds that your people have thought of. It’s a lovely little world just like the cartoon, without too much danger, just as I wish it” Arceus said.

“Can I at least know where I am appearing?” The teen asked, as her figure began to glow slightly.

“Where it always begins, child. In the Kanto Region. And do not worry about a starter, I have found a child that will be perfect for you” Arceus spoke, as she began to get pulled away from the infinite void, the last thing she heard before disappearing was…

“Enjoy your new life…Steele”

“I know I like Steel Type pokemon, but Steele, really!?” She yelled out, as her figure disappeared from the void a few moments later, the sound of what seemed to have been Arceus’s laughter echoing through the void, as it returned to darkness once more.

[Kanto Region | ??????]

Within a forest within the Kanto Region, a figure lay. A figure that stood at around 5’5, with short uniquely shaped dark blue hair. A teenage figure that looked to be around the age of 15 to 16. A figure that soon began to open their eyes, revealing a pair of steel colored eyes.

This figure was, of course, Steele.

Opening her eyes, Steele let out a groan as she began to sit up, only to blink when she heard sounds echo around her.

“Pidge!!” “P-Pidgey!” Hearing the sounds, Steele looked over, only to go wide eyed at the sight of…Pidgey’s!

”I-I really reincarnated into the world of Pokemon” Steele whispered in shock, as she noticed nearby Caterpie scurrying away from the flock of Pidgey. She could look up and see the Spearow’s flying by, and the sounds of Weedle’s on the nearby trees.

Looking around, Steele blinked when she saw a bag in front of her. Opening it, she gasped when she saw a pile of 10 pokeballs, with one of them being an Ultraball!

At the side of the pokeballs, Steele noticed a note that she opened.

“This is a gift to start you off, Steele. The Ultraball has your new friend inside. You should also find a Pokédex deeper within the bag. You will also find that your account has a little over 2000 Pokedollars, so use them well. I do hope you enjoy your new life, and I hope you take care of your new friend, signed, Arceus”

Reading it out, Steele looked at the Ultraball, biting her lip in thought, before reaching forward and grasping it in her hand. Breathing in deeply, she gripped it and pressed the button, as a red beam flew out from the ball, and an odd sound echoed through the clearing, followed by her gasp.

As she stared at the unevolved form of her favorite pokemon of all time. Not just that, but it was…Shiny. The Iron Ball Pokemon known as…

Beldum

And here is my first Pokemon fanfic! There’ll be more coming, as I am really getting into the cartoons and games (especially since I got a switch 2 recently and am playing through Scarlet and Violet).

The mc is currently 15, as in this world they start as a trainer at 15 instead of 10, mostly so it’s not so…well, you know, strange.

IF there is a love interest, who should it be? I can tell you now that Serena is off limits, as Ash and her are going to be together.

Steele will be almost entirely focusing on Steel Typed pokemon, so yeah. Her team is going to be absolute tanks, and also really strong.

I plan on making a dragon type one soon, that’ll be set in Sinnoh/Diamond and Pearl. In that one, the mc is going to have three dragons off the bat (in their first forms) all of which will be from far off regions.
