ARCADIA 11

Hey MCDM Patreon Pals,

It is your James Introcaso, here to deliver ARCADIA 11 to you. This is the final issue of the year, and it is sure to help you get through those long winter nights.

Cover Art by Faizal Fikri

Faizal Fikri has long graced the pages of our magazine, but this cover is off the chain! Any time a bard rides a giant bird to adventure, you know something amazing is about to happen. It just gives me overwhelming emotions of fun and joy. Beautiful!

Angelic Ancestries by Sadie Lowry

Remember Sadie’s work on “Uqaviel, the Recreant” from ARCADIA 1? She’s back with more angel goodness, and this time the players get in on the heavenly feeling. We’ve got four new player ancestries plus two awesome NPCs to add to your game. Get ready to meet the scions! The art in this article comes from the great Nephelomancer.

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors by Justice Arman

Sometimes you steal a painting from a local noble and need to unload it fast. Other times you need to get your hands on some outlawed firearms. That’s where our fences come in! This article contains rules for buying and selling stolen goods and three unique NPCs ready to fence for you. Elisa Serio drew the incredible illustrations for this one.

I Cut Off Its Snout by Rudy Basso

Sure you’ve fought owlbears, but have you ever tasted one? This article introduces new rules for cooking up monsters! The critters you fight on adventures might just be your next lunch. Cooked to perfection, these foes aren’t just tasty. They can also give you some cool powers! Art in this article comes from the amazing Gustavo Pelissari.

FAQs

Q: How long will I be able to download the ARCADIA PDF attached to this post?

A: Indefinitely. Though this wasn’t the case at launch, our policy has changed. All issues of ARCADIA remain attached to their launch posts. You can read more about it here.

Q: I know someone who wants to get a copy of ARCADIA, but they don't want to use Patreon. Is there somewhere else they can get it?

A: Definitely, and we understand! That's why, when we post the current issue of ARCADIA to Patreon, we add it to the MCDM Shop at the same time :D. On the MCDM Shop an issue of ARCADIA is $12.

Q: I want to submit an article for ARCADIA. How do I do that?

A: Thanks for your interest, but we currently don’t accept open submissions — you can check out this post to learn more about how we source articles for ARCADIA.

Q: What is this... an FAQ for ANTS? I have a question and it's not one of the ones listed here!

A: Oh no! D: If you need help with anything MCDM-related, email our support inbox (hello@mcdmproductions.com) and we'll respond as soon as we can. We're looking forward to reaching the point where we can bring on a dedicated support team member to help everyone lickety-split, but until we get there we try to check for new messages every week or two. We've got many tools at our disposal, so rest assured that when you hear back from us we will do everything we can to make sure you're taken care of! :)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j8u6BJjW6Ek4QL-x7odLZKZfGWOlM9V105RyVEVDy8Q/edit I've been keeping this updated since midway through last year! Hope it's helpful

Arcadia has some great covers but this one has to be one of my favorites. Gorgeous as always. Love the fence rules too!

Amanda White

That is BRILLIANT, the 2 halflings in one of our campaigns thank you! Proper meals!

James Askins

Is it time to create an overview of all the content in the amazing collection of material that is Arcadia? e.g.: I'm wanting a new adventure for my game, which issues should i be looking in?

FreshLife

I’m in love with all the harvesting lore we’ve been given by these booklets. You guys have made it easy to add something like a harvesting kit for my campaign, as well as give someone a reason to want to use that toolkit. I’m game for anything more you want to do with this going forward!

dillin brawner

I was actually just about to send a message about this very thing. Hard cover and full color, please! :D

Lisa Stump

Even print-on-demand option via Drivethrurpg would be great, I think. And they can send discount costs specifically to bakers in that case.

Alisa Heletka

As Arcadia is almost one year old and seems to have exceeded the expectations of its creators, I would love to see an annual print run of the past issues as a collection. ‚Arcadia Year 1‘ or similar. Without knowing anything about how this works, I assume it would not be terribly hard to produce. The material is already there. And I would guess a lot of patrons would buy it again just to have it on their shelves.

Alexander Hennings

Or even just outline the black text in a white stroke.

A Fox

I have a general formatting suggestion. Your titles for your chapters often have art behind them. Since this art is often very dark, it makes it nearly impossible to read the titles as they are using black text. Maybe consider using black or white text depending on the background art?

Dez

Oh man...this is a great day. Got a haircut, mixed my shaving cream to the *perfect* consistency, Zoom date with my fiance, and a new Arcadia! Lords Colville and Introcaso are fair and just gods!

Vivas Kaul

I'm sure the flavor transforms in your mouth.

Erick Allen

I’m not able to get to my computer atm, anyone know if the cooking rules are backwards compatible with the monster hunting cooking rules in a previous issue?

James Whatson

Good eye! It’s because it’s Matt’s preference I believe. As races is now socially outdated and not really accurate when you really think about what race means in our real world. The D&D races are more like whole different species as I understand.

James Whatson

Mimic Tongue Chowder sounds strangely delicious.

Craig Bounous

That cover art is glorious! Thanks so much for all of the amazing content this year. Arcadia is awesome.

Laura

It is interesting that the term "ancestries" (which is used by Pathfinder 2nd Edition) is used . . .
