Excuse me.. I need to pick up the pieces of my heart 😭

Can we all agree that Tara is the cinnamon roll of this show?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - S05E06|♡Uncut Reaction &Review ♡

Comments

"i should've known she's not a demon. if she was a demon, she would have a thing for xander" made me laugh out way too loud xD

this episode never fails to make me both angry and sad at the same time. didn't realise just how protective of tara you are until your facial expression and tone of voice changed completely when you told her father to shut up. glad i'm not the only one who feels like that man is a waste of space.

Jay

This episode was very bland . Only when Glory & Spike were in it, did it fire up .

Jim Greer

I never noticed that before. Thank you so much for this fun connection! But that poor store owner just can't catch a break. Her insurance rate must be sky-high from all these mysterious accidents!

The Witch Hawk

in the scene where Tara's father is in her room and says "i suppose you wanted me to see your... toys", "i thought if i let you go to college, you'd get it out of your system" etc this is all subtext for Tara's homosexuality

angelcakes

Here is my theory and it's not spoilery cause it's just me .. nothing really mentioned on the show

Lovely reaction as usual! With Tara as my second favorite character of the show I was really looking forward to your reaction to this episode and wow, just loved your emotions, your love for Tara and your insight. As a lesbian myself, it made me so happy when you said you were glad she wasn't a demon, cause as you said it would be so wrong to demonize the lesbian character, and I think that's kind of the point of the entire episode, how queer people often have to find their chosen family because their blood family don't accept them for who they are and in some way demonize them. Thank you for an excellent reaction, I teared up with you throughout the whole episode even though I have watched it a hundred times before. <3

Personally... I feel Riley's "pulling apart from Buffy" is only happening because he feels she's doing that to him, and he feels that way because she's keeping secrets from him and he can sense it. Buffy isn't doing anything wrong... but I think Riley's reactions to Buffy recently are warranted.

Bisibia

Riley is feeling left out of Buffy's life. He knows she is not telling him something. He is reacting by pulling away from her by going out to a demon bar, certainly without her knowledge. After he said it was wrong for Buffy to be there. Because of that he wasn't there to help Tara with her father. He wasn't there when the group had a bonding moment. A large shot of the "family" that he was missing from. The group shot is symbolic of the pulling apart from Buffy that Riley is doing.

Bud Haven

I totally forgot about that scene. Thank you 🙏

Dude spoilers!

I adore Tara......she's wholesome, sweet, insightful, adorable and always seems to make the characters and audience feel at peace ☺️ My 3rd fav character 😍 xx

Ooohh also just to mention, incase you didn't make the connection. The reason Tara deliberately threw the ingredients away and sabotaged that spell in one of her first episodes was because it was a spell to find a demon. And she thought it would show her to be a demon to willow.

Another fun callback in this one: Harmony references a store called April Fool's which happens to be the same store Cordelia worked at leading up to the season 3 finale and that Xander payed off the remaing money for the dress that Cordy subsequently wore to the dance.

Sofieeeee your insights are just...so spot on its crazy. Spike and his relationship equating sex and violence, and how he's capable of love but is it proper, healthy love? Also yes the buffy and xander discussion about what to buy Tara was a vaguely metaphorical guise for being still a bit unsure of the new gay relationship. Oh and yes, the start if the episode, was very reminiscent of restless, and very joss whedon style

“If she were a demon she would’ve had a thing for Xander” 🤣🤣🤣

Flora Smith

Hmm. When people call a character a cinnamon roll, it's usually a character that is very sweet and innocent and who needs to be protected at all costs.

Raven Dark

I can't agree because I'm not sure what you mean by the cinnamon roll.

Love this episode and Amber Benson's face throughout the whole scene in the Magic Box. Your reactions to Spike are priceless. 😊 Cutting the second clip at "that's not good" was perfect!

Another three-parter! About to watch now - Ill update below as I go along. Perfect Friday night viewing! The Woman in the Red Dress says to Buffy in the last episode while they are fighting, "...I just noticed something. You have superpowers. Can you fly?" It is not until this episode that she realizes, however, that Buffy is a "common" slayer. This implies that powerful forces, good or evil, must be aware to some extent of the existance of slayers. Vampire Sandy is actually the progeny of Vampire Willow! In Doppelgangland, Sandy is the girl that Vampire Willow bites in front of the crowd at The Bonze asking, "...questions, comments?"
