That's the one thing that's always bugged me with this episode: they *did* meet, he called her a fool, and they're both the sort of drop dead gorgeous people you don't ever forget encountering. :-)

2022-02-05 03:36:14 +0000 UTCThey did meet. Angel, Willow, and Xander went to the vamp-wannabe club together and they talked to her. And the vampire she "met" was Spike. She was the one closest to the door when he came in and he had started drinking her blood before Buffy took Drusilla hostage.
2022-02-04 02:35:37 +0000 UTCThe vampire that Chanterelle/Anne met was Spike. He bit her on the stairwell of the vamp nightclub towards the end of Lie to Me. Right after that there's a quick cut of her escaping up the stairs and outside along with the other cult members before Buffy locked Spike and Dru in the club along with Ford.
