Lily (Patreon commentary)

I hope you like reading because here come the lore.

I decided to flesh out one of the reapers I've sketched in the past.  I'll continue giving same treatment to all the others and discover interesting things about them and the world.

This one I decide to call Lily, I still like old design with the flower and the lamp as well, maybe I'll find a place to put the flower on her.

I don't have too many idea when I go into these design sheets. Especially for secondary/incidental characters like this. I tend to discover a lot of ideas as I draw.

Even so, I still don't have too much idea of who Lily is but I am getting better sense of the reaper entity as a whole. I've had this idea of two types of reapers. They are, ancient reapers and modern reapers.

For example, Kristopher is one of the ancient reapers, they are more like a force of nature. Leading souls to after life is less of a 'job' for them but more of their second nature. The ancients do not have emotions or at very least show any signs of emotion. They don't remember anything about themselves but they might have been human very very long time ago perhaps with some kind of sinful/criminal past that landed them in the current position of eternal servitude.

The ancients are often seen with physical erosion on the body. In case of krisopher, he is actually missing the jaw bones. For Lily, her right hand and some back plating of her skull. I have not yet decided if the ancients cannot talk at all. Kristopher never talks, Lily, if she has anything to say, I'll have her speak telepathically.

Briefly the modern reapers, the major difference being, is that they have a lot of human emotions left in them as well as ability to visibly emote with the skulls. I've attached example of skulls emoting. "The Boss" and my sona "Q" They are rather cartoony in visual nature. much different than stoic ancients that never emote. The modern reapers also recall some tiny fragment of their past memories and have retained certain personality from their past life as well.

I'll stop writing for now, I'll perhaps have more to talk about the next time I do another reaper character sheets.
