I always mean to look it up but I love the song that plays while their is the monatge where Kate is searching Angel's place etc.

I love the line "This socializing thing is brutal." I feel you Angel. I use a gif of that quote on Facebook sometimes.

TheMew

They do get a chance to really flesh out Angel including his humor and brooding, and heroism and i love it. You do see some moments of Angel being a bit of a goof on Buffy sometimes like when Buffy came in her window and he was holding Mr. Gordo, when he thought Willow was dead after he saw Vamp Willow, when he tripped coming into the Volcanologists place, and thinking Willow was Buffy when he was poisoned. I think that stuff, and Becoming Part 1,2 and Amends are really the stuff that kind of give a glimpse of the deeper character stuff with Angel you see on his own show.

TheMew

That's what she said.

If 'Buffy' is about growing up, 'Angel' is about being an adult. So in this episode we have the singles scene, and the demon moving from body to body, never satisfied, as a metaphor for single people moving from one night stand to one night stand, trying to make a connection without being satisfied.

James

He does have a lot of gadgets.... :)

Dennis Bryant

Yes, it is true, he is the Vampire-Bat man.

Shaun Houghton

Gotta agree on the gum thing.

not a big Kate fan mostly because of the actress, also I'd rather you didn't chew gum on camera.

I think, in terms of the personality differences of Angel on Buffy and this series, that he always had a certain confidence with Buffy from the start, for one, because he had this mysterious angle going for him. But in this show, I think leaving Buffy, and also having had fed on a human being (Buffy), threw him through a loop, and he's become more reclusive because of it. Also, he's sent on much more obscure missions, with a lot more social elements that I can definitely see giving him social anxiety. When I was young and watched this, I thought it was bad character development, but as an adult, this is my take.
