I always liked the theme music for this show, it feels darker, yet full of hope. It still gets me a bit misty if I focus too hard on listening to it. I am happy that you enjoyed it, looking forward to seeing your reactions to this.

His name is Doyle. Ah, yes, the other demon. You are the first person to bring him up and notice this that I've seen. The demon from Buffy who told Angel about her, his name was Whistler, and it's an interesting story as to why Doyle seems like the same person. That's because he is. Sort of. Whistler was played by Max Perlich. The intention was for Whistler to serve as a sidekick for Angel on his show, but according to Joss Wheden, there were scheduling conflicts with him, so Doyle was brought in to replace him. That's why Whistler didn't have much depth to him on Buffy, and why we didn't see more of him, because he was supposed to be part of this show. I assume, had Whistler come to Angel's show, he would have been revealed to have visions later like Doyle. I love that you noticed the similarities. I've never seen anyone else say that before. I love this season opener for Angel, and I'm so glad you're so into this show. Can't wait to see more!

The character in Buffy (Becoming) that reminds you of Doyle is named Whistler, and he was actually based off of him. I believe they tried to get the actor who played him to sign on but couldn't, so they created Doyle. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! Angel definitely has a different tone to it than Buffy. It has its own amazing stories to tell. First season is a little uneven but fun overall. Glad you didn’t watch the credits so that Cordy’s addition to the cast was a surprise!
