I think I will avoid series that are borderline hentai in the future because it makes me uncomfortable. I don't mind ecchi anime, but when the series is primarily focused on sex, I think that's just something that if I am going to watch it I will do so alone. Also, I think that the serious tone of this one also made it awkward, maybe if it was more of a comedy it would have been more palatable.
