As for the festival itself it's about showing that you can protect your new wife. I always got the feeling that's Lutz's family felt like there must be some trick. Remember both Myne and Lutz were not informing their families about their money. Myne's finds out around the time with hair stick. But no event like that happens for Lutz. They may have been even more suspicious if that was the case. Then the man jumps and brings a low level employee with him on a business trip? It's like if the CEO of amazon was like part time warehouse employee I need you for this important business trip! Let us travel through the middle east and set up a new branch. Any one would be suspicious of something like that except a kid.

In the after credits chibi short of this episode Benno reveals that Ferdinand (Head priest) should be around 22 or 23 according to his estimates. Which shocks Myne as she believed him to be in his thirties.

That's why he kept stoping him, and he granted as soon as he knows Benno wants Lutz to Inherited the store. This episode feels weird as they cut a lot of content.
